Chapter 67: My Memories are Back, and so is my Wife…

(Alisa’s POV)

The more and more reports that I heard of Celia’s actions, the more I wonder what she actually was. That Ria woman seemed to be very powerful as well… It didn’t even take them long to burn down EVERY kingdom.

Maid: “My Lady, Lady Ria is here to see you.” She informed with a bow after entering the room.

Alisa: “I see. Please let her in.” I order.

With those kingdoms gone, Celia has fulfilled her end of our deal. Now, I will regain my memories, and finally find out what Celia is to me, and what I am to her. Wait… only Ria is here? Where is Celia?

Alisa: “Where is Celia?” I ask once Ria entered the room.

I do feel somewhat uncreative for just repeating word for word the question that I posed in my own head. But my mind was truly only on figuring out where Celia was. She wouldn’t miss this, right?…

Ria: “I will explain that later. Just know that her not being here… isn’t her decision.” She vaguely answered.

Alisa: “…”

Ria: “Regardless, shall I give you your memories back now?” She suggested.

Alisa: “Is Celia not able to come here, no matter what?” I ask.

Ria: “If she could, you very well know that she would, Alisa. Once you get your memories back, you will be even more certain of that.” She explained.

Alisa: “I refuse to get them back until you tell why Celia cannot be here.” I deny with a childish pout.

I needed an answer. Something was wrong, that much I could tell. If it was something important, but not dangerous, then Celia or Ria would have informed me of it.

Ria: “That, I refuse as well. I need to explain it to you and the rest of our family at the same time, as time is limited.” She said with a serious tone.

Our family, she says? Ah, so my guess was right. Celia must somehow be family to me. And Ria’s voice had urgency in it. To think that such a powerful being would look helpless…

Alisa: “Very well, then please give me my memories back.” I agree with a sigh.

Ria: “Good. There will be slight pain in your head, but I will soothe it with healing magic.” She warned.

Placing her hand on my head, I felt some pricking pain invade it. Soon, countless years of memories came flooding into my mind. The endless loneliness that I had forgotten… And the woman, Celia, who had saved me from that crippling nothingness. I remembered it all.

Alisa: “…”

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

I am such a horrible person… What was I even thinking? How higher did I see myself as when compared to Celia? I needed her to prove that she loved me? What kind of bullshit is that!?

Celia went along with this whole plan of mine, indulging me further by waiting as I had asked her. There was nothing to prove at all. Regardless of what I did, Celia had already accepted me, and she still loved me.

This extremely selfish act will haunt me for many years, and I will have to try my very best to make it up to Celia. I am just glad that I didn’t take up too much of her time.

Alisa: “Where is everyone at?” I ask.

Ria: “Currently, we’re living in Heaven. No one died, mind you. And Celia hasn’t found and brought back everyone yet.” She answered.

Alisa: “That so? Then we should leave right away. This dimension doesn’t need either of us to run it.” I propose.

Ria: “In respect to Celia’s efforts, I will leave some of my people here to run it.” She replied.

Alisa: “Really? Thank you.” I say with a smile.

Ria: “It’s what Celia would have asked of me, I am sure.” She replied.

Alisa: “Anyway, we should leave now.” I repeat.

Ria was clearly in a hurry, but why was she unwilling to leave right away? Huh!? She just spit up blood… Oh, no… Did… did they get into a fight with someone strong? Is… Was Celia dead?

Ria: “Celia is alive, and this… me spitting up blood… I will explain it later as well.” She answered my unasked question.

Alisa: “Then we should go now!” I exclaim.

Ria: “Before we do, there is a gift that Celia found for you. And even though she isn’t here to present “it”, you still need to receive “it”.” She replied in an unhurried tone.

A gift? How in the ever loving hell is a gift more important than Ria being hurt? Not to mention, something must have happened with Celia… And why was Ria being so vague in explaining what the gift was?

Alisa: “A gift can be given later…” My words were cut off.

Kami: “Guess who.” She jokingly said with a warm tone, while covering my eyes with her hands.

Alisa: “…”

The voice was different, the size of her hands was somewhat smaller, she was just a little bit taller than before. But I knew who this was. It was my wife… I didn’t answer with words, instead choosing to cry my eyes out before turning around and pulling her into a hug.

Kami: “…”

After a long hug, I gave her a kiss. Such a sweet taste… It was just as good as I remember our kisses being. Yet again, Celia has given me something that I can never repay her for.

I asked her to find my wife, but I never expected her to do so. Rather, I thought it an impossible task. In reality, I just wanted her to have a reason to stick by my side. Until she found my wife, Celia would have to stick with me, right?

Those were my selfish thoughts at that time. I just wanted a good excuse to cling to Celia as long as I could do so. And yet, here she was, my wife. I hadn’t seen her in such a long, long time.

I never thought that I would ever see her again, let alone be able to embrace her like this. Even better, I am finally able to give her the love that she deserves. The timing of this… no gift could ever be better.

Kami: “Yeah, I’ve missed you as well.” She said with a loving tone while rubbing my head.

Alisa: “…Will we be together from now on?” I ask with a nervous tone.

Kami: “We will, I swear it. I made a mistake in leaving you. A mistake that surely hurt and made you worse. Over the next few years, I will do everything in my power to earn your forgiveness.” She answered with a smile.

Alisa: “You don’t need to earn it…” I say with a pout.

Kami: “I do. I respect you that much, Alisa. This relationship of ours will finally be a full commitment. We will actually be wives now.” She said with a serious tone.

Alisa: “…Okay.” I say with more tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

Celia has never met me halfway, instead choosing to give me it all. I have done nothing besides ask for her love, but Celia still gave it, and many more things, to me. Doing everything she could to make me happy, without asking for anything in return.

My reunion with… Kami, is her current name, was cut short. Ria said that, despite the happy time, something bad had happened. And that we all need to hear it.

As such, we quickly left that dimension, and I was once again back in Heaven. The place was even better than before, which meant that God finally took charge of running it properly. I would have loved to explore the revitalized Heaven, but Ria’s news shocked me, and the rest of our family to the very core…
