Chapter 25: [ Lucy’s Secret Shop ]

Chapter 25: [ Lucy’s Secret Shop ]

Zombie extermination went smoothly.

Not as awesome as Project Alice but still it went better that Allen expected.

Although there was some undead that was quite hard to deal with especially the Lv2 Decayed Skeleton and the Lv3 Zombie Elite and to defeat them, Allen used the skill explosion once and even three grenades.

However, it wasn’t as if it was just all problems. There was also something good that happened, causing Allen to already feel that his visit tonight was already worth it.

[ [ Flesh Food ] User can regenerate wounds by eating raw flesh and empower their regeneration process. ]

Although it was one of those very disgusting type skills that any human would find appalling, however, it was still something Allen could hope for. This skill would surely help him in future battles!

Unfortunately, even touching almost 30 zombies, he didn’t acquire any new abilities again. It would have been wonderful if he could get several abilities though~

After walking for a while, while dragging a crippled zombie by one hand, Allen finally arrived at his real destination.

[ Lucy’s Secret Shop ]

It was the most secreted, most mysterious and weirdest store Allen had ever known!

In the past, he found this mysterious store accidentally when he first came here for training.

Two days after the seven days of chaos, Allen resolves himself to get stronger and for him to do that, he chooses the weakest monster to fight with – Zombies.

After all, although they are strong they are too slow. As long as one wouldn’t be captured by them, they would easily beat them up.

- Though it really didn’t go smoothly at that time because of the Zombie elites and the Undying King’s appearance.

But this time was completely different. Allen mused as he slowly entered the shop.

Although I had already expected it but still, what do you mean by a shop, more like a bar…

Shelves stocked with bottles and a long counter.

Who says about a shop, it was totally a bar. Can’t be anything but a bar.

Then there was a woman behind the counter.

“Welcome~”

A pale white-skinned woman greeted him with a happy smile. She had white long hair and ruby eyes.

Lucy, the owner of this shop. She is what you call… an albino.

She had a white shirt and a waistcoat on … she looks like a bartender.

“How may I help you?”

She looked so innocent. If Allen didn’t know the fearfulness behind that gentle smile, he would have been completely fooled.

“I need one margarita on the rocks and two pints of Guinness. Thank you!” Allen ordered just like ‘before’.

“Coming~”

Allen looked at her as she strode inside the counter.

If you want to get on Lucy’s good side, there are few things you should do inside the shop. – P.S Reference from Allen’s Book of Friends (LOL).

First, is being confident and cool. Don’t be indecisive and just act like you’re used to going bars like this. She would think of highly of you.

Second, is to…

“I never thought I would meet a beautiful girl owning a shop in this kind of a place. It’s really such a good night~”

…complement her!

“My, thank you very much for the compliment.” Lucy smiled happily. She then put the drink on the counter.

“…One margarita on the rocks~”

Allen receives it and took a sip while smiling.

The drink was totally good, showing Lucy’s capabilities as a bartender. He could feel the intensity of the relationship between the tequila and the citrus flavors of the drink.

“…but I’m really curious as to how a beauty such as you could live in this dangerous place. I almost got done in by those zombies outside, you know.”

Lucy smiled and answered, “Well, you could rest assured then, this place is completely safe from monsters. No undead would come in here and attack so be feel assured.”

“Oh?” Allen let out a sigh as if he felt quite relieved – though it was all an act.

“That it’s good then. But I’m curious, the board outside said that this was a shop…not a bar. I really thought I could buy something. It seems like I’m mistaken.”

“No, you’re not mistaken this is a shop. But I like the scent of alcohol, I’m also fond of going to bars so, I made one myself.”

“That’s quite a hobby you got there. But what are you selling specifically?” this is it! This is what I came for!! Allen immediately rejoiced.

“…anything. I sell every kind of things you might need. But before that, there’s some rules you need to follow.”

Allen was sipping on liquor at the counter, and Lucy stared at him.

Too close …

Rules!

Of course, Allen knows these rules. And these rules are absolute!

First, you can’t reveal the existence of this shop to anyone.

Allen had heard several rumors about people revealing the existence of this shop and after a day, these people were either been killed by a monster, been struck by lightning and died, or been killed by an unknown assailant.

Of course, because of this, there were people seeking revenge on Lucy but… she killed them all brutally in front of the shop by dismembering their bodies and beheading them.

Under his eyes, Allen saw how Lucy nonchalantly drag the head and throw it on one of the monsters cages inside and feed it.

That is why, unlike how she looks, this girl’s frighteningly strong!

Lucy was really a terrifying existence!

Second, one at a time.

It was a very strange rule. Only one person should come in the shop.

As for this rule, Allen actually pondered over for quite some time.  But, why?

If another person found the shop and was found out that he/she has a relationship even if it was a little of the people who knows the existence of the shop, they will suffer punishment and since then would never be allowed to use the shop!

This was also the reason why Allen didn’t bring Aileen or Mia with him.

Once Allen had asked Lucy why this kind of rule existed before.

‘Because this shop isn’t meant for people and only an individual whose fate was connected to it should know its existence. ‘That’ is this kind of place. As for the connection…who knows?’ Is what Lucy answered while wearing a mysterious smile.

“…do you comply with these two rules?” Lucy asked Allen after explaining the two rules.

Allen nodded without hesitation.

“…seeing that you have a destiny with this shop, please do a pledge that you comply with these two rules.”

“I pledge my life that I will certainly follow the rules given!”

“Very good.” Lucy’s smile never leaves her face.

However, this smile suddenly became even more brilliant as her eyes forming slight crescents as she chuckled before saying something Allen found unbelievable.

“You’re still just the same as you were before, you.”

!!

“Welcome to my shop again, Mister Allen…”

“Wha-?!”

Because of surprised, Allen sub consciously stood up from his chair and jump away in shock.

“You…”

“Please relax my old friend. Things not meant to be known should be buried along the passage of time.”

- I know what you want to ask me, but I can’t answer your questions. Allen seemed to feel Lucy saying these words.

“…but still, I’m actually surprised to see you again so soon. Not just that, you even brought ‘something’ along with you from ‘that’ world.” Lucy spoke with a hint of interest.

“What? Something? What are you talking about?”

“Not now, my old friend. You will certainly know it in the future… anyway, since you are here, you should need something right? You know the drills, so there’s no need for me to repeat all the things you need to know. Just like before, you can use this shop for a month.”

One month.

In the ‘Past’ after one month, this shop suddenly disappears into thin air and will be relocated to another place.

In fact, aside from the first time, Allen only saw this place again twice in different places and all of it was done accidentally.

Allen now has many questions but he also knows that even if he asked her, she would never tell him anything. And so, he could only follow her quietly at the back of the counter.

“…but I never expected for you to remember me.” Allen started while following her.

“Well, after all, I have some impression on you. The strangest human I have ever met, I do believe~”

“… …”

“The truth is, I’m also surprised to see you here. In fact, I’m not so sure at first and only held some suspicions seeing that you visit too early, so I tested you. Seeing your dull reactions as if you’re in play, I was then convinced.” Lucy nodded as if she finds it amusing.

“Dull huh? So what is my compliment for?”

“Fufu, well hearing your compliment doesn’t sound too bad. But I was actually waiting for your confession you know, too bad it didn’t happen~” a silly little grin very cutely, very giddily climbed onto Lucy’s face.

Allen stood rooted on the spot after hearing her saying that and his face started burning.

In the ‘Past’, Allen once asked her that as a test. He said, ‘Please be my girlfriend’ in a very, very serious tone.

Reason? Because Lucy was very strong and possess many valuable things, who wouldn’t feel moved?

- Though the main reason was still that, Lucy despite her fearsomeness was a very beautiful girl.

The result… he was rejected.

“…I’m amazed you still remember that.”

“Well, of course, it was the 355th confession I received, after all, ~” Lucy answered as if she was boasting it.

A lie.

Allen grimaced. Before she said it was the 156th confession, how come it suddenly turned into 355th? Where did the 199th number come from?

But Allen was carrying the same belief with a certain cook pirate that ‘A real man forgives a woman’s life’ and so he let it be. He just pretends that he didn’t hear it.

“Miss Lucy, can you tell me why I returned back in time?”

“… …”

Allen tried asking but as expected, Lucy only kept her silence. Because of this, he suddenly felt dejected.

“… …You didn’t return back in time…” But after a short silence, Lucy suddenly spoke in a soft voice, catching Allen completely off guard.

She actually answered!?

“What do you mean? I’m here…”

“Time is an absolute existence. Even Gods can’t control it, much less reversing it. It will only flow forward and won’t ever stop nor turn back.”

“… …”

“This isn’t the world you remember…” Lucy turned around and looked at Allen directly.

“…Do you know about parallel worlds?”

“Parallel worlds? Are you talking about that hypothetical self-contained reality that said to be coexisting with this world?”

A theory about another world or universe just likes this world.

“Not bad~ that is right; you can say that this is completely another world. You didn’t turn back in time, because that itself is impossible and was in fact transported to another world, in this world.”

“Even if you say that… this is just like the world I remember. Even the flow of events is very similar to what it was back then… so that is…”

“…of course it will be. This is a parallel world that possesses similar possibilities with that world you remember.”

Possibilities…

“There are many worlds apart from the world you know of. But those worlds aren’t what you think they are… the world, or maybe the universe you know is just one of the possibilities.”

“… …”

“Everything is only made up of possibilities or what you call potential.

There might be a possibility that you will become a warrior, there also possible that you might just become a beggar, or maybe a king, or an emperor.

Each of these possibilities has their own world… this world is the same but with only one difference. This world has the same possibilities with the world you remember of.”

Many worlds…? Is that the same as the multiverse?

“So the monsters that suddenly appeared…” Allen realized something

“You are smart…” Lucy gave an ‘Amazing’ look at Allen. “Your guess is right. These monsters are inhabitants of these possibilities I mentioned. They are native of many parallel universes. These creatures are created by you…not anyone.”

!!

“…Parallel universe is created because of possibilities, and so where do you think these possibilities came from?”

“… from us…” Allen’s eyes widened in shock as a realization kicks in.
