Chapter 27: Revenge First, Saving my Daughter Later!

(Solia’s POV)

Yona was always the one quick to express her feelings and current thoughts. As for me… I was always the one who kept calm, no matter the situation. This was true for even when Celia got into a plane crash.

We didn’t know where she was, but we knew that she was alive and still somewhat within our reach. With her being in a different dimension now, we have no idea of her location, or her the current status of her health.

In such a situation, even I was unable to keep calm. Yona and I went on a rampage, finding anyone and everyone even partially responsible for the kidnapping our daughter.

The trail was very easy to follow, with Joseph renting out a large storage facility in his own name. It was odd that such a fool was in our family line to a certain degree. If I wasn’t so cruel, I would consider not culling this entire offshoot of our family.

What a shame for them that I am not merciful at the best of times. Let alone when one of their offspring decides to lay his hands on my family. And my dear daughter, at that? If it wasn’t for Celia’s merciful sense of right and wrong, they would be lucky if their deaths last shorter than an hour or two.

Yona: “Have you found him yet?” She asked.

Solia: “No. He hid himself well.” I reply with a sigh.

Yona: “Dear… I really, really need to kill him.” She said with a serious tone.

Solia: “And so do I. I am using everything at my disposal to find him, rest assured.” I reply.

Yona: “Rest assured? You, me, and Mena, haven’t been able to get a single restful night since Celia was taken from us… It doesn’t help that those mages had no uses.” She said with a sad tone.

Those mages, which, funnily enough, were advised by Celia to tell the truth, didn’t have any useful information for us at all. The spell they used was generic, and not one of their creation.

This meant that finding out the spell used was very easy, but did us no favors. It was impossible to track which dimension where a person or object sent with that magic would end up in.

Now, our only hope was that Celia was still alive, and that we could figure out how to get her back to this dimension. I could oddly feel that Celia was still alive, though. It wasn’t denial, either.

It was like I had a magical connection to her, even though she wasn’t within this dimension. Mena and Yona felt the same, so I wasn’t just going insane. With that security, we decided to get revenge for Celia first.

Though, it wasn’t that we didn’t focus any effort on getting her back. We very much did. Sending someone to a different dimension is far easier than bringing them back. In the end, it might even take us years to bring her back…

A Few Days Later.

Joseph: “P-please… Just kill me, but leave the rest of my family alone…” He pleaded after coughing up blood.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

Solia: “And why would I do either of those things? You honestly don’t strike me as the kind of person who would care about his family.” I reply, carrying on with my torture of him, which earned another pointless whelp from the man.

Joseph: “If…if all of my family is killed, no one will be there to take care of our businesses. Businesses that the main branch family, you and your wife, for example, greatly benefit from.” He explained through gritted teeth.

Solia: “Oh, we have already changed the leadership for those companies. Don’t worry.” I say with a smile before ripping another one of his nails off of his blood covered fingers.

Today is the fourth day of his torture. I must applaud his tenacity. Others would have long since lost their minds, but he hasn’t. Honestly, this could go on forever. Whatever wounds I give him will just be treated right away.

I don’t really mind that each healing session, due to how rare healing magic is, costs a fortune. Even now, both Yona, Mena and I haven’t gotten enough of torturing him to get out our frustrations.

Joseph: “W-would your daughter be happy to see you all doing this to someone?” He asked.

Solia: “Definitely not. But she will never know.” I reply with an unbothered tone.

Joseph: “You greatly underestimate your own daughter.” He said with a laugh.

Solia: “And why is that? Please don’t tell me that you’re trying to stall for time. If you truly wished for us to kill you, bitting your own tongue off would work. But you haven’t attempted to do so.” I reply with a serious tone.

Joseph: “I’ll admit to not wanting to die by my own hand, but the torture is very, very unbearable… Your daughter, Celia, advised me that you all would torture me to death.” He explained.

Solia: “…Oh, well. It’s not like we hid that we kill people from time to time. You idea to get out of this mess has failed.” I say with a sigh, grabbing hold of some large scissors.

Joseph: “…”

Solia: “Stick your tongue out.” I order.

Joseph: “…”

Solia: “Either I cut your tongue off, or I sew your mouth shut. Your choice.” I propose with an evil tone.

With tears flowing down his face, Joseph stuck out his tongue. In one swift action, his tongue was severed and fell to the ground, making a splat sound. The man has lost his right to speak, that much he surely now understands.

The shock of having your tongue cut off is more than enough to kill a person. As such, the large scissors were coated in a very powerful numbing medicine. The medicine, especially through the leftover part of his tongue, will soon spread across his body, numbing him in the process. So I left.

There wasn’t much reason to torture someone if they didn’t feel pain. Even more so if it is supposed to be a punishment of some kind. It’s not like we’re torturing him for pleasure, after all.

Yona: “That session was shorter than before.” She said with a laugh, helping me clean off the blood from my face.

Solia: “His words got annoying, so I cut out his tongue.” I reply with a laugh of my own.

Yona: “That man is very annoying, so I very much understand.” She replied.

Solia: “Any update?” I ask.

Yona: “As the rest of his family was mainly innocent, they were put to death in an absolutely painless way.” She replied.

Solia: “That’s good. Who knows if there was another bad seed in that family? Best to nip that potential problem in the bud early.” I say with a smile, taking her hand and leading Yona out of the dungeon.

At this point, Celia’s dungeon was put to some decent use now. Celia is most likely fine with us killing people. Though I highly doubt that she is okay with us torturing anyone, regardless of their crimes. This place needs to remain a secret to him forever…

Yona: “I have found a method to bring our daughter back.” She said with a happy tone.

Solia: “Really? What is it?” I ask with an excited tone.

Yona: “100,000, is the minimum.” She answered.

Solia: “Huh? Do you mean 100,000 in cash? That isn’t that much money…” I reply with a confused tone.

Yona: “No. I mean that we have to sacrifice 100,000 people.” She clarified.

Solia: “…That’s…” I was speechless.

This was the only method that we could put into action so that we can get our daughter back?…

Solia: “You’re a genius!” I say before giving her a hug and a kiss.

Yona: “I know!” She happily replied, returning my kiss and hug.

Just 100,000 people, and we will get Celia back. That is such a good deal! Truly, my wife has always been good at making amazing deals. Celia is easily worth a few hundred million people. To only have to pay such a small price to get her back… it is a miracle! Ah, I cannot wait to see our daughter again…
