Chapter 68: I've Kidnapped her...
(*Yona’s POV*)
With a sigh, I held onto Celia tightly. I then used Darkness magic to teleport back to my castle. Though, before I left, I made sure to destroy the tracking magic on Celia. Once the dark mist enveloped us, it soon vanished. Revealing my throne room. Around me were my loyal subjects. The head maid, Mar, kneeled at my feet.
Mar: “My Lordess, we humble servants welcome your return.” She said with an even tone.
Yona: “I still have to make appearances back in Brestia’s capital city, so I haven’t fully returned.” I reply.
Mar: “Regardless, we welcome you back. My Lordess… who might this woman be?” She asked.
Yona: “My future wife, Celia Velence.” I answer.
Mar: “Ah, so our humble Lordess has finally found a wife? How wonderful!” She said with a happy tone.
Yona: “It would be wonderful, but Celia isn’t willing. In fact, I kidnapped her.” I reply with an annoyed tone.
Mar: “F-forgive me, my Lordess. I wasn’t aware…” She said with a pleading tone.
Yona: “Forget it… I remember a few years ago, you told me that you had a specific room of this castle prepared to keep my future wife in, right?” I ask.
Mar: “Yes, my Lordess. It has been maintained until this very day. Once Lady Celia is put there, regardless of her strength, she will not escape.” She answered.
Yona: “Good. Take her there right away. I was panicked, so I used too much of my energy to knock her out. Celia will be asleep for at least a week.” I say, handing off Celia to Mar.
Mar left the throne room, and I just sat down on my throne. Finally… It has been 19 years since I’ve sat on this throne, let alone been to my country. Even if Celia manages to escape that room, she won’t escape my kingdom.
My kingdom is an entire, separate continent from where Brestia is located. She may be able to leave the castle, but leaving this continent won’t be possible at all. That is my only solace in this decision of mine…
Celia will obviously hate me greatly for this. I am very much aware of that. But who told her to catch my eye? Or rather, I wouldn’t have taken her if she just looked attractive. Who told her to completely capture my heart and soul?
Asmerelda: “My Demon Lordess, I have dealt with that weak army, and added their bones to my skeleton army.” She said while kneeling on the ground, after teleporting here.
Yona: “So fast?” I ask.
Asmerelda: “Unfortunately, most of their soldiers were fake. They were just random villagers that were forced to fight.” She answered.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Yona: “I see…” I say with a sigh.
So it was a premature decision, then? Even with that number, malnourished humans wouldn’t be Celia’s match. Even with tens of thousands of them. Dammit… Almost always, I operate with complete logic. But, of course, the one time that I act upon the whims and wishes of my heart, I end up making a mistake.
Without informing anyone, I went back to Brestia. Taking out and de-armoring Gale once more, I set off to the capital city. The surrounding area was an ugly battlefield. I was sure that I ordered them to be sneaky about it…
Oh, well. It would be very hard to prove that it was me who destroyed that army. After riding for a while, I made it back to the city. The gate wasn’t closed, but there were many knights guarding it. Flashing my family emblem, I was let in with ease.
As I rode into the city, I was stopped by Penni, Celia’s personal maid. Unlike a normal maid, this woman was very strong. Of course, not on the same level as Victoria. But strong enough to where I couldn’t control her.
Penni: “Lady Yona… where might Lady Celia be?” She asked.
Yona: “I… I don’t know.” I reply with a feigned sadness.
Penni: “Huh? What happened to her?” She asked with a nervous tone.
Yona: “On our way back to the city, she saw the massive army surrounding it. Before I could stop her, she jumped off my horse, and ran to fight them. Lady Celia was so fast, Gale couldn’t keep up with her.” I reply.
Penni: “Then what?” She replied.
Yona: “Then I lost sight of her. I stayed in the same spot, hoping that she would return to it. But she never did.” I say, with tears flowing down my face.
Penni: “…”
I’ve always been good at acting, but these tears were real. Due to my impatientness, I ended up ruining any chance of developing a normal relationship with Celia. Now, I have to somehow break down her walls, while still keeping her captive in my castle.
These tears were from that specific opportunity that I will no longer have. While Penni was shocked, Victoria, Selen, and Clarisa showed up next to us. I guess that they quickly came back to deal with the kingdom of Cestren’s army.
Victoria: “Celia… is gone?” She asked.
Yona: “I’m sorry… I don’t know where she went…” I reply.
Selen: “…The tracking magic that I put on her is gone as well.” She said with a grim tone.
Ah, so she was the one who put a tracker on Celia? They must really care about her. Tracking magic requires the user to constantly give up a portion of their mana to keep the tracker alive. This is bad… they will surely suspect me.
Yona: “…”
Oddly, they didn’t suspect me at all. Instead, I was able to wave them goodbye, and leave on my way. Once out of the sight of anyone, I unsummoned Gale, and put on my ring of invisibility. Just because they let go me, doesn’t mean that they don’t suspect me in secret.
Clarisa: “Maybe she found who she was looking for, and she left?” She suggested.
Victoria: “Without saying goodbye? Celia isn’t the type of person who would leave without doing that bare minimum…” She denied with a confident tone.
Selen: “She did find her.” She said with a sigh.
Victoria: “So she left us? How do you know that she found her?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Selen: “Victoria… are you blind? Yona Blaire doesn’t just have the same first name as Celia’s mother, she even looks exactly as Celia described that she would look like. I can’t believe that you agreed with Yona marrying Celia…” She said with an angry tone.
Clarisa: “So… what? Celia found her mother, and now her mother wants to marry her, so she ran away?” She proposed.
Victoria: “That might be the case… Regardless of where she went, Celia is strong enough to deal with it. Besides, Yona is still here in this city. Celia won’t leave this dimension without her in tow.” She said with a sigh.
Mother?… What… what do they mean!? Celia didn’t chase me away, all because she already knew me? How could I possibly ever be Celia’s mother? I’ve never had a child before… But… that would explain why I feel so connected to her.
Did Celia know me in a past life, so she came here to this dimension to find and take me with her? I can’t let that happen! I don’t want to be her mother; I want to be her wife! That Creator… she must have manufactured this situation. She needs to do some answering of my questions…
