Chapter 30: Making it Through it All.

(Celia’s POV)

Unlike me, June’s Status wasn’t reset. Though she was still weak. When I met her, she was only level 30. If it wasn’t due to her not having a weapon, those Goblins wouldn’t have been able to imprison her.

Since she was aware of how serious this game was, she became an adventurer, and went with me out on various quests. By doing this, June had gotten very strong. Even with us still being humans, we were very powerful.

Celia: “Are you sure that you can go out on a Goblin killing quest?” I ask with a concerned tone.

June: “I wasn’t raped by them, only annoyed and almost starved to death. I have no fear of them, Celia.” She answered with a confident smile.

Currently, June and I were out on a quest. In that same forest, a far bigger Goblin nest was found. Apart from the normal Goblins, there were Hob Goblins, Goblin Shamans, and even Goblin Champions. At least, that was what was in the report.

The reward was huge, but we didn’t care about it. Rather, we only cared about the EXP we’ll get from killing them all. But in truth, I wasn’t in need of that, either. June needed levels, while I was already maxed out.

June: “It shouldn’t take that much more for me to reach max level, Celia. Regardless of how many, there will surely be enough EXP in that nest.” She added.

Celia: “I hope so…” I reply with a sigh.

I did inform June of my cheating, and she was somewhat jealous about it. But there wasn’t anything that she could do to get the benefits that I have. So she reluctantly gave up her short pouting session. Though I maxed out my level a while back, I haven’t taken a look at my Status since last time.

Why? Well, because I made a promise to June. One where I won’t check it until she maxes out her race level as well. I didn’t mind, as I was surely far ahead of everyone else. We didn’t want to go too far away from the city, but we did find some very high level monsters, which is why June leveled up so fast.

After all, I was there to carry her through each fight. Prior to taking on this quest, June informed that she was currently level 95. Of course, the amount of EXP that she needs compared to me is… way higher. But these higher race Goblins should do the trick, indeed. Now then, let us find that silly, soon to be destroyed, little Goblin nest!

Some Walking Later.

Finally, we made it to that nest. Rather than a cave, the Goblins had taken an extremely large tree as their nest. No, really. This thing was HUGE! If it wasn’t for them surely having captives, we could have just burned the tree down…

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Since that fire plan was destined to be denied by all involved (June and I), we just walked into the tree like normal. Killing a bunch of normal Gobs, we soon made it to the main area of this rooted, underground nest. Facing us, were those afore mentioned higher Goblin races, but we didn’t really care about them in the least.

Slash!

The war had started, but June and I were more than enough to handle these Goblins. In fact, though we have only been with the guild for a short time, we were already very famous adventurers. Even faced with thousands of Gobs, our expressions were very deadpan.

Cut!

The few hundred women that were piled up in one area looked at us two in pure awe. Normally, this fight would be one that countless generations would pass down, talking about our bravery. But it wasn’t. We acted like this was just some bothering business to us, rather than the start of a grand legend of ours.

Instead, this was just a job, one that was easy for us to do. June was always a very levelheaded woman, and that was still true to this very day. Once she knew we were in some silly cosmic game, she focused heavily on getting stronger.

The only thing that distracted her… was the absence of her dear wife. Miracle is also interesting to me. Though I was a higher race than her, a True Goddess is something very rare. Technically speaking, it is about the same rank as a Highest Goddess. But the difference is that… no one really knows how to become a True God or True Goddess.

Thankfully, I was able to assure June that her wife was most likely still alive. After all, that Status of hers that I once peeped on, was a lie. Ria didn’t want me to be discouraged, so she made Miracle look weaker. Even now, Ria says that Miracle was still far stronger than her. Anyway, I should focus on the fighting!

Stab!

A Goblin Champion was just slain by me, as I ran my sword through its overly large head. The monster fell to the ground, and, without even taking a break or breather, I started on killing the next group. June wasn’t any lesser than me right now, taking to killing just as many Goblins as I did.

She was somewhat slower, as I near deathed many of the Gobs, as I wanted June to get more EXP this way. As such, she had to finish off quite a few of them. But it didn’t hamper her slaughter a bit.

Cut!

As I cut the head of another Goblin Champion off, I look at the captured women. Hm… I cannot tell if they’re happy about this, or utterly terrified by us… Well, at least they’re keeping still, and not trying to run away. How much longer will this last?

June: “I maxed out my race level, Celia. Let’s finish this already.” She said after jumping to my side before returning to kill me Gobs.

Celia: “Okay.” I reply, cutting a small Gob in half.

A Lot of Goblin Murder Later.

Since she had reached max level, there was really no reason to go slow anymore. So the end of this nest had come quicker than expected. Under our guide, we took the women out of that nest. Since we realized that the number would probably be large, we hired a convoy to wait for us to finish the slaughter.

June: “Are you ready to check?” She asked.

Celia: “That depends… are you?” I reply to her question with the same question.

June: “Oh, I am ready. I am more than curious about what we’ll end up evolving into, after all.” She replied with a nod.

After it was all said and done, June and I returned to our room at the guild. Sitting on the couch, with June sitting down on the opposite one, we were about to check our Status out. Despite her words, the woman was just as nervous as I was.

June: “…”

Celia: “…”

Finally, building up the courage, I opened up my Status. June was at a loss for words, and so was I. The reason was… Well, rather than just a screen asking us to evolve, something else also popped up. Something that… that… Holy shit… this might be the turning point of the early stages of the game! Ah, I am so damn excited to explore this…
