Chapter 32: One of These Days…
(Celia’s POV)
When I arrived at this dimension, I was in a car. I did know how to drive, so that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that the car was upside down, and the situation around me wasn’t any better.
Kicking the windshield of the car, I was able to pop it off where it was set in place. Though it did shatter into a few million pieces. This being shatter glass and all, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Crawling out from the car, I was faced with something horrible…
Screams Coming from Everywhere!
It was like I was having a PTSD flashback to my life before I ended up in my original dimension. That is to say, this world, or rather, this dimension, was going through an apocalypse. And I just so happen to be smack dab placed at the start of the damn end of the world…
Man: “Hey, you! Give me you money!” He exclaimed in a hurry.
Celia: “Huh?” I reply with a head tilt.
Man: “Didn’t you hear what I said!?” He yelled in anger.
Celia: “Are you an idiot? Money will soon be useless in this world, you know.” I explain.
Man: “…”
Celia: “…”
Man: “Then, give me your phone, or something.” He relented.
Is this guy stupid? No, really… Isn’t it a little too early to start looting? It would look like the apocalypse just started, and I just climb out of a car accident. What the hell are you thinking!?
Celia: “Do you have something wrong with your brain? Phones will also be useless. Just go loot a fucking grocery store or something.” I deny with my arms crossed.
Man: “…You’re right. Sorry…” He said with a slightly remorseful tone before running away, probably in the direction of a grocery store.
In such a situation, food and water will be the most important. Some would focus on needless material things that they want, rather than things that they need to acquire to survive. How foolish…
Looking up, I saw a broken down highway bridge. Ah, so I fell from there? How the hell did I survive? What’s more, I looked the same as always. Why is God spoiling me more than one of my wives? Heh…
If someone saw me looking into the windows of my ruined car, admiring my looks, they would probably think that I was some crazy person. But to be fair, I kinda don’t think that I fall into the category of “normal” at all.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Once you become something like a Goddess, normality loses its meaning the longer you exist. For instance, if I wasn’t some immortal and very powerful being, I wouldn’t consider having so many wives. Or even being fine with my mothers being in a romantic relationship with me.
But that’s enough about my life. For now, I need to focus on this moment before me. And what was happening? Chaos…
Yell!
Crash!
Celia: “…”
Honestly… how that man figured that robbing me was a good idea, all while this shit was happening, amazes me. Cars were crashing into each other, due to the crazy earthquakes, buildings were falling and breaking, people were looting.
It was pure chaos, and nothing more. This world is odd… Look, through novels, movies, etc. Depictions of the start of any apocalypse, is very similar to this display. But I lived through one before already.
This shouldn’t happen. Instead, there should be some chaos, but nothing like this. For instance, why the fuck would you care about looting a Smart TV, while buildings were falling, people were killing each other, and the sky was literally raining fire?
The chaos happening now isn’t normal at all. Like with how weirdly brazen that man was, it was like these people were being influenced to do these things. Is that what this is? Some arbiter of chaos caused this apocalypse? How interesting!
Celia: “I shouldn’t stand around thinking.” I say to no one at all.
It didn’t matter if I sounded like a crazy person. Besides, if you think that someone talking to themselves makes them seem crazy, then you’re just silly. But that is super besides the point. I, unlike the other people, should run the fuck away from this city.
Cars weren’t something that you’d want to steal right now. Not because you couldn’t, but because the roads were all fucked up. Either through the earthquakes, or the current chaos happening around this place. With that, I set out to make my way out of this city.
Many Hours Later.
On my way out of the city, I raided some grocery stores. I had picked up a backpack on the way, so I filled it up with food and water. Of course, some people tried to stop me. But that didn’t matter at all.
Even being a normal human, with an adult body, I was more than able to easily deal with any who crossed my path. After all, they weren’t anything other than normal humans as well.
The weird situation only got weirder, though. While fighting them, once I dealt them an incapacitating blow, they seemed to wake up, confused at what they were doing. I would chop it up to brain damage, but everyone did this same thing.
My theory that someone was affecting them was most likely correct. As to what, or who, was doing it, I have no real idea. If I was to make a guess, Alisa was reclaiming her role as a world destroyer… Which pisses me off.
God, how dare you force this suffersome role upon my daughter once again! At my words, God showed up in front of me. She had a lewd look on her face, and looked to have just come from a sex session, smelling of sex as well…
God: “I’ll have you know that I was having sex with my wife just now, but I stopped to defend my honor.” She said with a joking tone.
Celia: “…Go on.” I reply.
God: “Alisa specifically wanted this, and yes, you are right about her being the one that caused this apocalypse to happen.” She replied.
Celia: “Why did she want this?” I say with a confused expression.
God: “Simply put, she doesn’t think that she deserves your full love. Alisa is one of those kinds of people, you see. Regardless of how much love and care you give her, she won’t ever feel like she earned it.” She explained.
Celia: “…”
God: “So, this is her gambit. After witnessing the chaos she’s caused, will you still love her as your daughter? If so, then she is willing to swallow her doubts, and become your daughter fully.” She continued.
Celia: “…”
I… I ended up failing Alisa? Is it because I couldn’t spend much time with her? She doesn’t deserve to feel like she hasn’t earned my love. This… Alisa might be the toughest family member of mine to save so far…
