Chapter 17: Raid.
(*Celia’s POV*)
I strode right into their camp like I owned the damn place. A few of the knights came up to me with their weapons drawn, while others seemingly wanted to talk to me.
They probably wanted to find out who I am, and why I ended up in their camp. Unfortunately for them, I wasn’t very keen on conversing with people who I am about to kill. As such, and without any warning, I killed the knight that was closest to me.
At this point, all hell broke loose. The knights came at me with clear intent to kill, as they should, but that wasn’t enough. I was more than enough to deal with them all even before I evolved, let alone with my current form and Status.
Yona gave me really regal armor before I left, and that is what I am currently wearing. I say armor, but it was more like fantasy armor. The armor was sorta like a dress. It looked cute, but still provided a lot of protection.
It even came with a nice red cape. I wasn’t one to hold back, so even only less than a few minutes into the fight, I was already covered in blood. The only normal looking part of my attire, was my cape, as it was already red beforehand.
Celia: “This place is surrounded by my troops, so unless you want to be riddled with arrows, fight me and die!” I exclaim.
There were already a few people trying to escape, so I had to trick them. Ten or more soldiers fleeing could be handled by the troops that I positioned behind the camp. But not if a few hundred run away. Luckily, my baseless threat actually worked.
I slaughtered and killed completely unchallenged. It took less than thirty minutes to kill more than half of the soldiers stationed at this camp. The camp seemed to have been bathed in blood, as there was blood and gore as far as you could see.
Ria: “Some of them seem to want to give up, Celia.” She said.
Celia: “I don’t really have any reason to acquire captives, but I think that killing people who throw down their weapons, is a war crime, right?” I ask with a head tilt.
Ria: “It would be. Listen, I’ll kill any terrible person, and just save the good ones that gave up.” She said.
Celia: “Please do.” I reply with a smile.
While she did that, I continued to fight. Some clearly heard Ria and I speak, so they dropped their weapons as well. Twenty minutes later, their group was down to just ten soldiers. They didn’t look good either, as they were covered in the blood of their comrades.
I flashed them an evil smile. Coupled with my absurd strength, and being covered in blood, that must have spooked them a lot. Five of them fled the scene, and were now destined to be cut down by the soldiers outside the camp.
The remaining soldiers still had the will to fight, so of course I continued to fight them. It didn’t take much longer for them to be killed off by me. There was only one left, and he seemed to be the commander.
This commander was pretty skilled. Despite my strength, I actually just killed them all with my skills with my sword. This man was the only one who has actually put up a good fight for me. But that was short-lived, as I swung my sword down.
My attack was to shatter his blade and slash his torso. Even in a fantasy world, it would be pretty hard to survive such a wound. Sure, they could survive if they had healing magic, but it is rare. A person that can use such magic, wouldn’t be on the front lines.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
It would be a waste. Especially if they end up dying. Anyway, back to reality. As I brought down my sword, my attack was blocked. A blaze red-haired woman actually managed to block me.
Well, it wasn’t like I put that much force into it anyway. Who is this woman, though? She was pretty beautiful if I am being honest… She didn’t wear on her person any indication that she is a part of Leretia’s military…
Celia: “And who might you be? If such a powerful person as yourself came out to help, it would have taken me much longer to cull this camp, you know?” I say with a smile.
Red-Haired Woman: “Funnily enough, I was just going to sneak out once it was all over.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “And why didn’t you?” I ask with a curious tone.
Red-Haired Woman: “If the commander dies, then I cannot be paid. I am broke as a joke at the moment, so I need the money.” She replied.
Celia: “And are you even sure that you can survive a fight against me?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Red-Haired Woman: “Depends… Was that your strongest strike? If so, then yes. Here, I’ll stick out my sword and try to block your attack, just to make sure.” She suggested.
I don’t know why she would even suggest such a thing… Girl, I just slaughtered an entire military camp, why would I go along with your whims?
Oddly, I was curious about the woman, so I went along with her absurd suggestion. She stuck out her sword so that I could strike it. Of course, she pointed it away from her body, so she wouldn’t get hurt.
With a sigh, I slashed down at the sword, and it easily shattered into pieces. The woman’s mouth was open wide, and she was clearly shocked. The commander decided to flee, but was killed by Ria.
Celia: “Oh, Ria killed the commander… Anyway, do you think that you can win a fight against me?” I ask with a smug tone.
Red-Haired Woman: “Are you joking!? That sword cost me 156 Platinum Celestium! Even a dragon would struggle to break it…” She replied with a shocked tone.
Ria, is this woman a good person? She is kinda interesting, and I see some potential in her. I am not one to let a good and strong person go without first suggesting to hire them, after all.
Ria: “She is a mercenary, but otherwise she is a good person.” She replied in my head.
Celia: “What’s your name?” I ask.
Red-Haired Woman: “Why? So you can remember the name of the person you killed? How honorable… My name is Juni.” She replied.
Celia: “Do you want to live, Juni?” I ask.
Juni: “Is that truly an option?” She asked with an unsure tone.
Celia: “Yes. I am the princess of Evaclearian. Take these Celestium and head there. Try joining up with our military. I do see potential in you.” I say before handing her a pouch.
The pouch was a normal one that I took out of my storage. What was in the pouch wasn’t normal, though. As I stored twenty Orichalcum Celestium in it.
Juni opened up the pouch and audibly let out a gasp. She then got down on one knee and vowed loyalty to me. Not like I needed it, but such a thing is nice to have, I guess.
I told Juni that I would be raiding the kingdom next, and that she should go to my kingdom. Stupidly, I forgot that Ria could just teleport people, so that is what Ria did.
Saves her a trip, I guess… I then left the camp, and went to the five soldiers that I asked to watch the rear. Kiva was dead, as I expected. According to Ria, she didn’t actually kill her, and Kiva just ended up making a mistake, which cost Kiva her life. Karma is truly a bitch, it seems.
Celia: “Okay, you four, go back to the camp.” I say.
Knight: “Huh? Have you decided against taking over their kingdom, Princess?” She asked.
Celia: “No. You all should just head home.” I reply.
Knight: “Princess… Do you really intend to take over their kingdom by yourself!?” She yelled in confusion.
Celia: “The forces we have are not enough to control the kingdom, so I want you all to go back.” I reply.
Knight: “Ah, so you plan to wait for reinforcements then?” She asked.
Celia: “No? I just need a few thousand soldiers to keep control of Leretia after I take it over.” I reply with a head tilt.
She wanted to ask more questions but Ria teleported her away. Ria… I feel like you’ve gotten used to abusing your power… Ah, thanks for cleaning me off!
Ria: “I shall send the rest of them back as well, and teleport over the troops you want.” She said before she teleported away.
Okay, cool… I’ll just sit in this empty field and wait for you to get back then. With a sigh, I took out a chair, a table, and a book. I’ll just read until they get here. The book I am reading is one that I started a few days ago, and it is starting to get good as well!
