Chapter 38: Failed, yet Successful Escape.
*Celia’s POV*
Unfortunately, the one who blocked my path was far too strong for me to handle. But luckily, the person who blocked me, was someone I knew. That being Amelie.
Celia: “Amelie?” I say with a confused expression.
Amelie: “Celia? Oh, what a treat! I just knew that the message I got was going to be about you!” She said with a happy tone before giving me a hug.
Celia: “Message?” I say with a struggle, as she squashed my face in between her breasts.
Amelie: “Something about a dangerous Goddess pretending to be a human. Ah, they sent me the message through a magical message crow.” She explained after she released me from my comfy breast prison.
She then passed me and walked up to Kirva with a smug expression. Uh oh… she isn’t going to cause a scene, right?…
Amelie: “Kirva? Damn, time surely has not been good to you at all.” She said with a stifled laughter.
Kirva: “Amelie… you know, we sent that letter just as required by law. I truly did not expect for you to show up.” She said with a sigh.
Amelie: “I had a feeling it was to do with Celia, so I came here. Now then, Celia is exactly who she says that she is. And she is truly the age that she claims she is as well.” She said with a serious tone.
Kirva: “Amelie, we haven’t asked her any questions yet…” She said.
Amelie: “And you shall not ask her anything. This unlawful interrogation is over. Yes, Celia is special, but she is not evil.” She said with an annoyed tone.
Kirva: “…”
With a smug tone, Amelie walked back over to me. She grabbed one of my hands, and then started to lead me out of the room.
Amelie: “Any attempt to undermine, or harm Celia, will be meet by my full and sincere retaliation.” She said with a grim tone and expression, before dragging me along with her.
Walking in silence with my hand held by Amelie, I was super confused. Why the heck would she save me like this? I mean, I am very grateful that she did, but why? Apart from those Mana Crystals, I haven’t done anything for her, that would warrant her help…
Amelie: “You seem to not understand your value. Keep in mind, I am not treating you as an object, or anything like that.” She said after we stopped in a hallway.
She also put up a barrier. I think it might be to block out anyone trying to listen in on our discussion. I didn’t know such things existed in this world. Cool!
Celia: “What do you mean?” I ask with a head tilt.
Amelie: “This is a sound blocking barrier, but just in case, only speak in the demon language. Anyway, the System, how many people know that you can use it?” She asked.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Celia: “Apart from you, just a demon noble woman. She protected me, but somehow stayed invisible for most of the time we were together. I cannot rule out others being with her, that I couldn’t notice.” I explain.
Amelie: “A demon noble? Did she tell you her name, or give you any way to identify who she is?” She asked with thinking pose.
Celia: “She said that her name was Yona, but other than that, no… Wait! She gave me her family emblem.” I say before reaching into my pouch to get out that badge that Yona gave me.
Upon only seeing it for only a few seconds, Amelie quickly shoved it right back into my pouch. What the fuck? Is Yona’s family notorious, or something?…
Amelie: “Celia, you are truly a funny girl.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “And what of Yona’s family? Are they important, or something?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Amelie: “I won’t tell you. I would also advise against showing that badge to anyone else.” She said with a serious tone.
Celia: “Why not?” I ask.
Amelie: “Because it is funny.” She said with a wink.
Celia: “…”
Amelie: “Regardless, you were very lucky that only Yona and I know of your secret. Though, some of her maids might have been following along with her in secret. Either way, it is still fine that we know.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “So I should keep my System a secret?” I ask.
Amelie: “Only reveal it to those that you absolutely trust.” She replied.
Like last time, Amelie wordlessly walked around me, while looking at my body with a curious gaze. Like I said before, it wasn’t a pervert gaze, so I just let her do what she wanted.
Amelie: “How did this happen? When I last saw you, your form was that of a child.” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “Some higher beings messed with me. They aged up my body, and gave me the knowledge to speak the common language of humans.” I reply.
Amelie: “You have the eyes of the Gods and Goddesses on you? Ah, finally someone who can share my pain!” She said with an excited tone, while giving me another face to chest hug.
Celia: “Huh?” I say with spiral eyes.
Amelie: “Oh, sorry. One of the Goddesses has her eyes on me. I have her interest, and her desire to wed, and probably also bed me.” She said with an annoyed tone after she released me.
Celia: “Well, I am sorry about that.” I say with a deadpan tone and expression.
The revelation that those higher beings even mess with non reincarnater’s, kinda shocks me… Is this world just their playground now? Ruina has been silent for a while, so I cannot rely on her to answer this question…
Amelie: “How did you even end up in this situation?” She asked.
Celia: “After the thing with the higher beings, I ended up being teleported mid air. Ah, right, I used the teleportation array to get here.” I reply.
Amelie: “Go on.” She gestured for me to continue.
Celia: “Not much happened after that. I just saved two noble women from some knights pretending to be bandits. I was told that we were going to the Guild to get my ID. That is how I ended up in that situation that you saved me from.” I continued.
Amelie: “You saved them, and then they betrayed you like this?” She asked with a raised eyebrow and an angry tone.
Celia: “So it seems. It pisses me off as well.” I say with a fed up tone.
Amelie: “As am I. Now then, shall we go explore this beautiful kingdom?” She offered.
Celia: “What about the Guild? Also, I do not have any money… I mean, Celestium.” I reply.
Amelie: “We will still get your ID. If they’re that worried about you, then they can just look up your records once it’s done.” She said with a shrug.
Celia: “What about the Celestium?” I ask.
Amelie: “It’s all on me!” She said with a bright smile.
Like that, she grabbed my hand, and dragged me to another private room. It seems like Amelie has sway over the Guild as well… Once in the room, an employee entered it after we sat down. I was then guided on how to get my ID. I just needed to prick my finger on this weird magic looking contraption, and then it would print out my ID.
Doing just that, I felt a sharp but minuscule pain in my finger tip. A few minutes after doing so, the machine made a bunch of concerning noises, and then printed out an oddly nice looking, and thick ID. On the ID, the only information on it wasn’t anything to be concerned about.
It just said my Age, my race, and my name. My name was written down as Celia, my age was 16, and my race was human. I am completely safe! I just need to not get trapped in a room with Kirva once more… After that, Amelie guided me out of the Guild, and we went to explore this city. Ah, I am actually excited!
