Chapter 20: Surviving.
(Celia’s POV)
Either this race had a lot of energy, or they spent years digging out this hole. As it was very deep. Thankfully, I was able to draw my sword, as well as stab into the dirt wall to stop my fall. But it wasn’t perfect at all…

Celia: “…”
The hole was deep, but not that wide and long. Due to how it was made, I was able to fall forward and stop my fall. Unfortunately, the fall forward wasn’t that speedy, so I barely saved myself in the end.
My legs were impaled by a few spikes, so I had to use my sword to pull myself up. I had lost a fuck ton of health from this, so I was super not in a good mood. The pain was immense… So much so… that I struggled to stay awake as I pulled myself up.
From starting the game, I had a dagger and sword. Doing something that I haven’t done in years, I switched between each one until I made it out of the hole. Now back on solid ground, my legs were covered in blood, with some annoyingly painful holes in them. With the injuries, it was hard to keep my legs steady.

Blue Kobold Leader: “Human cub, I applaud your gusto.” He said with a praising tone.
Toss!
Landing at my feet… was a bottle filled with some red liquid. I hadn’t used such a thing in so long, but I think it was a health potion. Why the hell is he letting me heal up? Was he more honorable than I thought?…
Blue Kobold Leader: “This was my bad. I had mistakenly led you to a death trap, rather than one to capture you. Worse is that I realized this far too late… As an apology, use that health potion.” He suggested.
Celia: “…Why?” I ask.
Blue Kobold Leader: “It is the honorable thing to do, Human cub. Drink it, and then we shall fight. Beat me, and you can go free.” He explained.
Glug!
Taking the bottle, I popped the cork off and then drank it down in one gulp. My legs were now hole free, but my HP Stat wasn’t maxed out. Ah, it seems like this System, unlike my normal one, accounts for blood loss…
Celia: “Is it to the death?” I ask with a curious tone.
Blue Kobold Leader: “To the death? No, no. I must survive for my tribe, Human cub. The winner will be decided on if they get just about land a deathblow.” He denied.
With a nod, I took out my sword and then faced the Kobold leader. He was clearly the same evolution as Muge, so I didn’t bother to check out his Status.
Clink!
Lightly putting our swords together, I then fought the Kobold. His attacks were fierce, but he couldn’t land a hit on me. The hits, if they did land, would surely hurt me a bunch, if not just kill me outright. But since I was now fighting just one enemy, my skills could shine. This is actually fun…
A few Hours Later.
The fight was nice, with his group not butting in at all. Just thirty minutes in, and the Kobold had given up on winning against me. He knew he couldn’t win, but the man wanted to spar with me.
Just a few hours ago, I was running for my life to get away from him and his hunting party. But now, I was just enjoying a nice spar with him. The Kobold, Gram, had sustained many hits from me, but he wasn’t upset at all.
Gram: “Enough…” He said, practically pleading.
Celia: “You’re done already? Aw…” I pout out.
Gram: “Cub… are you insane? My race is supposed to have ten times the energy of even a well-trained human man… How aren’t you panting right now!?” He exclaimed in confusing through ragged breaths.
Celia: “You aren’t doing anything to skillfully breath, Gram.” I reply, sheathing my sword.
Gram: “What do you mean?” He asked with an excited tone.
Buddy… you were, just hours ago, planning on selling me as a slave. Now, you want me to teach you some of my secrets? Ah, Gram, if only you were a beautiful woman, and I might not be irked about this little excited question of yours.
Celia: “Gram, learning how to properly breath while fighting is very useful. If you learn how, then you fight for far longer than normal.” I reply.
Gram: “Can you teach me? I won’t even ask why you tried to run, rather than just fight us.” He pleaded.
Celia: “Unfortunately, I am decently busy right now.” I deny.
Gram: “Can you at least tell me how I should train?” He said with puppy eyes.
Celia: “…”
Gram: “Not falling for my puppy eyes attack?” He asked with a cute head tilt.
Celia: “I am a lesbian.” I inform with a sigh.
Gram: “Damn… Well, how about I pay you in health potions for the information?” He bargained.
Celia: “…Fine.” I accepted.
Handing me a small bag of about twelve health potions, I then took almost two hours to explain how to properly breathe. And since his group was already here, I explained it to all of them. Soon, I left their side with the potion bag in tow, returning on my earlier journey.
Considering that Gram was a Kobold Leader, I was hopeful that I wouldn’t come across any more of them. With such heavy blood loss, the run, the fight, and my hunger, now I was basically at death’s door. Pushing through my quickly dwindling energy and slowly coming death from starvation, I kept walking toward that fortress. I just hope that they’ll have food for me to eat…
