Chapter 1: It Wasn’t That bad.

(Celia’s POV)

My vision soon returned to me. When I woke up, I was in Hell once more. Why did I end up here? Did I truly mess up too much? Nah, I am just joking.

It was somewhat blurry when I opened up my eyes, but I wasn’t in any dire situation at the moment. Instead, I was in a decently sci-fi looking room, sitting on a chair, and facing a very beautiful woman.

Midas: “It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Celia. You can call me Midas.” She said with a small bow.

Celia: “Midas, huh? Why exactly did it feel like I’ve been sleeping for years?” I ask with a sigh.

Midas: “Many apologies, but that is the case, indeed.” She replied, not hiding the truth.

Fuck… And from how this felt like when I first died before becoming a cell, it wasn’t just a few years that had passed while I was stuck sleeping. How long has it been?…

Midas: “To answer you unasked question, it has been 250 years.” She admitted without me asking.

Celia: “…”

Is she lying? I did have one way to prove or disprove her… That is, I could check out my Status. But I am honestly afraid of doing so. If Midas is speaking the truth… then my family has been alone for so long…

It’s official… I have now far exceeded the lifespan of the average human. The math was so basic, that I didn’t have to think about for more than a second. Yep. It really had been 250 years.

Not to mention, but my level also shot up to the max, and damn… was I so amazingly strong now. Why did they make me sleep, but also give me more power?

Celia: “Why is my level higher?” I ask with a curious tone.

Midas: “It is an apology of some sorts.” She answered.

Celia: “And… why was I sleeping for so long?” I reply.

Midas: “To ensure the sanctity of this game, it was required.” She replied.

Celia: “What exactly happened?” I ask with an angry tone.

Midas: “If we let you roam around here, then the game would be over in just mere hours. Please understand, we needed to balance the scales. Not out of your favor, but just in a way that can be far more hidden.” She added, not fully answering my question.

Celia: “…”

Midas: “After all, Maralia promised me her position once you enter Home with your family. Just see this, regardless of how overbearing it is, as just a means to help you out.” She said with a smile.

Was this woman ever going to give me some answers? I am sure that she will, eventually. Right now, she is actually somewhat shaking. I peeped at her Status, and I am far stronger than her. Midas is probably just waiting for me to calm down…
