Chapter 742: [Enter Demon Palace!]
Allen stood at the center of the surging battlefield.
His face remained impassive and indifferent even though there is already a mountain of corpses that had piled up in front of him. Although he was happy and touched by these people who had rushed here to help and protect him, he suddenly realized that he has nothing to do…
Standing there like a statue was surely not the proper way to do for the General, much less for the King!
Shrugging his shoulders with a wry smile he decided to move on and walked towards the inner part of the Palace. Along the way, countless demons noticed his actions and tried to block his path or kill him but even before he could move, they would be sent away blasting by the demons that protected him, including Asmodeus and Andrealphus who was always monitoring his actions and well-being. They would never forget about protecting him, especially now!
The others literally created a long clean path in front of him, which Allen slowly walked as if he was walking on a red carpet.
“What a rude welcoming party……”
The loud and noisy fighting was making Allen annoyed. With his emotions exploding, he exploded with a terrifying demonic aura.
Snow white flames appeared on his shoulders and arms and in an instant, the entire corridor of the Imperial Palace turned into a world of ice and snow.
Countless snowflakes fell from the sky.
His snow-white flames turn anything it passes through into an ice sculpture, even the Giant Blood Dragon Python that was almost as strong as the demonic dragon-man was rolling on the floor in pain and hardening.
The once warm corridor had become a freezing hell filled with blocks of ice.
The rushing and attacking demon warriors had all become ice sculptures.
Their expressions were frozen and their lives were lost unknowingly.
Throughout the entire battle, Allen did not do anything and just spread his Ice Phoenix Flames. He walked through the corridor with an indifferent expression.
This was only the beginning.
As Allen passed through the wide corridor, more and more monsters and demons rush at him from every direction and the monsters became even stronger than the last, causing even the Ice Phoenix Flames to be unable to kill some enemies and letting him finished the rest.
However, these battles were extremely good for killing time since the Palace was extremely big, and walking through it was extremely boring. He can rush but Allen felt it is troublesome. Who knows what lays in this palace?
An hour and five minutes later, Allen passed a strange hall. Entering it, he couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. This palace indeed befitting the name Demon Palace. There were occasional meteorite rains that sliced across the pitch-black, seemly endless cavernous ceiling, causing a trail of blazing fire before falling to the ground with a boom.
The shock wave from the earthquake came wave after wave and even the entire Palace seemed to shook and tremble.
Just what is this place for?
These demons truly have a strange sense of aesthetic. They had a strange knack for having fun. It was not an illusion or a mirage as he can feel the heat and pressure of the surrounding meteorites that fell from the cavernous hall. Lesser Gods would surely find this place a very troublesome passage and probably would even cost their lives.
Human Kings has a habit of displaying precious artifacts and artworks to glorify and decorate their palaces. But demons, they don't do that shit, and rather decorate their castles with world-ending disasters. How fun.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Not only meteorites, as one walked deeper inside, you would see that there were also rampant volcanic eruptions as numerous magma spurted to the sky and then splattered around the ground.
Towards all these, even Allen has no choice but to dodge while sometimes repel the incoming meteorites with force. He wasn’t willing to waste most of his effort in combating these world-ending disasters.
If it was not for his Physiques and Abilities, he would surely have a hard time passing through it.
This might be a trap or some kind of test, but they sure have some novel way to make traps…
Allen walked leisurely through the strange world-demise hall and into a canyon surrounded by six active volcanoes that seemed to be in a formation similar to the Star of David. In the middle of the canyon was a dormant volcano, and halfway above the volcano was an ancient-like passage. Surreal…
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
Allen nodded his head. This Imperial Palace was full of many tricks. Whether it was Vergil or Mammon, they sure know how to make a fun venue…
After passing through the spiral staircase in the passage, Allen was once again stunned.
It was extremely hot outside, so much so that it was as if one was being roasted in an oven.
But after passing through it, one would found himself in an extremely cold world. He even guessed that the entire space was the size of a hundred football fields, or it might even be even larger as he could only see snowy mountains on the horizon.
What the hell…?!
This is so, so, so elaborate, don’t you think?
Is this still inside the Palace?
He was not sent into a different world, right?
After the trial of fire, now the trial of cold…?
Are all the demons feel so bored?
“Hoo!” Allen heaved out a breath of chilly air. This kind of Cold temperature was enough for even 1st Grade Mid God shudder in freezing cold while Lesser Gods would have become Ice Sculptures if they have nothing to combat it.
What kind of Dungeon Aberration did they turn the Imperial Palace into?
The last time I came here, the palace was still normal... right?
He even recalled that even though there might be no fancy decorations around and within it, but at the very least, it's still a normal, gloomy but tranquil palace that reeks of solitude and boredom. So what in the name of my beloved Hel were they doing while I was away?
Or is this someone's hobby...?
If this is Vergil's doing... then he surely picks up some strange habits while I was gone.
Even still, Allen can't help but smile while walking through the snowy field with wild beating excitement. It's like a Dungeon. As someone who had never step foot into the Imperial Palace of the Demon World, aside from those past incarnations, this was a very thrilling experience.
As expected of my brother, turning his house into a dungeon.
He sure didn't disappoint me!
Even still, do Demons possess masochistic tendencies?
No wonder Allen feels as if the Demons seemed to be stronger than it was before, especially their physiques, even surpassing that of Dragons that should have been the strongest existence in all worlds. Lucifer didn't care, but if this was Vergil's doing, then he must be doing this in order to create the strongest soldiers that could unify the thousand worlds.
How thrilling.
Fortunately, Allen was not someone who would fear fire or cold.
Especially Cold!
Twirling his hands, countless strands of cold air entered his body.
The amazing thing was that not only did the chilly air not turn him into an ice sculpture; they became frost flowers that floated around his body, forming an ice-cold space that surrounded him for ten meters. Everything that touched these frost flowers had become a block of ice in an instant.
[Ice Phoenix Domain]
Allen invoked this ability to guard against his surroundings. It was almost impossible not to have any Monsters or Beasts in this frozen wasteland. The Monsters would surely be completely different from that of the surface and could be described as abnormally strong.
Even those who were Duke Rank Demons or Monsters were a hundred times, and even a thousand times stronger than those of the same rank as the ones found on the surface. Living in this kind of environment, Allen can say that even a tiny worm would become a dragon!
For a sole Mid-God, if he were to let his guard down, he would be dead meat if he were to meet a large group of the monsters in this kind of place.
“Whooosh.”
There was a pile of snow below. Suddenly, a creature erupted from beneath the snow, flashing at Allen like a white flash of lightning.
Fast, but predictable.
Allen sneered in contempt. He raised his hand and clenched his fist, and then smashed it towards the incoming beast.
With a deafening boom, the entire glacier shook under the impact as the sound reverberated throughout the skies and the snowy ground. It was unknown how far the sound traveled.
It was a furry creature that resembled that of a bear with white fur. It was extremely strong and its defense was incredible. Then, something shot towards Allen as he rammed his fist towards the bear’s head, it was a python with black scales. Tracing the source, Allen found that it was connected to the bottom of the Bear that was smashed in the snow—a Bear with a snake as a tail?
Allen made a side-step and dodged the snake’s attack.
Grip! Grabbing the snake's head, Allen's eyes gleamed fiercely. He pulled the snake along with the bear’s body and slammed it on the ground, then pulled again and slammed it again. Clenching his left fist, he throws a punch.
Booooom!
The shock wave propagated out as both sides of the sky looked as if it was torn in half. It was a blazing hell on one side and cold hell on the other.
When it flew in the air, it was already dead, encased in a block of ice.
"These monsters don't seem to be natural-made...they even resembled Chimeras. Especially their magic power is a mess. Are they created by someone? Nevertheless, they are really strong... just that, the imagination of the creator is limited. If I was the one who made it, I would have created something even better," he mused. "And of course, even cooler~"
Fwooosh.
Without waiting for a few seconds, Allen jumped upwards again—the height he leaped was nearly one hundred meters. He raised his hand and Rebellion materialized, slashing it down. He had already long realized the hidden monsters that had surrounded him.
Some were hidden beneath the snowy ground while the others are flying in the sky, covered by the fog. However, at this moment, on a faraway mountain top, an ice dragon-like tornado went towards the lot at a breakneck speed.
Allen struck down, all the monsters hidden were startled and full of shock and they could only stare at his quick moves, seemingly waiting for death to descend, but at this moment, the ice dragon had already surpassed the speed of shockwaves and sound, quickly rushing over.
In the blizzard, a tall shadow with wings on his back reached out his hand and blocked Allen’s sword attack…
His golden claws collided with the Rebellion’s blade silently.
But an instant after, the center of their collision exploded.
