Chapter 81: Blackmailed by my Mother...
(*Celia’s POV*)
Celia: “You’re making me nervous, Yona.” I reply.
Yona: “It is nothing too horrible, I assure you.” She said with a smile.
Celia: “…”
Yona: “You see, as a Demon Lordess, all demons must listen to my orders. Frankly, to win this war, all I need to do is get in front of each of those three and order them to stop the war.” She said with a shrug.
Celia: “Really? Then… what do you want me to do?” I ask.
Yona: “I need you to go find them and then teleport them back here. Then I can order them to not go against me at all.” She answered.
Teleport? Do I have access to such magic? I did when I still had access to my dungeon, but not anymore. Let alone in this life of mine, where I don’t even have access to the most basic of basic magic…
Celia: “I can’t teleport, though?” I reply.
Not answering with words, Yona took out a small box. Opening it up, there were two pretty rings sat inside. Is she proposing to me?…
Yona: “What’s with that reaction?… Ah, yes. I was going to propose with these rings, but not at the moment.” She said with a giggle.
Celia: “Then why bring them out?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Yona: “These rings have a special magic on them. Once you put yours on, you can always teleport to the other wearer of the pair.” She answered.
Oh, really? Putting the ring on, I didn’t notice anything wrong with it at all. That is to say, Yona didn’t put anything on the ring to trap or trick me. Not that I thought she would, but you never know. I am still not sure if Yona is still interested in me or not.
Yona: “…”
Celia: “What?” I say with a head tilt.
Yona: “You should have listened fully before putting the ring on.” She said, rubbing her forehead in frustration.
Celia: “Why? Something wrong with it?” I ask.
Yona: “It is a binding ring. Once you put it on, not only can you never take it off, but I can always tell where you are located.” She replied.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Celia: “That so? That’s not that big of a deal.” I reply with a shrug.
Yona: “…”
Celia: “?”
Yona: “Celia… you won’t be able to take the ring off…” She said with a remorseful tone.
Celia: “That’s true, but we won’t be in this dimension much longer. As such, it isn’t that big of a deal.” I reply.
Yona: “…”
She then put her ring on, and I then felt an odd connection to her. Hm… this was more intimate that I wanted it to be. This is just a friendship ring between mother and daughter, okay? Solia would probably freak out if she hears about how her wife, Yona, had put a ring on my finger…
Celia: “So… what now?” I ask.
Yona: “…Celia. You have one month.” She said with a serious tone.
Celia: “One month?” I reply.
Yona: “If you can’t get to those three in one month and end the war, then I will follow my original plan and kill them.” She replied with a grim tone.
Celia: “You make this sound easier than it will be, Yona.” I reply with a sigh.
Yona: “Why would it be hard?” She asked.
Celia: “Due to you keeping me in the castle, I am still pretty weak. Victoria and those two had many years to get stronger. I surely don’t even come close to their level.” I explain.
Yona: “…”
Celia: “Frankly, I am confused as to why you’re asking me to do this. Why can’t you just appear before them and get them to give up on this war of theirs?” I ask.
Yona: “It isn’t that simple…” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “What do you mean?” I ask.
Yona: “One of my people betrayed me, which is how Victoria figured out that this continent was a prime piece of land to claim. On top of that, they informed them that I could order them around if I wanted to. So they knew to avoid me like the plague.” She explained.
Hm… that would make it hard to get to them. Selen probably gave each of them something that they could use to block out Yona’s words, or to teleport away from her with ease. Otherwise, the war wouldn’t have come far along.
Celia: “So, what? They won’t run from me?” I assume.
Yona: “I think that it is likely that you can convince them to stop the war, even without me having to order them to stop it.” She nodded.
Celia: “Again, you make it sound so easy.” I reply with a groan.
Yona: “If you wish for them to live, then you must convince, or get them in front of me so that I could order them. There is another threat at play here, as well.” She said with a serious tone.
Celia: “Threat? What kind?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Yona: “Mine.” She replied.
Celia: “…”
Yona: “I have long since thought about what position you sit in my hear and soul. I am split between two ideas, and can’t choose which one to go with.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “…”
Yona: “So this is how it will go… If you fail to end this war in a month, then I will manipulate your memories. You will only remember me as your darling wife. Whatever memories of your past life, you will forget.” She said with a grim tone.
Celia: “…”
Yona: “But… if you manage to do this, stop the war within a month’s time, then I will ask you to explain your reason for coming here. I won’t run from it, nor will I try to change the situation to what I want.” She said with a sad tone.
Yona seemed decently sad, like she assumed that I would actually be able to end this war so fast. Even to this day, Yona’s mind is still in a war with itself. The mind and heart, Yona’s are confused beyond belief.
Yona: “First, you should go after Clarisa. She is on the front lines.” She advised.
Celia: “How should I even get to her?” I ask.
Yona: “Like this.” She said, snapping her fingers.
The next second, I was in some command tent. Clarisa looked shocked at my arrival, and the people around all took out their weapons and pointed them toward me. All very much with the intent to stop or kill me. Clarisa surprised everyone, including me, myself, by running to me and putting me into a tight hug…
