Chapter 18: Second Raid.
(*Celia’s POV*)
Teleporting so many people was clearly a huge task, even for Ria. As such, it took her thirty minutes to teleport the army to this empty plain. Which was just enough time for me to finish the book that I was reading.
I was in a bad mood, as the book’s ending sucked! Who the hell even ends a happy go lucky story, with all of the characters dying in the end!? If I ever find the author, I am so killing them a few times!
Ria: “Celia, I’ve finished teleporting everyone here.” She said.
Celia: “Hm? Ah, thanks a lot. I truly appreciate it, I know that this was a challenge even for you.” I say as I give her a hug.
Ria: “Celia… Intimate things are still off limits.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “What’s wrong with a hug?” I ask with an innocent expression.
Ria: “…”
With a giggle, I told the soldiers to follow me along. We weren’t that far away from Leretia, so even with such a large army, it only took us twenty minutes to make it to their capital city.
Celia: “Alright everyone, I shall go on ahead. Just do some cleanup of any soldiers that I miss. Remember, capture the ones that surrender, and do not harm any civilians, or destroy any buildings. I am hoping for a peaceful takeover.” I say with a serious tone and expression.
They all said, “Yes Princess!” to me, and then I marched right to the front gate. I could see some soldiers on the ramparts shaking in their boots. However, the gate was closed…
Do they really think that such a gate can even stop me? Granted, I could just easily smash the gate, but repairing it after we take this place over, would be annoying.
Instead, I just flew up to the ramparts, and started killing as I went along. My destination was the controls for the gate. It was easy pickings, but the ones that shot arrows at me were greatly annoying, so I prioritized killing them first.
It took me far too long to realize that the controls were on the ground floor of the city, and not on the ramparts. At least I dealt with some soldiers on the way…
Ruina: “I feel like you should pick up the habit of coming up with a plan beforehand. Most of the problems you encounter, simply happen because you just go with the flow.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “Oh, stop… you’re making me blush.” I say with a joking tone.
Ruina: “…”
With my teasing of Ruina finished, I opened up the gate. My soldiers came into the city in a nice even line. Damn… These soldiers have some amazing discipline. It truly makes me wonder how someone like Kiva even made it into our military…
Whatever. I asked Ria to amplify my voice on a whim, and oddly she was actually able to do so. Thus began the second story about me.
Celia: “Dear citizens of Leretia, I am Princess Celia of Evaclearian. Your ruler decided to declare war upon us, and we’re here returning that gesture in kind.” I say with a serious tone.
Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
I could see people peek their heads out of the doors and windows, which means that they can actually hear me. Cool! God, Ria is so amazing! That’s right, cutely blush Ria, you know that my words are true!
Celia: “Rest assured, none of you will be harmed, and any soldier that lays down their weapons, will be captured and then released once the war is over. In fact, just continue with your day, and let us pass by.” I say with a laugh.
The people of this kingdom surely do not have much love for it, as they just did as I said. In history, takeovers of kingdoms usually involve a lot of murder, rape, and destruction. War crimes aren’t an issue if the enemies that you commit the crimes against are dead, and can no longer tell the tale.
In my opinion, such things happening is unforgivable, and I will not be a part of such atrocities. That being said, them just letting us pass, and even happily waving us by, is kinda odd…
Celia: “Why are the people so happy about us being here?” I ask Ria.
Ria: “High nobility, is practiced here. Basically speaking, anyone that isn’t a noble is treated like trash, and the nobles in this city can get away with any crime committed against a non-noble.” She explained.
Celia: “Ah, so we will see actually push back when we make it to the noble’s district, right?” I ask.
Ria: “I would assume so, we have to go through it to reach the castle. Celia, please do notice that we haven’t come across any soldiers so far. It’s because they’re only protecting the noble’s district.” She advised.
Her words rang true, since as soon as we made it to the noble’s district of this kingdom, we actually had to fight off soldiers. Well, just Ria and I fought them off. My soldiers were practically just here for show…
Noble Woman: “You demon monsters! How dare you invade our kingdom!” She exclaimed.
Ria, is this woman a good or bad person? Ah, so she is bad, how unfortunate. With a sigh, I cut her head off. I don’t like making examples of people, but this method clearly worked, as almost all of the nobles in this district decided to flee from the kingdom.
Works for us, we have no need to deal with corrupt nobles. It just saves us the time culling them all out after we take this place over.
The forces that Leretia could muster were quite laughable. They truly sent out their entire military… Don’t they know basic fucking tactics? Eh, they must have just underestimated us to an absurd degree.
Anyway, our entire trip through the noble’s district was easy peasy, and we only came across fifty soldiers. The rest will probably be protecting the stupid king.
*Sometime Later.*
The old and miserable fool of a king sat on his throne. He oddly acted like he won this whole war, even though all of his forces have been killed. The throne room even had various bodies of his soldiers strewn about it.
I won’t even bother you with the full details. Just know, this stupid man thought that trapping me in a magic barrier would win him this encounter. The one who cast the magic wasn’t anything to look at, and their barrier was on the same level.
So? Decapitated head of the king, did the plan actually work out? Ah, right, you’re dead, so you can’t answer. Okay… that was far more dark than funny…
Celia: “Ria, please inform Yona that I have taken over Leretia.” I ask with a smile.
Ria: “That is my plan, as I am sure that not even the woman herself actually expected you to succeed this quickly. I am sure that the reaction she’ll show will be funny.” She said with a giggle before teleporting away.
Celia: “You all, secure the rest of the kingdom. Remember, do not hurt any civilians.” I say with a serious tone.
After they left, I decided to explore the castle. The king’s wife and children were nowhere to be found, so it seems that they escaped.
Ruina: “They didn’t escape. Ria kidnapped them before we got here and gave them to her underlings. She killed the males, though.” She explained.
Celia: “…”
When did she even find the time to do that? Fuck… If I was a sexual deviant, I wouldn’t be able to resist the idea of sleeping with a queen… Good thing that I am a faithful woman!
Exploring the rest of the castle was quite boring… As a last ditch effort to cull my boredom, I went to check out their prisoners.
Mostly random people, that weren’t even a little bit interesting. I would free them, but I have no idea if they’re being locked up for an actual crime, or for no reason at all.
Walking the hall containing rows of cells, I stopped on a dime and nearly fell over when I passed one. Inside this specific cell, were two people that I knew, who shouldn’t be in this place or dimension at all…
