Chapter 34: Food and Company.

(Celia’s POV)

Hours later, there weren’t any monsters, and I was just still sitting on a log, pouting the entire time. My promised food never showed up, and I was actually very starving at the moment. You then might ask me a question…

Where was the food and water that I had brought with me? Well… due to God’s promise, I had abandoned the food and water, and just kept the empty backpack. I could use it for whatever items I get from monsters, after all.

Only now did I realize that I had fucked up by abandoning my only source of sustenance. Will I really end up starving to death just a few days into this trip?… As my stomach complained, a pair of hands floated a plate right in front of me.

The hands were ones I recognized with ease, as I would never forget even the tiniest details about my wives. Ria lovingly placed the plate on my lap, and then she gave me some water to drink as well. Ah… such a good wife!

Celia: “Thank you, Ria.” I say with a thankful tone, not even looking back at her.

Ria: “Oh? How did you know it was me?” She asked with a curious tone.

Celia: “How could I not? All of my wives are unique, and I remember every detail about them.” I say with a proud tone.

Ria: “So you say… but what is my second favorite thing? Of course, my favorite thing is you.” She replied with her arms crossed after walking in front of me.

Celia: “Sex.” I answer with a nonchalant tone before taking a bite of my food.

Ria: “…”

Her face blushed red, and she didn’t retort at my answer at all. Look, Ria basically ran an entire sex ring for her and her minions back in our dimension. It should easily make sense that Ria truly does love sex.

And there is nothing wrong with that at all. When it comes to sex, both Lia and I have about the same sex drive. Nia and Ria have high sex drives, though. Keep in mind, but our sex drives are certainly higher than any humans.

Ria: “What kind of world is this one?” She asked, trying to pretend that my answer to her question never occurred.

Celia: “There’s a lot of exposition needed if you want an answer.” I reply with a cheeky tone.

Ria: “As much as I like exposition, could I perhaps just look at your memories instead?” She proposed.

Celia: “No.” I deny.

Ria: “Why not? You’ve never denied me before…” She said with a nervous tone.

Celia: “To deal with the hunger and dehydration, I thought about having sex with my wives. I did it a lot…” I answer with an embarrassed tone.

Ria: “…I’ll avoid those memories, I swear.” She said with a serious tone.

Celia: “…Fine.” I agree.

Ria: “Great! Just hold still, please.” She happily said with a smile.

Celia: “…”

She isn’t going to avoid them at all! My wife is such a cheeky girl… That just makes me love her more, though. Am I a crazy person? How many times have I asked myself this question, and have been asked this question before?…

Regardless of the answer, Ria put her hand on my head, and I felt that odd feeling again. Soon, she removed her hand, and she was then digesting the information that she received from me.

Ria: “Alisa… Why must you pick up so many broken girls, Celia?” She asked with a sigh.

Celia: “Maybe they’re attracted to me because I am willing to fix them?” I assume.

Ria: “…Probably. But you need to slow it down. Eventually, you will take on too many of their burdens. I am not admonishing you, but this path will only lead to your mind failing.” She said with a stern tone.

Celia: “I am aware of this, and I know my limits. Why don’t you look into the future? I am sure that our core family is already established. I doubt that I will pick up any more family members.” I reply with an unconcerned tone.

Ria: “…”

While she looked into the future, I went back to eating and drinking. Funnily enough, even while searching through the future, Ria would still give me a fresh cup of water, and a new plate of tasty food. Ah… I love my wives!

Ria: “There are… a few more. But nothing that you can’t handle. And the future is always changing, so I don’t know for sure…” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “Cool.” I say while my mouth was full of food.

Ria: “…”

Celia: “I have a question for you, Ria.” I say after finishing after my nth plate.

Ria: “What is it?” She replied.

Celia: “When fighting that one Rot Goddess, why did you let Yona get hurt?” I ask with a curious tone.

Ria: “…”

Celia: “I am not upset or trying to accuse you of anything. I am just curious about why it happened like that. Although it got me to explore that continent, I am sure that there were better ways to get me to do that.” I clarify.

Ria: “Even one as powerful as I am cannot go against the will of a dimension. I did and still do control that dimension. But some things you cannot change. And Yona getting hurt there was important, for some reason.” She explained.

Celia: “I see…” I reply, turning back to the new the plate of food that I was given to me by Ria.

The idea that no matter how powerful you are, there is some higher power that no one has any control over, is very scary to me. I thought that once I became a Supreme Goddess, no one could really go against me. That was clearly a wrong assumption to make…

Ria: “It’s not fully wrong, Celia. But yes, even God can’t control everything. Instead, there is something higher than even she and I that no one understands.” She said.

Celia: “How annoying… Ria, apart from my family, what happened to the others?” I ask.

Ria: “The others? That dimension was destroyed by the will of it. As such, I did what I could to save them. For our family, I ensured that I put them where I could find them. But everyone else, I just sent to random dimensions.” She answered.

Celia: “…”

Ria: “It sounds cruel, I know. But it was either be reborn, or die.” She said with a remorseful tone.

Celia: “They were… reborn?” I repeat.

Ria: “Either they were reborn, or whatever will of the dimension that they ended up in, wrote them into history as they were at the time that they got there.” She explained.

Celia: “…”

That’s a shame… I have many friends, but now it looks like some of them are scattered to the wind. Fuck… Knowing me, I will have to go find them all before I can settle down. But, though I feel sorry for them, my family takes priority. I can just only hope that when I do finally find them all, that they can forgive me for taking so long…
