Chapter 761: [Protecting his Home]

Chapter 761: [Protecting his Home]

Lieri Del Con turned at her master, Mia who nodded back and then to Layla.

Now is the time!

“Please Mistress,”

“Jeez, you’re as strict as always, sister is fine,”

Layla smiled wryly and then started to chant, “Please bless the hero that will purge the darkness and give her strength to defeat evil, [Hero’s Blessing]!”

With her hand held together as if she was praying, pale-bluish white lights appeared in her hands and then shot towards Lieri.

Lieri felt a sudden burst of strength from her body and her lips arching into a faint smile.

Her heat felt confidence surging through her.

“Now then, I won't hold back! Wrath of Lightning!”

“Kwaaaaak!”

“Kwaaaaak!”

“Kwaaaaak!”

Leiri’s eyes shined golden and her both arms spread wide open. Her smile curled into pride, her heart showed extreme contentment as she felt the electric sparks that coiled around her.

So similar…so familiar… this power is just like his…!

Lieri had never regretted choosing Lightning Element as her main one, even if she couldn’t use any other power elements. Because she wanted to be like him. She wanted to feel closer to him!

As if responding to her overflowing emotions, the lump of lightning that sparked above her head become even larger, almost blindingly bright like a ball of pure plasma. When she waved her hands, the lightning spread throughout the area and struck the flying monsters that were hovering around the City. And it didn’t only end at that and spread around to other monsters and killed them.

Standing within the Lightning Rain, she looks like a female God of Lightning. Even her hair turned bright golden as if it were shining. In just one attack almost half of the flying monsters were fried and started falling down from the sky.

Although not all died, with their wings fried, flying is already impossible.

The warriors defending the wall from underneath hurriedly run around, finishing those who were still alive.

But that is not enough yet…

Lieri cocked her head and when she stepped forward, her feet slowly floated upward. Stopping just outside the barrier, she floated in the air in silence.

Wordlessly she stared at the monsters that were roaring and crying at her. However, they seemed to be afraid of her as they didn’t dare rushed like rabid beasts unlike before- instead, they look at her in vigilance.

So be it!

To protect the home that the young master love, you all shall be exterminated in his name—!

She raised her right hand to the heavens, and they, in turn, grew dark and ominous.

Countless tendrils of lightning snaked by overhead in a cloudless sky. As the world rattled with bight arcs and terrifying roars as if the heaven was enraged, a golden mask appeared from nowhere, covering Lieri’s features. In the same instant there appeared a brilliant golden cape and armor, covering every part of her body.

Her hair grew long, like spun gold.

And she was shining in bright golden light. She stood, with golden armor and her eyes shone in bright light. She started chanting, mumbling soft sounds that nobody could hear but felt as if she was singing, as melodic sounds echoed in their ears.

The next moment, the sky thundered, and lightning flashed.

Intense rumbling sounds immediately filled the sky.

Daadaaam!! Booooom! Daaadaaaam!!

Deafening thunder rang out, reverberating out in all directions, covering everything for thousands of kilometers, shaking the land. The lightning seemed to be furious, no, excited as the coming of their monarch.

Lieri stared at the sky, her expression- irony to the stench of blood and death of the battlefield was full of gentleness. She looks at the dark sky where tendrils of lightning flashed, with a warm smile. Her gaze soft as if she was looking at her lover—perhaps it was not the sky she was looking at, it was something else… perhaps it was someone else.

The power he possesses… she felt a sense of fullness and satisfaction as she unleashed her power that was so similar to a certain someone else.

Everyone, all the people standing on the ground look up at her in shock, and in awe. Some even showed fear. Is this something a human being could have? Many kinds of supernatural power appeared, and they all had seen powerful superpowers that a human couldn't possibly have. However, something like this, they had never seen before.

The pressure, the aura, the fear, all just surged within them- they felt as if the dark clouds looming above their heads are like guillotines that could fall down in their necks at any given moment. No, perhaps, worse than that. It's like a power that can destroy this world. Something like that.

Lieri can feel their awe, their fear, their shock- she seemed to see everything, holding everything in their palm. Still, she didn't care. Her lips continued to arch in joy.

This is her debut… no one knows aside from the main family, that she has this kind of God-like power. She rarely intervenes in military affairs and placed all her focus and attention in supporting and attending her master; the War Princess; Mia Bianchi and the family. Supporting them from the shadows, and helping them was her duty and purpose.

But now…

She held her head high, proud.

The world will finally be able to see that there was someone else who can command the power ‘he’ had, that even without him here, no one should think that they are enough to shake the [Family]!

And more than that, with this power, she would finally be able to take a step closer to the stage he would be standing.

“I will protect everything he loved and treasured… until the day my breath left me…!”

The sound of thunder reverberated around in the air along with her beautiful voice as if it echoed in the entire world; as it did; immense black clouds filled the sky, covering over everything. Layer upon layer rose up, emanating shocking sounds of thunder.

Lightning twisted and crackled amidst the layers of clouds.

The sight of it was astonishing.

As for the flying monsters in the air, or those crawling in the ground trapped within the area enclosed by the dark clouds, expressions of astonishment, fear, and panic covered their faces.

Lieri stared at the thunder clouds filling the skies, and the countless bands of silver lightning, twisting about like snakes.

BOOOOOOM!!!!

As the ear-splitting thunder sounded out, she coolly said-

“Die.”

During the same moment that word came out, massive thunderous booms sounded out from up above.

The brutality of the sound itself threatened to cause everything around to collapse. Roughly thirty percent of the monsters, especially the flying ones which were much closer from the clouds, coughed up blood and then let out miserable shrieks as they realized they had been deafened.

But being deafened is the least of their worries.

When the boom rang out, most flying monsters and those pitifully stuck in the ground were all instantly blackened into ash. Their charred corpses toppled to the ground. It didn’t matter how quickly the monsters evaded. The lightning descended, slamming into them with a huge boom.

Blood sprayed from their mouths and their faces went white. Some powerful strong monsters remained intact, but those weaker were instantly turned into ash. Some monsters tried to escape at high speed, staring at the black sky with immeasurable dread, despair coloring their eyes.

“Roooar!!”

“AAaahahhhh!!!”

“Aawooooohhh—!!”

“ROOOOOAAARRR!!!”

The area was filled with thunderous booms and despair-filled cries and roars of monsters.

Along with them were the cheers and joy-filled roars of humans that watched as the scene that can only be seen in doomsday unfold!

“All Hail the Bianchi Family!”

“Bianchi Family will never lose!!”

“OOOOOHHhhhhHHH!!!”

“Monsters are nothing!!”

The battle once again tilted in the side of the humans and the monsters were being pushed back. Even those high-level monsters with perverse defense couldn’t help but step back in fear.

“Then what are you waiting for?? Kill!!”

“Kill!!!!!”

"KILL THEM ALL!!!"

"FOR THE FAMILY!!!"

As the thunderous shouts sounded out, countless horses and beast mounts galloped through the grassy clearing.

Innumerable Paladin Shield Bearers rode their large, powerful beast mounts, raising their heavy shields as they rushed at the front of the Monster Horde. With over a hundred high-level Superhumans moving out, it felt as if even mountains could be moved.

The land shook, and they brought with them a terrifying momentum as they mercilessly charged towards the Disillusion monsters.

Behind them, close combat warriors began moving out as well, causing the earth to tremble. Then, the Archers, cannoneers, and Elementalists. Finally, at the back were the Summoners and support Mages doing their summons and buffs.

With Lieri’s support keeping most of the monsters down, the momentum of the human warriors reached its peak as they charged through the monster horde with terrifying murderous intentions. Even the thick snow and cold were disregarded by them cut through the land and the army of monsters like a hot knife into butter.

Each team had its own formation, and they all moved out as one!

The aura and momentum they had were simply astounding.

Blood instantly spilled in all directions.

Monsters tried to fight back and pounced at the rushing humans but still, nothing could stop their momentum. With high-level artifacts that enhanced their powers, the shield bearers were like steel walls. If not for the thick snow that had piled up in the ground, reducing their speed, the human defender would have plowed throughout till the edge of the forest, pushing the monster horde inside it.

ROOOOOAAAARRRR!!!

At this moment, the horrifying roar of a dragon sounded out from above, piercing through the sounds of the monster roars and the thunderous booms.

This sound traveled into every living being’s ears present in the vicinity whether it was humanity’s side or the monster’s side, and they all looked towards where they heard the sound originate.

In the east, a gigantic black flying dragon-like creature—a Wyvern was flying towards them at an astonishing speed. It seemed as fast as lightning, and in the blink of an eye, it had traveled from the distance to be right in front of them.

When it finally came into view, the Wyvern’s true appearance could finally be seen. It was a medium-sized bipedal wyvern covered in lustrous black scales. Its face features purple markings around the eyes which continue along its body. And its head is topped with a pair of enormous backward-curving horns. Its feet are zygodactyl in nature, with two toes facing forward and two toes facing backward.

“That’s… one of the A-Rank Flying Dragons; the Abyssal Shadow Wyvern!”

One of the Defenders shouted out in shock.

“I remember that its master is… is…”

In just a moment, the Abyssal Shadow Wyvern reached the space above the battlefield amidst the thunderstorms. It suddenly gave a long roar as it pulled its wings against its body, and quickly dropped down towards the ground, towards the massive horde of monsters.

As it pulled its wings in, the person standing on its back was revealed.

“The Black… The Black Swordsman!”

“It’s the Sword King! The Sword King Tartanos!”

“It’s the Black Swordsman!”

The black cloak, as well as that sharp aura that made one feel as if there was a sword pressed against their neck…

Apart from the Sixth Strongest; [Sword King Tartanos] who else could it be?

The Italica Army began to yell out, and some defenders even forgot to charge. They looked up and stared with their mouths wide open as they gaped at this legend that was said to have slaughtered an entire army alone.

They watched as the Sword King dove towards the Monster Horde, and came closer and closer…

This scene looked like a giant shark was charging towards a group of tiny fishes.

Whoosh!

However, the expected collision didn’t occur.

Just as the Abyssal Shadow Wyvern was about to ram into the Monster Horde, it drew a beautiful arc and it flew back towards the sky.

When this occurred, the monster that was just passed by it immediately started to move. Some shot various kinds of attacks, like fireballs, ground spikes, electric zap, and many more while those who were a bit closer immediately tried to claw it or take a bit on the belly of the black beast.

“ROOOOOOAAAARRR!!!”

The angry roars of the black beast surprised everyone.

This huge beast had superior agility that didn’t match its huge size.

Like a dash of black smoke, it was able to jump away from the spikes, swamps, and waves. It even jumped over a few walls that the monsters tried to create using their bodies and in passing used its sharp talons to slashed and dismembered all the monsters it passed by.

In front of these predator-like talons, the monsters were too fragile. Blood created rivers and bones created hills. The black beast stepped over the blood and bones of the enemies, and this Sword King and her mount continued forward.

The Monster Horde had incredible might, and once they started charging, there was almost nothing that could stop them. However, they had a fatal weakness: once the frontlines faltered, the ones behind them would fall into chaos. The reason was, very simply, because they were all charging at full speed.

If the front fell, the monsters at the back would be unable to stop, and would also be tripped. This would cause a chain reaction, and the faster they were charging, the greater the chain reaction would be. Once this sort of chain reaction started, the consequences would be dire.

This sort of disastrous event could start with a single creature falling over.

Therefore, when the Abyssal Shadow Wyvern appeared, it was as if it was a wolf that had entered a sheep’s herd.

It was a nightmare… for the monsters, that is.
