Chapter 13: Finding Amelie.
(*Celia’s POV*)
Where the fuck is Amelie!? I have been searching for her for fucking six goddamn hours! If only Ruina were here, I could ask her to tell me her location. The Creator isn’t here, so I doubt that Ruina would get scolded for doing so. That is, if she could…
Unlike the angel’s dimension, this one had a normal layout. That is, it seemed to be a planet, rather than huge floating islands. Currently, I was in a city, and I hope that Amelie is still here as well. The city is somewhat normal, but none of the buildings looked to be used as an office. Everything was for entertainment.
So Heaven is just a place where you can do whatever you want? Damn… I almost regret becoming immortal. Oh well. Not like I can go back on becoming immortal. Now then, where the fuck is my goddamn mother!?
*Hours Later.*
Ah, so the sun goes down in this place? Interesting… With no other way to find my damn curiosity driven mother, I decided to go to the police. Well, while searching, I gave up near one. So I should at least report Amelie as missing.
Officer: “Hello, what can I help you with?” The girl at the front desk asked.
Celia: “Hello…” My words were cut off as someone came in right after me.
Random Woman: “Hm… and what can we help you out with, pretty girl?” She asked with a seductive tone.
Officer: “Detective Gana! That is sexual harassment!” She exclaimed.
Gana: “Is it? I was just giving her a compliment.” She said with a shrug.
How many people are going to act so weird around me? Wait… did I get more attractive? Even the officer was looking at me with an interesting gaze. Frankly, I haven’t really looked in the mirror since evolving…
Celia: “I am looking for my mother.” I answer both of them.
Officer: “Lost family? That shouldn’t be too big of an issue. What is her first and last name? I should be able to look up her location.” She replied.
Celia: “That method probably won’t work.” I say with a sigh.
Gana: “Why not?” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “Amelie and I aren’t dead, but living people. Both she and I were in the process of doing exams and tests in an angel’s dimension. The head angel asked me to deliver a package here.” I slowly explain.
Gana: “Hmm… I see. How did you and her get separated?” She asked with a thinking pose.
Celia: “She ran off when my eyes were off her for a second. I have been looking for her the entire day…” I reply.
Gana: “And you just let her run away? Does she not like you, or something?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Celia: “We have a very good relationship, but she is a witch Goddess. Her curiosity about this place got the better of her, which really isn’t anything that she hasn’t done before.” I clarify.
Gana: “Do you realize how big Heaven is?” She asked.
Celia: “I’ve never been, so no.” I answer.
Gana: “Well over a few quintillion souls rest here, so finding your mother might actually be impossible…” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “Damn…” I say with a sigh of my own, but longer.
After talking to Gana for a bit, I decided to ask her about interesting places within Heaven. Gana asked me my name, which I told her, and then she set off with me to look for Amelie. Thus began my second search for my self lost mother…
*Some Time Later.*
Eventually, we find some traces of Amelie. And by that, we found a battlefield… Why the hell did Amelie get into a fight? I don’t recall her being one that would fight someone for no reason… The area was blocked off by police, but Gana helped me get in.
Gana: “What happened here?” She asked.
Officer: “Ah, detective Gana. A small fight between Goddesses broke out.” He explained.
Gana: “Were they arrested?” She asked with a serious tone.
Officer: “One of them was, but the other had no forms of identification, and was clearly a living person. As such, we couldn’t detain her.” He answered.
Gana: “I see… Carry on.” She replied.
Once we walked away a bit, Gana seemed lost in thought. I hope that she doesn’t think ill of Amelie. I don’t know what happened, but I would like to believe that Amelie was in the right. Like I said, she rarely ever causes a fight to break out.
Gana: “Besides the angels, the number of living beings that make it to Heaven is very small… Do you think that Amelie was part of this fight?” She asked.
Celia: “It was definitely her, I can still sense traces of her Mana.” I reply.
Gana: “Well, unfortunately, we cannot arrest anyone that is living. This is our only lead as of now.” She said with an annoyed tone.
Celia: “Yeah…” I reply with a defeated sigh.
Gana said that she would help search for Amelie until she is found. She also offered to let me stay at her place, but I said that I still needed to deliver the package. Even without Amelie, I still feel bad about not delivering the package on time. I don’t even recall if Cimra told me that it was a late or early wedding present…
With a sigh, I bid Gana farewell, and went on to find the location for the package. Taking it out of my inventory, it started glowing once more. Like a shitty navigation system in a game, I had to play hot and cold with the damn thing…
Eventually, after a few hours, I found the correct house. By the time that I made it here, the sun was already coming up. So at least I won’t be doing a very late night delivery. I skipped over all the walls and security, and just landed at the front door of the house.
*Ding!*
I rang the doorbell, and after waiting for ten minutes, someone opened up the door. As I looked at the person, I was greatly relieved to find out that it wasn’t anyone that I knew of. Whenever I randomly meet someone that I haven’t seen in a long time, I feel as if some random higher being is fucking with me just to make my life entertaining.
Angel: “Hello? Can I help you?” She asked with a concerned tone.
Celia: “Ah, right. Sorry for spacing out. This is a package from Cimra. She said that it was a wedding gift.” I reply with a slightly embarrassed tone.
Angel: “Ah! My wedding is in a few days, so she is pretty early. I am guessing that she doesn’t have the time to attend…” She said with a sad tone.
Celia: “I’m sorry, but Cimra is a very busy person.” I say with a remorseful tone.
Angel: “I know… Oh, sorry for being gloomy. Are you returning after this?” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “That was the plan, but I brought my mother along with me, and she got lost.” I answer.
Angel: “Then… You can stay with me until you find her.” She suggested.
With the stress of losing Amelie, I accepted her proposal without thinking much of it. Once inside, she told me her name was Cemra. Which is shockingly similar to Cimra. Are their parents bad at coming up with names? Cemra took me to a guest room, and I told her goodnight before closing the door.
It might be the morning, but I need more energy to find my silly mother. With a defeated sigh, because I lost my mother, who is many years older than me, I fell onto my bed face first. Either it was the stress, or I was just oddly tired, as I did skip out on sleep earlier, I quickly fell asleep.
