Chapter 30: Old Friend?

(*Celia’s POV*)

Ria stood in front of her door after she opened the door for me. She looked to be nervous. Oh no… She isn’t going to say that we can’t be together, right?… If not, then why call me this late?

Ria: “Thank you for coming to my room so late. I am sure that Nia and Lia are missing your warmth, Celia.” She said with a giggle.

Celia: “It’s fine. Whatever you want to say to me, will be important, right? Of course, I will come when you call me, Ria.” I say as I hold one of her hands in mine.

Ria: “I know… But what I will be telling you, well, it might ruin the relationship that we have together.” She said with a sad expression.

Celia: “Aw… so we can’t be wives?” I ask with a sad tone.

Ria: “If… If you still wish for it after tonight, then yes, we can.” She said while not being able to look me in my eyes.

She then explained to me something that she found to be very heavy. I already knew her, and she knew me. Not in this second life of mine, but in my first.

It’s been so long, that I don’t recall what her name was at that time, and nor does she. But we knew each other when the world was in the process of being destroyed. She was not only my friend, but someone I trusted dearly.

Ria told me that she was somewhat responsible for my death. Once I heard those words, I was completely enraged! I couldn’t believe that I wanted to marry such a person! Why the fuck would I be with someone that got me killed? After tonight, I never want to see her again!

That is how most people would react, probably. But not me. I love Ria, and that isn’t ever going to change. Besides, because of what she did, I got this second life. Can I even call my first try an actual life? I only continued living in that life, just because I was, and am still quite stubborn.

Celia: “I see… Thanks for telling me this, Ria. I am sure that admitting this to me was very hard.” I say with a warm tone as I pat her head.

Ria: “Celia?… How can you still accept me after learning what I did?” She asked with a confused expression.

Celia: “Because I died back then, I was given the chance to live this amazing life. Besides, that was literally thousands of years ago. I am not that petty, you know?” I say with a laugh.

Ria: “…I… I didn’t expect for you to accept this so easily.” She said with tears running down her face.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

With a smile, I asked to kiss her, and she gave me consent to do so. I then gave her a long deep kiss. It wasn’t sexual, mind you. It was romantic.

Ria: “Can you… Can you give me some time?” She asked after we parted lips.

Celia: “More time? I swear that you’ve asked this of me before already.” I reply with a raised eyebrow.

Ria: “I know… but I need more time to accept being in a relationship with you. I thought that telling you all this would cause you to distance yourself from me for a while. Which would have given me enough time to think.” She said with an embarrassed tone.

Celia: “Ria, I am not getting any older. You know, because I am practically immortal? If you need more time, then I will give it to you. Even if you need a few, or even a hundred years to forgive yourself and accept me as your wife. I will wait.” I say with a bright smile.

Ria responded by pulling me into a hug, and then crying onto my shoulder. The entire time, I just rubbed her cute little head while she cried her eyes out. Did I forgive her too fast? Fuck you! Ria is cute, beautiful, absolutely wonderful, and I will not listen to anyone slander her!

For the first time in my life, I picked up Ria in a princess carry and put her onto her bed. I even tucked her in. She was already wearing her nightgown, so unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to undress, and then redress her. What a shame…

Ria: “Celia… don’t tell Amelie, but I think that I love you slightly more than her...” She said with a blushed face.

Celia: “Ah, what good blackmail material you have given me!” I say with an excited tone.

Ria: “…”

Celia: “Don’t worry, I won’t tell her. Now then, you should go to sleep, my dear Ria.” I say with a smile as I rubbed her head.

She quietly nodded her cute head, and then I left her room. She has a lot to think about, after all. What she told me tonight, she had probably bottled up for a long time. But my constant flirting with her caused her to finally come clean about it.

I understand why such a thing would cause her so much pain, but it was truly so damn long ago. I would be labeled as the most pettiest being in the world if I hated her for something that happened so long ago.

Now, I just have to hope that she can forgive herself for what happened. I’ve already done the first steps for her, as I forgave her. Now the rest is in her hands, not mine.

As I made my way back to my room, I saw that Nia was wide awake. She was covered in blood, and so was the room. On the floor, were clearly dead Elven assassins.

Well, they weren’t Elves, as they were male, but they were fielding the emblem of the Elves. So they were probably hired help, or something along those lines.

Seeing Nia’s scythe covered in the blood of our enemies, as well as the woman herself covered in blood, just reminds me of one of the reasons why I fell in love with her…

Fuck… if only Viva told us about that little trick of hers… Not even Ria can see through it… But there is no time to waste! There are other people living in this house that aren’t super powerful like us…

Celia: “Nia, please wake up and look after Lia. I will go through the rest of the house and save the others.” I say with a serious tone.

Nia: “Alright. Go save Viva first, they’re probably their main target.” She suggested.

Celia: “Okay, I think so as well.” I reply.

Nia: “Not that I have to worry, but please be safe, Celia.” She said with a smile.

Celia: “Of course. You stay safe as well, dear.” I say before planting a kiss on her lips.

Her suggestion is probably correct. Without even bothering to put on better clothes than my nightgown, I took out my sword that Solia gifted me, and ran to Viva’s room. I just hope that I won’t be too late to save her…
