Chapter 15: Hidden World.

(*Celia’s POV*)

Despite trying to communicate with this person multiple times, she kept attacking me. And, no. It wasn’t in broad daylight, either. Around us, was just pitch black. Either she did what Mona did earlier, or this is some kind of magic that she has. Maybe darkness magic?

I can’t recall if I had access to a spell like this, but it didn’t seem to matter. Like with Mona, this person, who I assume is a woman, isn’t up to my level at all. She also didn’t seem upset that she couldn’t really do anything to me. What is her angle?…

Celia: “Are you done? I am getting bored.” I ask with a sigh.

Cloaked Woman: “You’re the one…” She said with an excited tone.

Celia: “The one what?” I say with a head tilt.

Cloaked Woman: “My name isn’t important, as I am just a low ranked member. But, we could use your help. No, it is more accurate to say that your help was destined.” She explained.

Celia: “And why the hell would I help you?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Cloaked Woman: “Amelie said that you would. Though, only after explaining the situation to you. Don’t worry, we won’t ask for you help without solid evidence of our claims.” She replied.

The woman snapped her fingers, and then the world was bright once more. Amelie is with them? That would explain why I couldn’t find her. Again, at the very least, unless this woman is mind controlled, she believes her words. Being a Goddess has many perks, it seems.

Celia: “Show me to Amelie first.” I say with a serious tone.

Cloaked Woman: “Of course. Please follow me.” She replied.

The woman could fly, so we flew to our destination, whatever it was. I am a little on edge, but I care more about finding Amelie. If my mother is being controlled, I will be majorly pissed the fuck off.

*Hours Later.*

By the time we landed, the sky was dark once more. Our current location was deep inside a forest. There really wasn’t any signs of habitation at all, so this would be a good place to have a secret base.

Cloaked Woman: “Please head inside, I have business to attend to.” She said before gesturing at a slightly invisible building, and then flying away.

With a sigh, I walked into the building. Inside was an oddity… It was like a high-tech military base. Goddammit, Amelie… Her boundless curiosity had got me caught up in something crazy. Wait… don’t I do this all the time as well? Okay, I guess that I am just being a hypocrite, then…

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

No one paid me much mind, as if I was already cleared for access to this place. It’s kinda funny, as none of the people here are in military uniforms. They’re clearly working on something important, but I can’t take it seriously when I see a loli in a pink gothic lolita outfit working diligently on a sci-fi like computer…

Amelie: “Celia! Over here!” She yelled.

Celia: “Amelie…” I reply after getting in front of her.

Amelie: “Ah, my name and not “Mom”? You’re mad, aren’t you?” She said with a nervous tone.

Celia: “Of course I am mad! I’ve been looking for you for so damn long, and here you’re, completely safe!” I exclaim with an annoyed tone.

Amelie: “I understand your anger, but this is more important than us, Celia.” She said with a serious tone.

She is being serious? That is kinda rare for her to do, so I guess that Amelie isn’t playing around. I mean, it doesn’t seem like she stayed with this group out of her curiosity. If so, what is this about?…

Celia: “Okay… What have you gotten us into, Mom?” I ask with a sigh.

Amelie: “A conspiracy!” She said with an excited tone and expression.

Celia: “…”

Okay, maybe it was because of her curiosity… I give up on understanding Amelie. Fuck! This must have been what my wives felt, with me constantly doing crazy things… Doesn’t feel good when you’re on the receiving end. I have to apologize to them when I get back…

Amelie went on to explain what this was all about. What she said was so stupid, I refused to believe it, and thought that she was just messing with me. But, like what that woman said, they had evidence…

With what she showed me, I realized that, despite it sounding crazy, the Devil has come to take over Heaven… From what I know, every Hell is under the control of an Administrator, not the Devil.

Why has the Devil showed up? Well, that is because God is missing… The general theory, is that either the Devil greatly injured God, or she was killed by her. Regardless of what happened, the Devil is here, and she is already trying to take over Heaven.

Celia: “Amelie…” I say.

Amelie: “No, wait! You can’t be mad at me!!!” She exclaimed.

Celia: “And why not? We should be focusing on our exams, not playing hero in some grand holy war…” I reply.

Amelie: “Stop being rude! You know, that I know, that for a fact, you would have ended up helping them regardless of who they found first.” She said with a pout.

Celia: “…Fine.” I reply with a sigh.

Commander: “Amelie is right. Ah, no one uses names here, as it is bad for our safety. Just call me commander.” The woman that showed up said.

Celia: “Commander? But Amelie and I are using our real names.” I reply with a raised eyebrow.

Commander: “Well, you two should be considered freelancers, so it’s fine.” She replied with a shrug.

Amelie: “Celia! Just think, when we get home, we can brag to our family that we saved Heaven! Isn’t that amazing?” She said with an excited tone.

Celia: “Yeah, I guess… Commander, just tell me what we have to do.” I ask with a sigh.

Commander: “I will ask you to complete a task after you’ve rested, as I can tell that both you and Amelie are quite tired.” She replied before walking off.

Tired? Fuck… I am… Do Goddesses need more sleep than usual? Knowing us, we might end up sleeping for over a week. Aren’t they in a hurry? What if we sleep through the takeover of Heaven?…

Amelie: “Come on, Celia! I will guide you to our private room.” She said before grabbing my hand and leading me away.

Celia: “Mom, just admit that you’re still upset that I saved Hell, and you want to be able to say that you’ve also done something crazy and amazing.” I say with a cheeky tone.

Amelie: “You’re Goddess damn right! Ah, you truly are my daughter!” She happily admitted.

Fuck… At least pretend that this wasn’t the case… Amelie has never really been one that cared about saving people. To her, good and evil don’t mean much. So I figured that she just wanted to have something to gloat about. As I watch Amelie happily drag me to our room, a bright smile cropped up on my face.
