Volume 3. Chapter 55: Selen's plan. (Chapter 255.)

Chapter 55: Selen's plan.

(*Selen’s POV*)

Celia got somewhat better, but her Status was still in a very bad way. I don’t know why we’ve never thought of this, but she might be right about just needing to kill things to get better. Even if it doesn’t work, evolving would.

Victoria: “I understand this plan, but how can we get Celia to kill things?” She asked.

I had already explained Celia’s plan to both Clarisa and Victoria.

Clarisa: “Only recently is she able to walk and eat properly. Just a few days ago, she couldn’t even pick up a fork…” She said with a sigh.

Selen: “Isn’t the answer obvious? We just have to take her around with us while adventuring. First, we give her a very powerful magic weapon, and then let her finish off any monster we come across.” I propose.

Victoria: “…That would work. But is it safe for Celia?” She asked with a serious tone.

Selen: “It won’t be safe, but as long as we protect her, it should be fine. Having a damaged soul like Celia‘s isn’t just something that will go away on its own.” I reply.

Victoria: “I can’t leave at the moment. Coltern is raging at our borders.” She said with a groan.

That makes sense… Coltern killed a huge portion of their people. First due to a lack of resources to feed them, and then to them killing off anyone trying to rebel. Now, Coltern is just their royal family, and the military. Rather than solve their own problems, they have decided to try to go to war with us, so that they can take our land and resources.

Clarisa: “It should be fine with just Selen and I. We can protect Celia well. And we don’t have to go to any truly dangerous places.” She said with a confident tone.

Victoria: “…Fine. Please keep her safe. Even if she herself doesn’t think so, I still see myself as her mother. If she died… Well, I have already lost one daughter. I don’t know if I could stand to lose another one…” She said with a sad expression.

Selen: “Of course. Then, we will be off now.” I reply.

Victoria: “Stay safe, please.” She pleaded.

With a wave of my hand, I left Victoria’s office with Clarisa in tow. Clarisa used to be very haughty, but with what happened to Celia, she has become far more mature than before we met Celia. Just another gift that Celia’s given us, I guess…

Clarisa: “What kind of weapon will you be giving her? Penni’s dagger was already returned to her. And even if it wasn’t, that dagger was close to being broken.” She asked with a curious tone.

Selen: “Of course, it will be a dagger again this time. A very light one, too.” I reply before taking the dagger out of my storage ring.

Clarisa: “…You’re willing to give her that dagger? Selen, once it chooses a someone, it can’t be given to anyone else until the chosen person dies. Wasn’t it supposed to be a wedding gift to whoever you marry in the future?” She asked with a nervous expression.

Selen: “I am aware of that. And I have no intentions of marrying Celia. This dagger will help her out immensely, and giving it to her is the least I can do.” I reply with a smile.

Clarisa: “I get it… This System is really impressive. It’s like having a perfect teacher, who will always tell you exactly what you need to do to get stronger.” She replied with a sigh.

Selen: “We will leave today, so go get ready. Bring as many healing items as you can. Just in case.” I advise.

Clarisa walked back to her room, and I walked back over to Celia’s room. Despite being from a very powerful family, Clarisa was pretty much free to do as she sees fit. Which includes staying here in Victoria’s estate for four years…

Selen: “Celia, are you ready to leave?” I write out on her hand.

Celia: “Leave?” She wrote back on my hand.

Selen: “We decided to go forward with your plan. Clarisa and I will be with you for the entire time, so don’t worry. And, here is a new weapon for you.” I wrote.

Taking the dagger, Celia unsheathed it. The room wasn’t almost lit up by a white light. When it faded, Celia was peering at her new dagger with an interesting gaze upon it. She looked at me with a smile, and then gave me a tight hug after sheathing the dagger.

Was it really that impressive? I didn’t bother to inspect the dagger before giving it to her…

Okay… No wonder she was so happy about the dagger. My family never mentioned that it was something so powerful. Not to mention, I wasn’t even sure if it would accept Celia as its owner. Unless I love a person, it shouldn’t accept anyone that isn’t a demon.

Celia: “What’s wrong? Regretting giving this to me?” She wrote.

Selen: “No… I am just confused why it accepted you so easily. It is only supposed to accept demons.” I write in reply.

Celia: “Yona should be a demon, and my next evolution will be a demon and human hybrid, similar to you, Clarisa and Victoria.” She answered.

Selen: “Your mother is a demon? Then, why are you a human now?” I write with my finger brimming with curiosity.

Celia: “I have… three mothers. All of them adopted me.” She replied while putting a cheeky smile on her face.

Selen: “…”

Then why bring it up as a reason for being able to use the dagger!? Ah… Celia… even in a weakened state, she is just as cheeky as Victoria told me she was. I guess that is a good thing, as it means that she isn’t too sad at the moment.

With a sigh that I know that Celia couldn’t hear, I picked her up and left the room. Waiting outside was Clarisa. When I last saw her, she was wearing a very nice dress. Now, she is wearing an adventurers outfit. As for me, I am wearing a robe, which is what I always wear. Wait… Celia is still wearing a dress!

Celia: “I will not change into anything else, Selen. I have killed armies of thousands, all while wearing pretty dresses. I won’t be changing that habit anytime soon.” She wrote out on my shoulder.

I didn’t even bring it up, but it seemed that Celia guessed what I was going to ask of her. Oh, well. She looks cute in her pure white dress, and since it is something that she’s always done, I can’t change her mind. With another sigh, us three left Victoria’s estate, outside was a carriage already waiting for us. I just hope that this plan will work…
