Chapter 623: [Hero(2)]

Chapter 623: [Hero(2)]

“Not to mention, if you look at his status, which was not far in years from us. You just can’t help but feel that heavens are truly unfair. We are the real descendants of Gods and yet, the heavens didn’t give us such talent and instead give it to a mortal far beneath us—not to mention, a Demon…!” Alva sighs bitterly, feeling slightly envious. “…one can’t help but wonder, if that talent was turned against us, would the Celestial Realm, and us Gods hold on…? What can we even do…?”

“… …”

Mair side-stepped casually like she was on a stroll and a large claw struck her former position. Without a change in expression, her palm gathered magical power and then like a strong gust of wind, she sent a large ape flying away. Then, she turned towards Alva who was fighting beside her, “Why not think of this in this way then—that man was given such talents by the heavens, because, it knew that he wouldn’t do anything against good and righteousness… that it always be used against evil and protect justice…?”

“Hmph! Even if that is the case, why give it to a Demon? Why not give it to us Gods? Besides, who knew if he would really remain an ally until the end? A Demon will always be a Demon in the end…!”

“…and that’s why…” Mair smiled faintly.

“…??” Alva halted and turned towards Mair who was still smiling genially. “What do you mean…?”

“…A notion of what is really good? What is really evil? Is good actually good? Is evil actually evil…?” Mair muttered solemnly.

“What do you want to say? Stop speaking in riddles!” Alva frowned and suddenly felt annoyed.

“…In Ancient Times, Gods are far worse than Demons. Demons are far better than Gods… that is in the eyes of the mortals at least…”

“What?”

“…in short, what you see and perceived, sometimes it’s not what you think them to be.” Mair smiled faintly. She then turned her gaze towards the Dome-like thing in the distance and her gaze somehow softened. “Gods can be crueler than Demons, Demons can be kinder than Gods. However, to us, descendants of Gods will always think and perceive that Gods are justice…Gods are right. And then, Demons are vile and worst creatures in the world. That Demon is needed to be purged and killed…isn’t that what you think as well?”

“You, you do know what you are saying right now… is blasphemy, right?!” Alva frowned, giving Mair a warning.

“Blasphemy? Ha ha, in knowledge and truth, there’s no such thing as blasphemy. We the Mimir Clan are always in the side of knowledge and truth, why do you say that my words are blasphemy of the world?” Mair grinned with a roguish expression. “That is why sometimes, mortals are far better than Gods. Because they don’t possess a one-track mind.”

“Are you calling me narrowed minded?!” Alva hissed. Her expression turned malevolent.

“Oh please, don’t go there…” Mair rolled her eyes. “Well, we got off track on our topic… anyway, probably the heavens gave that person that kind pf power because… unlike us, he thought such things on a different scale.”

“What do you mean by different scale?”

“…that Demons are not always vile and evil.”

“…?!”

“There were also some things in this world that we haven’t yet understood even after living for who knows how many years. Co-existence, harmony, true love… probably…”

“That Demons and Gods can co-exist? That’s impossible!!”

“Isn’t that the reason why the heavens didn’t give you the power and talent you wanted oh so greatly~”

Mair chuckled in amusement.

“You!!!”

“…face it, Alva. The Heaven wouldn’t give powers to human just because it wanted. It always has a purpose and reason…” Mair sigh as she cast her gaze to the sky as if full of melancholy and sorrow; “If the heaven chooses him, then it means, that ‘man’ has far worse fate than we had. Heroes always don’t end well… I can only pity those who followed him….”

“A Hero’s fate… huh…” Alva shook her head. “If what you said is real, a Demon becoming a Hero… the heavens sure know how to play interesting games…”

“…it sure did…” Mair watched as Eerika finally was about to reach the Dome of dark clouds. “Let’s just hope…that this Hero of ours would be different from all those Heroes before him. That he would tread a path that was different from what was already laid in front of him…”

“He’s not yet a Hero… and I haven’t seen him as one, never would probably…” scoffed Alva. “I still don’t trust a Demon…” she said as she charges towards another group of monsters. “Celestial Realm will be saved…by a God!” she declared with firm determination and belief!

“…not by a Demon!”

“… …” Mair look at her back and could only shake her head in helplessness.

Eerika, along with other Asgardians mowed down the enemies in front of them with crazy-like fighting spirit and murderous aura. However, suddenly Troy’s heart suddenly skipped a beat. His eyes widened as he looked at a red shadow not too far away that was heading towards them.

“This is bad, that is… a fourth-level demonic beast, Toxic Flood Python!”

“Eerika don’t move too fast! We need to regroup!!”

The Toxic Flood Python was over 200 feet long, and its writhing body was thicker than a century-old tree. Every blue colored scale of its body was larger than a warrior’s tower shield, and its sharp fangs were like spears, glistening with a ferocious purple liquid that gave others a sense of fear and dread. When it opened its mouth, it was wide enough to swallow an elephant whole.

This python monster was one of the strongest of the fourth-level demonic beasts that they had seen. Still, its strength was equal to an initial Fifth-level Demonic Beast due to its terrifying defense and toxic that can kill a Lesser Deity within an hour. Within the entire Norse God City – if one didn’t include the great Mid God experts– it would be difficult for anyone to defeat this beast alone.

It had to be known that even the Clan Master and the other God Council all was at the peak of Lesser Deity and was undefeatable under Mid God.

“Eerika, be careful!”

Troy screamed from behind, as he watched Eerika, stubbornly rush in.

“Eerika, that is a fourth-level demonic beast! Wait for us to come over and we will fight together with you!”

Troy immediately began to slash his way towards Eerika. If this python monster managed to reach the city walls, it would be able to sweep away the entire tower shield defensive line with a single swing of its tail. Once the defensive line was broken, Asgard’s loss would be immeasurable; they would all be overwhelmed even if they won this war this time!

Now they could only rely on Eerika and themselves due to the fact that all prestigious personnel is also fighting Fifth level monsters and Demons and above ins some other way. This terrible monster would be hard to deal with if they come together!

“Hmph!!” Eerika watched that python that was like a small hill, and her eyes narrowed. Is this bastard trying to block her way towards Allen…?! Did it think she had the time to waste here?!

You’re courting death!!

Eerika’s hatred and fury burned stronger. Pu pu pu—! Her spear swept out, making a killing circle. As all of the monsters around her were swept away, she then aimed her spear and thrust towards the Toxic Flood Python.

“Eerika, be careful!”

The other Asgardians and High Human soldiers had no idea what the limit of Eerika’s strength was. To them, the geniuses of the Norse Clan were too remote of an existence. Although they knew that Eerika was absurdly powerful, everyone still held their breath as they watched the young lady charge towards the Toxic Flood Python alone with their own eyes.

SHhhhaaaaAAAAAssSSShhhHH—!!!

The Toxic Flood Python cried out with a grating scream, and its massive tail swung towards Eerika like a whip.

“Too slow!” Eerika snorted and her body flashed golden, before disappearing, easily dodging the giant Flood Python’s strike.

BoooOOmmMM—!!

The python’s broad tail smashed the ground, cracking the earth and causing the battlefield to shake. Several unlucky monsters and demons were crushed into bloody piles of goo!

As Troy and the others saw this scene while rushing over, they felt chills run up their spine. A fourth-level demonic beast was truly a fearful existence. If Eerika was struck by that tail, not even her bones would be leftover. Not only that, but its attack speed was so quick. With their piddling movement techniques, Troy had no idea if he could dodge it as well…

A moment ago, several of the youths who have confidence in their abilities had shouted out that they would join forces with Eerika and kill the vicious beast, but now that they saw just how deadly it was, they suddenly wondered to themselves: could they really help?

They would probably die as collateral damage!

It was not just these geniuses who were direct descendants of Gods, but the other soldiers were in a worse situation.

Especially the High Humans and the other were mostly at the early Emperor to Mid Emperor Realm; their own individual strength was all less than Eerika by a large margin. If they were even scratched by that Toxic Flood Python’s tail, they would probably die on the spot!

Besides the prodigies of the younger generation like Eerika, no one had the qualifications to tangle with the Toxic Flood Python. Whoever came up would die!

Boom!!

Boom!!

The toxic Flood Python repeatedly smashed the ground with its brutal tail and was even spewing poison from its mouth—soldiers and monsters alike, the moment they touched the poison, they immediately howled in pain as their bodies started corroding and dying. It’s as if the poison spit was acidic water that melts even the bones. Truly terrifying!

Eerika dodged using her superior movement. It looked like everywhere she went there was a danger that put her in a dead end, but every time she would just manage to barely dodge the Toxic Flood Python’s attack.

Many people watching the battle began to sweat from all pores. If Eerika mistimed a dodge even once, she would die!

Eerika was the Norse Clan’s future hope. If she died here then… not only would the Norse Clan suffer an immeasurable loss, but they might not even be able to defend Asgard.

Many people gulped in anxiety. Right now they were incomparably nervous, but they were also completely helpless.

Dozens of massacred monsters and humans corpses lay bloody and grotesque on the ground. None of the other demons much fewer monsters dared to approach, leaving a wide space that was several hundred feet wide for Eerika and the Toxic Flood Python to fight. At this time, the entire beast tide stampede has slowed down.

Puwaaaa—!! The Toxic Flood Python opened its gaping maw, revealing its terrifying fangs and suddenly spat out a large glob of venom. This human didn’t even dare to fight it head-on, but was actually jumping all around; this caused the toxic Flood Python to be thoroughly enraged and annoyed.

The glob of venom flew into the air and then scattered, falling like driving rain; it was undodgeable.

“Get Lost!!”

As Eerika was about to be enveloped by this storm of venom, Troy and the others suddenly arrived, surrounding Eerika, a protective barrier immediately surrounded them.

“I can manage it!” Eerika frowned seeing the others arrived. The droplets of venom rained down on the shield, echoing a Hiisssing—! sound.

“Eerika, fighting alone in this war wouldn’t bring any good results!!” Troy remarked.

“It doesn’t matter! I can kill it! Might as well support the others!”

“No can do! This is not your fight alone!” Wiizz! Troy’s sword vibrated.

Purple arcs of lightning then roared out!

Chi! Crackle! Chi! Crackle!

Under the clouded skies of the evening, the bright illumination of the Purple lightning arcs was even more dazzling! All of the venoms around Troy was burnt away by the power of thunder, his entire body twined with purple lightning. Flash! Without hesitation, the moment the rain of venom stopped. His figure flickered and he disappeared.

With his sword, he thrust towards the Toxic Flood Python.

Electric light sparked!

“… This is also our fight!!” Troy’s handling of the sword was smooth and full of explosive power, even intimidating the surrounding people that were watching the battle. With the ashen clouds as his backdrop, Troy was like a war god of thunder.

The Toxic Flood Python widened its jaws, biting towards Troy!

Pa! Troy immediately avoided with lightning speed, though not before slashing his sword full coated with electricity. Clang!! a loud sound akin to that of two metals clashing against each other echoed out, but it was then covered by the serpent’s shriek when a large lightning bolt struck it from the sky.

Seeing Troy made an attack, the others had also begun moving. They rushed towards the serpent, increasing their speed and accelerating as fast as possible. However, at the next instant, the furious python whose body was already smoking and emitting a burned smell swung its tail towards them.
