Chapter 89: Where is my Mother, Yet Again?
(Celia’s POV)
After arriving in Hell, I was shocked to realize that I was once again in the same Hell as before. What are the fucking odds on that? Regardless, I ended up in the lowest layer once more. While walking around, I came across a being that I briefly met once.
Gru: “Ah, it is good to see you again, missy.” She said with a happy tone.
Celia: “Yes, the same to you. I never thought that I would end up exploring Hell once more.” I reply.
Gru: “Hmm… Still not dead? I’ll have you know that the record for a living person ending up in Hell is just five times. You’d be wise to not break such a record. And what’s this? A Supreme Goddess, huh? That is a lot of progress since I last saw you.” She said with a thinking pose.
Celia: “That’s true, I have been through a lot since then. Anyway, wasn’t your time in Hell soon over?” I ask.
Gru: “I still have a few hundred years left, little lady. Though, due to my good behavior, all I have to do is train my replacement, and then I can finally reincarnate.” She replied.
Celia: “Oh, really? That’s nice. Do you need me to help with anything?” I ask with a smile.
Gru: “Not really, but thanks for asking. It shouldn’t take me more than fifty years to train my replacement. And, I will have a small taste of freedom soon, as God and the Devil will be getting married.” She denied.
Celia: “Oh? You’re attending as well? That’s great! I look forward to seeing you there.” I say with a happy smile.
I knew that Gru was highly respected, but I didn’t expect that even the Devil respected her. Now I am worried about the wedding… Who else will be attending it? Maybe Alenta as well?
Gru: “You’re also invited? You truly get around, little lady.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “So it would seem… Anyway, I am here to find my mother. No, she didn’t die. Yona just got sent here by accident when I tried taking her to Heaven along with me.” I ask with a serious tone.
Gru: “Hmm… I haven’t noticed anyone besides you coming to this layer. Sorry, it is very unlikely that she ended up in this layer, I cannot help you find her.” She said with a remorseful tone.
Celia: “That’s fine. I oddly know my way around Hell, after all. Or at least, this specific Hell.” I reply with a laugh.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Waving Gru goodbye after talking to her for a bit longer, I went searching around for a Hell Guide. After all, I needed a guide to leave this layer. Even with my current race and power, I do not have any permissions to explore Hell as I please, as I do with Heaven.
Alenta: “~Celia~” She said into my ear with a sickly sweet tone.
I was so spooked by her that I ended up jumping in fright. Turning around, I could see that it was Alenta. Was she always this cheery? I don’t recall her being like this. No, wait… She was, but Alenta said that she would calm down eventually. I guess that “eventually” hasn’t happened yet…
Celia: “Alenta… did you perhaps know where my mother, Yona, is?” I ask.
Alenta: “Straight to business already? Can’t even say hello?” She replied with a pout.
Celia: “Well, hello, I guess? But this really isn’t a casual conversation, Alenta.” I reply with a sigh.
Alenta: “That’s true… Anyway, you need to do something for me to save Yona. That is, if you want her alive.” She said with a grim tone.
Celia: “What?… Did… did she die here?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Alenta: “…”
She didn’t reply, but her silence told me as such. Dammit… all because I was bored… I ended up getting Yona killed…
Celia: “What do I have to do, Alenta?” I ask with a serious tone and expression.
Alenta: “It is very simply, actually. All you have to do is give me your soul.” She answered.
Celia: “…”
Alenta: “Your soul for Yona’s. Quite a good deal, you know? Other Hell Administrators wouldn’t be so accommodating.” She gloated.
Celia: “Fine… Take my soul. Just make sure that Yona doesn’t realize what happened. If she did, the grief would kill her.” I agree.
At my words, Alenta started laughing. Then, like it was a party, various party confetti poured out from the… well, it was just all around me. A very odd scene in a place like this, which is, you know, Hell… Why is she doing this, anyway?
Alenta: “Bravo! Just like I figured, you were fully willing to give up your life. All just to save one of your family members. There wasn’t even a moment of hesitation from you. One of these days, I truly hope that my daughter would care about me as much as you do your family.” She said before laughing once more.
Celia: “???”
Alenta: “Sorry, sorry. You see, Yona didn’t die. Instead, I found her and gave her a safe place to stay.” She said after calming down.
Celia: “Safe place to stay? Alenta, Yona is suicidal at the moment! We can’t just leave her all alone!” I say with a nervous tone.
Alenta: “I am well aware of that as well. Yona is being watched by a few maids. All of which are far stronger than her. Yona’s life isn’t in any danger.” She said with a reassuring tone.
Celia: “Okay, that’s good… Can I go see her now? We were supposed to be exploring Heaven, but she got sent here by accident. Don’t worry, my permission ring was already fixed, so it should work this time.” I reply.
Alenta: “Already going to leave? How heartless… I thought what we had was special!” She jokingly said.
Celia: “Special?… Anyway, you’re going to God and the Devil’s wedding, right?” I ask.
Alenta: “Yeah, I am. Gru is going too! I just knew that you were going to be invited!” She said with an excited tone.
Celia: “Was I? You know, I just accidentally heard about the wedding and was invited to it on the spot.” I reply with a sigh.
Alenta: “The invitation for you was going to be at the last minute, all just to make you surprised. It is your fault that you happened to figure out that they’re getting married sooner than planned.” She said with a shrug.
Celia: “…”
With a snap of her fingers, we ended up in a nice looking room. Sitting on a couch, was the speechless Yona. What’s up with her? Yona couldn’t look me in the eyes, maybe she was angry with me? This was my fault, after all. Saying goodbye to Alenta, I teleported back to Heaven with my mom in tow. Now, we shall have our bonding time once more!!!
