Chapter 21: Bad Place…
(Celia’s POV)
Growl!
Look, it wasn’t like I hadn’t dealt with such things before. It’s just that I usually was already very overpowered at that point. I can’t believe that I have to kill fucking Goblins with my bare hands… Or rather, bare hand…
Crunch!
As for where I ended up in… Well, it would seem that I teleported to a cave that Goblins use as a nest. At least, that was evident by all the Goblins around me. Being basically a normal human, but with Nano Machines to make me slightly better, I still got decently injured.
Killing them all with only one hand was taxing, as well. Eventually, after killing an abundant number of stinky Goblins, I find myself in the area where they kept their female captives.
The women inside were a mix of random villagers, and what seemed to be adventurers or knights. The Goblins kept the females alive for obvious reasons. They didn’t need to disarm them, either.
All they had to do was starve the girls until they couldn’t put up a fight. A very horrible, but smart method of securing breeding stock. Which is kinda weird, considering how stupid Goblins are. I guess that being little rapist assholes is in their DNA?
Celia: “Give me your sword, please.” I say to a knight within the cell.
Knight: “Huh? Oh! Here!” She said, quickly realizing what I meant, and handing me her drawn sword through the cell bars.
The cave seemed to be a military outpost originally, which is why a jail cell existed within it. I do wonder how Goblins would keep their captives if they didn’t have such a convenient place to keep them in like this…
Slice!
With a sword in hand, I was more easily able to deal with the Goblins. I omitted it, but I have actually been killing them for an hour or two. Even with just only having one arm, the sword helped me make short work of the green dudes.
Come to think of it, why are Goblins green? Like, what makes their skin like that? Is it to more easily blend in with their environment? If so, why haven’t I seen any other differently colored Goblins? To be fair, I have only found Goblins in wooded areas.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Differences between Goblin species aside, I should focus on killing them. At this point, they have given up on trying to wear me down and capture me. As such, they have started to kill me in earnest. What fun!
Hours Later.
Frankly, without my System or Ruina there to tell me the time, it was hard to know how long it has been. And my Nano Machines didn’t tell me, either. They seem to only want to talk with me when it is absolutely needed for them to do so.
As this was originally some kind of secret outpost, there were various lights strung up on the walls. Instead of fire, they looked to be lit up with Mana Crystals. Though, as they weren’t maintained for years, the cave was dim.
The dimness of the cave did nothing to understate the hundreds of Goblin corpses upon the ground. All cut up in various ways. If it wasn’t for my Nano Machines, I would be covered in blood, cuts, and so would my clothes.
Now, it seems like I was just an innocent girl that stumbled onto a horrible post-war scene. I guess that the missing half of my arm does add to my credibility, though…
Celia: “Sorry…”
Knight: “About what? You’ve just saved us!” She exclaimed.
Clink!
Celia: “…”
Knight: “…”
That sound was her sword breaking in half. As you would expect, this was just a normal knight’s sword. Nothing special at all. Using it to kill almost one thousand Goblins… was enough to do it in completely.
Knight: “Don’t worry about the sword, it was standard issue. Can you help us break out?” She asked.
Celia: “Yeah, I can.” I reply.
Walking up to the door, I found that it was locked. Oh, no! What a problem! I just pulled the door from its hinges. Hey, at least I was far stronger than a normal human now. If I was just a basic ass human like I was at the start of this adventure to find Mena, I would be so fucked by now…
Knight: “Thank you so much. Please don’t mind the other girls not talking. None of them have been assaulted by the Goblins yet. But they are all starving and have lost their friends and loved ones.” She explained.
Celia: “I understand. Can they make it to the nearest town? I should inform you, but I have no idea where I am at the moment.” I ask.
Knight: “The nearest town is a small one, about a mile or two away from here. The villagers will need to rest a lot, but the fighters among us should be fine until we eventually get there.” She answered.
Celia: “I see. Do you wish for me to escort you all there?” I propose.
Knight: “No, no. Leave that to us. We can get ourselves and the villagers to safety. We wouldn’t want to burden you any further.” She denied.
Celia: “Are you sure?” I ask once more.
Knight: “Absolutely. Please, just see it as a pride thing for us. Once you leave this cave, just keep going straight for a day. You will eventually reach the capital city of this kingdom.” She informed.
Celia: “Okay. Thanks for the information. I hope that you all successfully make it to your destination.” I reply, before leaving their side.
They wouldn’t leave yet, as they needed to get everyone ready to leave. Before I did leave, I saw the knight reach into her bag and pull out some food and water. She must have hid the food and water to ration it out. But now that they were leaving, they needed more strength and energy to succeed. Heh… smart.
Bright!
Huh? Since when does brightness have a sound? I guess that flashbangs make a sound… Let’s just ignore this little event, shall we? Anyway, once outside of the cave, I saw a dense forest before me.
The trees weren’t huge, or anything. Just the normal sized ones that you would expect from a fantasy world. Now then, I sure do hope that nothing bad happens now. Yes. I will keep jinxing myself. I just find it to be too much fun…
