Chapter 42: Time was Skipped, You Know?
(Celia’s POV)
After returning to Alisa’s camp, I spent many years just relaxing in it. No joke, really. I didn’t even leave to go farm monsters, either. As for why, well… it was due to Alisa’s pleading with me not to do so.
Her reasoning was that if I left to go kill monsters so early, there wouldn’t be anything worth killing, and I would just waste a vast amount of her Mana Crystals. So a lack of progress, and upsetting my daughter if I did decide to go farm, I kept well enough home with Alisa.
After these years, that being, the five years that I’ve stayed here, there should be stronger monsters to kill now. And the people of this place treat me as Alisa’s mother. Which is very, very funny to me.
I would have thought that they would think me Alisa’s wife, rather than her mother. But that’s how our relationship looked to other people, it seems. In this new society ruled by Alisa, my word is as good as hers.
Alisa: “Celia… I am very disappointed.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “What did I do to earn your disappointment?” I ask with a confused expression.
Alisa doesn’t have her memories yet, but it is very funny how she already accepted me as her mother. The only thing missing was her memories, as we were practically back to as we were before Ria kidnapped everyone.
Alisa: “It is not you who I am disappointed with, Celia.” She replied with a giggle.
Celia: “Oh? Then who are you upset with?” I reply.
Alisa: “I am upset with the humans. Their progress has been not slow, but what they’ve created is a nightmare in a half.” She said with a groan.
Celia: “That’s true.” I say with a groan of my own.
Currently, the humans, which numbers are around 50 million, have specific separations. The numbers sound big, but really weren’t big at all, when compared to the previous population of this dimension just a few years ago.
For fun, Alisa had each landmass get joined together. There wasn’t any need to take a boat, you see. The humans are split up into five main kingdoms, with some small ones that aren’t important.
Celia: “Only Vesta is worth anything at the moment.” I say with a thinking pose.
Alisa: “That’s right… But Vesta was your baby, Celia.” She agreed.
Celia: “Hey, it was my baby, but I didn’t go that hands on in controlling it.” I reply with a shrug.
Vesta was a kingdom that I developed. Mostly out of spite, as Ria said that me controlling a place would be a bad idea. Of course, as my wife, she was right. I was in over my head quickly, and Ria took over control of Vesta to help me.
Which is even more funny, as I control Vesta in the shadows, but the real one in control is even more in the shadows. Ria hasn’t revealed herself to anyone this entire time. So she really is a shadow government…
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Alisa: “You’re belittling your efforts. Vesta is the only ray of hope for the humans in this world, and you should be proud of that fact.” She praised.
Celia: “I know…” I reply with a guilty expression.
After all, Ria was the real one in control, not me. It still feels bad to take credit for her efforts… Though, Ria did say that she was fine with it. Saying that all of our achievements were each other’s to share. And I agree with her thinking. She is my wife; you know.
Celia: “Alisa, can I finally go out and farm now?” I ask with a practically pleading tone.
Alisa: “Do you mean to cause chaos?” She said with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “No! I just want to get stronger. If, and only IF, I just so happen to destroy the other four kingdoms in the process of farming, well… it would just be as a byproduct. Nothing more.” I say with a pout.
Alisa: “I have stopped you from fulfilling your desires for many years now… And you have given me so much of your time, as well as treating me like your real daughter. Even after basically destroying this world, taking up more of your time would be an even greater sin than that.” She explained.
Celia: “Is that just a long way to say “yes” to my request?” I jokingly reply.
Alisa: “…Go have fun, Celia.” She said with a laugh after a short pause to process my cheeky reply.
Celia: “Yay!” I happily exclaim.
I have long since made a vow to show my true self to my family, and I haven’t broken it for a while. Yes, I am an adult, Supreme Goddess, yet I act like a cheeky young woman. But who cares? This is me, and my family accepts me with all their hearts.
Alisa: “Silly girl… You aren’t from this dimension, are you?” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “Nope, not at all. In fact, I came here to this dimension with the sole purpose of bringing you back with me.” I answer, saying the truth, but not the whole truth.
Alisa: “…You came here for me?… Celia, when each of those kingdoms falls, I will leave this dimension with you. That is, assuming the truth that we’ve willingly kept hidden for so long… is enough to convince me to leave.” She said with a serious tone.
Celia: “Oh, it will be, don’t worry. I am sure that you will leave with me in a heartbeat.” I say with a confident tone.
Alisa: “…”
Celia: “?”
Alisa: “Your confidence scares me, Celia… But, yes. I await the day when the truth is revealed. And… I do hope that, if I decide to stay, you will respect my decision.” She said with a smile.
Celia: “Haven’t I always respected your decisions?” I say with a thinking pose.
Alisa: “You have. Which, didn’t always work out for the best…” She said with a groan, probably remembering a bad thing that she did a few years ago.
And what was said bad thing? Three years ago, Alisa decided that wearing a cape was a good idea, and I let her do it. Capes can work for some people, but not Alisa. Plus, it was cute to see her realize how bad of an idea it was just after a few days of wearing one. Heh…
Alisa: “Laughing at the memories of that event? What a cruel woman you’re, Celia.” She said with a joking tone.
Celia: “I am a simple woman. I see a girl, I will tease her. That is my one truth. My credo. My… whatever other way you can say something like that!” I reply with a proud tone.
Alisa: “Celia… no matter how long I’ve been with you, I still find your interesting.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “Oh? Does Fin not catch your eye any more?” I ask.
Alisa: “Who?” She replied with a head tilt.
Celia: “…”
Sorry, Fin… I have completely replaced you in the mind of your ruler. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Fin in a long while… Where the hell did she go? Ah, page from Ria, she hired her to work in Vesta. How useful!
Celia: “I’ll be leaving now, Alisa.” I inform.
Alisa: “Stay safe. And do please limit the chaos to far away, or at least outside of Vesta, please. I would prefer to have at least ONE bastion of humanity remaining, you know.” She pleaded.
Celia: “You said please twice…” I reply.
Alisa: “I did it intentionally, Celia.” She clarified with a deadpan expression.
Celia: “…”
Am I really that untrustworthy? Surely, I can go more than a few hours without causing… Nope. That shit is practically ingrained in my DNA. I always have to be doing something crazy. It wasn’t like I didn’t do anything crazy while staying here with Alisa… Speaking of which, I waved Alisa goodbye, and I set off on a journey of this new world. What “great” changes will I inflict upon it? I am getting excited…
