Chapter 73: How do I Leave This Room?
(*Celia’s POV*)
I haven’t seen Yona this entire time, even though it’s been over a week since she kidnapped me. Either she is a very busy woman, or it is because Yona feels too guilty for what she did to me.
This is understandable. After all, when you hurt someone, you don’t want them to forgive you right away. Unless you’re a horrible person, someone forgiving you without you doing something to earn their forgiveness is far more painful than if they never forgave you at all. And I know that Yona is a good person, deep down. So she must be in a terrible war with her mind and heart.
Celia: “Can I leave this room?” I ask.
Mar: “No.” She quickly denied.
Celia: “Why not?” I reply.
Mar: “You will run.” She answered.
Celia: “I won’t.” I deny.
Mar: “…”
Celia: “I truly love luxury, Mar. I’d honestly take being forced to live in this room over trying to run away from Yona. I would have to stay in terrible places and eat bad food. That sounds horrible to me.” I say with a sigh.
Mar: “Then why do you want to leave this room? It has everything that you need in it. And anything it doesn’t have can be asked for and brought to you. Such as food, drinks, and snacks.” She replied.
Celia: “Ah, so people that are in prison should be perfectly happy, right?” I joking reply.
Mar: “…”
Food, drinks, snacks, entertainment. Those things are all good, but they won’t make living in a prison a good experience. Far from it. Just having your base needs tended to isn’t conducive to someone being happy.
All rich people should be happy, right? They have almost infinite wealth at their disposal, how could they ever be unhappy? Money doesn’t buy or give you happiness, neither do your base needs. This is the reason why someone who is beyond poor, can be happy, and a rich person can be absolutely miserable. At least, this is one of the lesson that I always taught in my classes.
Celia: “So, there you have it. I would love this room if I wasn’t forced to stay in it.” I say.
Mar: “But you still cannot leave, Lady Celia.” She denied once more.
Celia: “I will not run, I swear it upon my life.” I say with a serious tone.
Mar was about to deny me once more, but someone opened up the door to my room. It was Yona. There were dark circles under her eyes, so it seems that my estimate about her suffering was correct.
Yona: “Will you really not run, Celia?” She asked.
Celia: “I won’t. You’re beating yourself up over taking me, if you want to get my forgiveness, I’ve already forgiven you.” I reply.
Yona: “…”
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Celia: “But if you need more of my forgiveness, then letting me actually be able to leave this room would be a start. I like the room, I really do. I love pampering girls just as much as I love being pampered. I just want my freedom.” I explain.
Yona: “You want freedom? But… I’ve already taken that away from you.” She replied with a remorseful tone.
Celia: “You’ve only taken it away by forcing me to live in this room. If I can go wherever I want in this castle, I will regain my freedom.” I reply with a smile.
Yona: “…Give me a few days to think it over.” She replied with an unsure tone.
A few days? But I am soooooo bored! I am a very fast reader, so I’ve read all the books here. And I’ve played all the single player games too! The games that require more than one player, I haven’t touched. None of the maids would play with me…
Celia: “Think it over within an hour.” I suggest.
Yona: “You can’t wait a few days?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “Do it in an hour, or I will resent you. Either that, or you have to stay here in the room with me until you come to a decision.” I say with a serious tone.
Yona: “…”
The maids had a grim look on their faces. I guess that no one has ever spoken, or demanded something of Yona like this before? That’s fine. It just so happens that Yona hasn’t ever met someone as important as I am so far. The thinking pose and expression, and lack of anger, proves that.
*An Hour Later.*
Yona: “You can leave, but you need four maids to follow you everywhere.” She proposed.
Celia: “Okay, thanks!” I say with a happy tone, before running up to her and giving her a tight hug.
Did I not get my words through properly? I never said that I needed to be alone the entire time… Ah… I haven’t had a bath in so damn long! Mar would use always use cleaning magic on me. After all, there wasn’t an attached bath to this room.
Yona: “You’re fine with being watched, Celia?” She asked with an unsure tone.
Celia: “Watched? When did I ever say that I didn’t want anyone to follow me? I just want to be able to go where I want to.” I reply with a head tilt.
Yona: “And what if you want to go outside?” She asked with a grim tone.
Celia: “Then I will ask for your permission to do so. Though, I have no intentions on going outside anytime soon. I do somewhat like fighting and killing things, but I actually much prefer to stay inside most of the time.” I reply with a thinking pose.
Yona: “…”
Celia: “Ah, by the way, could you apologize to that woman for me?” I ask.
Yona: “What woman?” She said with a confused tone.
Celia: “That necromancer. I did destroy a lot of skeletons in her army. And since she is in your group, I technically hurt your army by proxy.” I answer.
Ah, now that is a nice expression, Yona! So many different thoughts are swimming around in her mind. How did I know this? Is there a spy somewhere? Is someone plotting against me? What else does she know?
Yona: “How… How did you figure it out?” She asked.
Celia: “Yona… are you insulting my intelligence? You’re telling me that a powerful Demon Lordess had trouble fighting off a random necromancer? And that necromancer just so happened to be using a substitute body? Of course she was one of yours!” I say with an annoyed tone.
Yona: “…”
Celia: “That plan was pretty decent. It would have taken me a while to figure it out. But since you took me, it was easy to put the pieces together.” I say with a proud tone.
Yona: “Easy? I am sure that you had plenty of time to figure it out while staying in this room.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “Rude!!! I’ll have you know that I figured it out within seconds of waking up in this room!” I say with a pout.
Yona: “…No lie…” She said with a shocked tone.
Damn… Yona can see if someone is lying or not? Fuuuuuck! I used to have that ability, and I have barely even had the chance to fucking use it! I have to make sure to be careful with my answers, and avoid questions that shouldn’t be asked by Yona…
Celia: “So? I am free now, right?” I ask.
Yona: “No.” She replied.
Celia: “Huh? You’re going back on your word now?” I reply with an aggrieved tone.
Yona: “You can go to anywhere within the castle. Just as long as you have at least four maids following you. One of them must be Mar, as well.” She replied.
Celia: “Do my words not make sense to you, Yona? That means that I am free!” I say with a pout.
Yona: “No…You truly make no sense to me at all. I would love to show you around the castle, but I have business to deal with.” She replied while rubbing my head.
I did it! I convinced my mother, who wants to marry me, that I won’t run from her! Why is my life like this? Ah, who cares? Not me! I have an entire castle to explore! I hope that it will be just like a fantasy game. It’s a Demon Lordesses castle, after all!
