Chapter 74: Killing in the Name of... A Princess?
(*Celia’s POV*)
As the list of people we've killed kept pilling up and up, security was greatly increased for the few remaining who weren't on June's list. The ones who were killed, well, luckily, their daughters or wives were able to take over their household name and properties, as well as their responsibilities.
Unfortunately, there weren't any good people not on the list so far. Each one was terrible in their own unique, horrible way. June's mother, Queen April, was and still is a terrible person. Yeah, oddly, the royal family always has to have months as their names. Weird, right?
Anyway, April let the nobles of this kingdom do as they pleased. With barely any oversight from her. This accumulated into the nobles abusing their power with reckless abandon. If there was something evil that they could do, then most of the nobles did it.
April was such a horrible person, that only she was allowed to really do anything. Other women, not counting her daughter, June, basically had no rights whatsoever. June says that this was jealousy on her mother's part. Even the slightest crime would get a woman executed in this kingdom...
Which is the main reason why only women were on June's list. As they say, when you give people unlimited freedom, it will either end nicely or horribly. And in the case of this kingdom, it is ending horribly. At least, it is ending like that for the nobles that we've killed so far.
Our Empire doesn't have many restrictions, but there are still many laws in place that prevent corruption and horrible crimes from being carried out. So it is a very safe place to live. Currently, we have killed off almost every noble that we could get our hands on.
Right at this moment, I am sneaking into a noble's house, with the intention of killing him. He doesn't have any sons, but he has no plans on giving the family to his daughter. Instead, he wants a man to marry her, and then take over the family. Funnily enough, his first name is Albert.
Albert: “I will soon probably be next...” He said with a sigh.
He was just sitting down on his couch, drinking a bottle of alcohol. Clearly, our antics have gotten to the nerves of these people. There were around five empty bottles of alcohol around the room. This dude must be really drunk at the moment...
He didn't even hear me open up his door. Sure, the blessing of the Elves makes me silent and invisible, but you should still be able to hear the things that I interact with. I quietly closed the door back, and then revealed myself to him. Albert didn't seem fazed, and looked to accept his death.

Albert: “Me and my mouth... So, I assume that you're here to kill me?” He asked with a sigh.
Celia: “Yes, that is the plan.” I answer honestly.
Albert: “On what crimes?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “From my investigation, just you being sexist to your daughter. Not really much of a crime, but you're still in our way, regardless.” I answer.
Albert: “Sexist!? How dare you accuse me of such a horrible thing!” He exclaimed.
Celia: “You don't plan on giving your daughter the rights of this family, even though she is your only descendant.” I reply with a shrug.
Albert: “I cannot! As it is against the laws of this kingdom! The plan was to have her marry some horrible random useless man, and then have him killed.” He explained.
Celia: “What?” I say with a confused tone.
Albert: “In the same way that your group has made women come into power, I wanted to exploit the same loophole for my daughter.” He answered.
Huh? Did I finally find a good noble in this kingdom!? It is so shocking, after killing twenty nobles just by my hands, to actually find a good person... I kinda don't even believe him at the moment... Hey, Ria? Are you close enough to me to speak to me, and check if this man is lying?
Ria: “He isn't lying, and he also isn't a bad person.” She replied.
Really? Ah, it feels good to not have to kill someone this time! I do enjoy killing my enemies, but these people are just weak humans, without any skills or strength to speak of. Now then, how do I explain this to him?...
Albert: “Well? Aren't you going to kill me already? At the very least, my death will help out my daughter, so I do not mind if you take my head.” He said with a sigh.
Celia: “Change of plans, I won't be killing you.” I reply.
Albert: “Why not?” he asked with a confused expression.
Celia: “You aren't a bad person, that's why.” I answer.
Albert: “Are you really foolish enough to believe my words? I could have easily lied to you this entire time...” He said with an unsure tone.
Celia: “I know that I can believe your words, and I can easily tell if you're lying. No, it isn't based on body language, but instead, magic.” I reply with a confident tone.
Albert: “So, the others that you've killed have all been terrible people?” He asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “Yes, with the one noble with the least offenses being a serial rapist.” I reply.
Albert: “Then it is good that you've killed them. Now then, could you please tell me who you work for?” He asked.
Celia: “Work for aren't the right words. Princess June has something that we need, and she needs our help. It is a relationship with mutual gain.” I explain.
Albert: “Ah! So it is the Princess that is carrying out this coup!? Fantastic! She will make a wonderful queen, I just know it!” he said with a happy tone.
Celia: “Yes, she is already far better than April, at the very least.” I reply with a smile.
Albert: “Tell me, would you happen to be in the market for a wife? I am sure that my daughter would very much like you.” He proposed.
Celia: “Asking a foreign Princess to marry your daughter? How bold... As for your proposal, I am already married to three women.” I reply with a giggle.
Albert: “A Princess!? Forgive me for my words then, Princess.” He said with a remorseful tone.
Celia: “It is fine, Albert. Please have a good rest of your night. Though, I would recommend to stop drinking by now.” I reply with a shrug.
I left Albert's estate with a happy smile on my face. It is nice when an entire place isn't completely corrupt, after all. Now then, I just have to make my quota for today, so I shall go kill some other noble! Soon, we will be able to save Yona, I just have to work hard until then!
