Chapter 33: A Large City.
(Celia’s POV)
Security of this place was probably good, but in the dead of night, humans couldn’t see me secretly enter the city. Even if they could, I would just go invisible. Upon entering it, I went to my first target.
Ring!
I went into a building that looked to be being used as a hotel, and I was shocked by what I saw. The owner of the hotel was talking to someone at the front desk. I assume that she is the owner, as she looks like OL, and is giving out orders to that woman.
The odd thing is… why does she, a person of this game, look like she has lived in this dimension for a long time? No, wait… Recalling Danny, wasn’t she like, very, very weak just then? But… she should have at least been an Enhanced Human.
Faith: “Want me to leak your more information?” She asked while out of breath.
Celia: “Are you okay? You sound like you just ran a marathon…” I reply with a concerned tone.
Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.
Faith: “Imaginary you has so much energy… I can barely handle her seemingly endless sex drive… Now I understand why you have so many wives!” She answered, still out of breath, but clearly with a happy and satisfied tone.
Celia: “…”
Faith: “Because you cheated, the other players were all given a head start to the game before you woke up. Basically, for this part of the game, it makes the stronger players wait, so that they won’t instantly kill the weaker ones.” She explained, ignoring the words that she had just spoke mere seconds ago.
Celia: “Huh? If it did… why are they so weak?” I ask with a confused tone.
Faith: “You aren’t supposed to keep your strength and Status for this part of the game. Instead, you start out as a human, and then you must evolve to get powers.” She answered.
What… Did I somehow cheat again, but by complete accident this time? Fuck… I hope that this won’t get me banned… Oh? Maralia is messaging me…
Maralia: “The game had a bug, and I can tell that your Status wasn’t reset for this part of the game.”
Celia: “It wasn’t… And I was confused as to why you could buy guns and ammo in the System Store… But now I understand.”
Maralia: “We will “fix” your Status, and do an announcement for it. Your Status won’t be reset, but just pretend that it was.”
Celia: “Will that really work?”
Maralia: “It should. Just be careful not to display anything out of the ordinary.”
Celia: “Wow… I feel so weak now…” I say with a shocked tone.
Faith: “…”
Was my acting decent enough to convince people of this? I hope so… Anyway, with nothing left to do, I strutted over to the front desk, and then asked for a room. Quite a few players were living in this hotel, so it makes a good starting point. Also, I should pretend to be weakened some more…
