Chapter 452: [ Harsh Wild (2) ]
Seeing this, a frown appeared on Allen’s face. This was really a strange place as it was less likely that there would be plants surviving at such a place with such high temperature as well as boiling lava underground.
All the trees in the forest had trunks and bark resembling crystals. Each of the trees looked like they had been burnt by extremely high-temperature flames as smoke was rising from the roots up to every leaf. However, the tree branches still remained in its original form, giving a magnificent spectacle.
“What a magnificent world…” Allen took in a long breath, his entire face held a calm expression.
On both sides, pools after pools of red-colored lava bubbled like boiling water…
However, it wasn’t normal Lava. With Allen’s acute senses and perception, he realized that this place was extremely rich in magic power. The lave, the trees, and even the soil—all had mana within them!
Unquestionably, the wind here was scorching hot as the air’s temperature reached a terrifying height. If it were normal Deities, even if they were Mid Gods, they would certainly have a hard time adjusting to this place.
Just with the temperature here alone, let alone a Lesser Deity, even if it was Mid God, he would only be able to barely endure. This was a harsh world, a world no one would dare to venture!
Fighting here would mean in a disadvantage, no matter how powerful they are! However, Allen was different!
The temperature here to Allen could only be described with one word: Comfortable!
Comfortable to the extent that it was the same as leisurely soaking inside warm water. staying here is like submerging into a Hot Spring, relaxing!
In terms of his level only, entering this kind of place could be considered as presumptuous. However, he obtained a body that was immune to any kind of fire after swallowing the Firebird Bennu’s Soul Essence. If it was just his original body, only relying on his Dragon Physique, it would be quite a trial but now that he had such a heaven opposing cheat, this place had already lost its scare.
This world… is his world…!
“Welcome to my world—[ Harsh Wild ].” As Allen was curiously surveying the entire scenery, a voice nearby greeted him.
Allen lifted his head to look at the sky and his eyes slightly widened. There, the usually winged tiger king was completely different. Instead of a massive tiger with wings, it was a human!
He was a tall middle-aged man floating in the air, suspended with a cool poise. His hair was long and flaming red and he had a stubbly beard on his chin. He was clad in a pitch black cloak and just seeing him like this one still could not help but feel a strange intimidation about him. long straight nose, sunken cheeks but pupils glowing red flaming color.
One look seemed to burn those he looks at.
His long, narrow feline eyes looked like they were closed. Although he seemed like a nice man, Allen could sense a dangerous aura coming from him. He put his guard up instinctively.
“Is this your real appearance?”
The man descended from the air and smiled oddly at Allen. His tone deep, rough… but filled with undisguised power and confidence!
“No, no… this is my human form and the majestic one you had seen before was my real one. It’s been a long time since I had assumed this form but seeing that you are also a Monster King, bravely coming here from a distant land, of course, I need to show my respect. Though I’m not fond of using this form—!” His tone was filled with regret and unwillingness as if he was helplessly being forced to do something he doesn’t want to.
“Hooo,” Allen glanced at him in a teasing way. “Then, I feel honored… but such consideration is actually not important.”
“Ha ha, probably. However, I don’t know what you came here for nor am I interested. But since I am a Monster King, I need to fulfill my duty—and that is to kill you!” Hanjin’s feline-like eyes narrowed.
“Still, I have really underestimated you, thus I have no choice but to use this ability. It is really unexpected that you were actually hiding such terrifying strength within your frail mortal body. No wonder you always have nothing to fear.” Hanjin’s aura exploded in burning flames, literally as even the air surrounding seemed to have ignited in a blazing fire. “But… in front of me, such power is insignificant!”
Allen snorted. “You can try, but let me warn you. Those who had wanted the same thing before, all had met their end, instead.” Allen’s pupils narrowed. Then, his gaze softened as he looked around at the same kind, his expression curious and somewhat full of interest; “One thing, what is this world? Is this real or illusion?”
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
“Oh?” Hearing Allen’s question, the winged tiger king’s eyes widened a bit. Surprised. He raised his eyebrows and asked, “Is this your first time seeing this?”
“Well, yeah…”Allen honestly replied.
“No wonder. Well, I can tell you if you managed to survive and win against me. This is a very important aspect of Deities but if you died here, it would be useless telling you~” Hanjin smirked.
After saying what he wants, Hanjin’s skin started to change color and its body appeared to be filled with lava.
The lava was from beneath them, slowly crawling towards Hanjin’s body.
Its tanned skin turned dark red at first, but soon it became a flaming red. Hanjin was then covered in a flaming red crystal-like cast within seconds.
It was his [ Crystal Armor ] skill. With that, his defense was at its peak.
“Introduction ended and now, let this battle started. I will kill you and devour your body!” The ground suddenly shook.
ROOOOOAAAARRR!!!
He roared, and the anger was vented to a certain extent.
“You can try…” Allen’s face was covered with indifference. There was not the slightest fluctuation because of Hanjin’s words or his power. He lifted his eyes and bright red-colored flame in his hand abruptly surged forth, covering his right arm as if forming into an armor.
“In so many years, there has not been a single person who has been able to survive, when I, Monster King Hanjin, wanted them to die!”
Hanjin’s eyes were ice cold. Following his words, the air around him began to fluctuate. Waves of wild wind agglomerated around his body. As this pale-crimson colored wild wind gathered around him, it brought a very hot temperature with it.
Allen’s expression became slightly gloomy. A force that did not lose to that which erupted from Hanjin slowly overflowed from his body. His footsteps gently stepped on the ground and immediately flashed and appeared in front of Hanjin.
The killing intent in his eyes was vivid. He didn't even try to hide it.
The cold wind was blowing coldly. All of a sudden, it felt like as cold as winter, even though they were in a volcanic world!
“Quit giving out conclusions that will unlikely to happen, it might save a bit of your face when you learned about the conclusion…” Allen’s eyebrows twitched and muttered to himself with a cold smile as he eyed the rippling fiery tornado around.
Allen’s silhouette flickered and, looking elegant and graceful, he moved away.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Their figures blurred as they clashed at an incredibly high speed. When they stopped, they were facing each other with only a distance of fewer than two meters. Both of their arms blurred while creating dozens of afterimages. The ground beneath them burrowed, creating a huge crater. Even the lava spilled out and danced in the air.
But neither of them stopped.
Hanjin’s hand shot out explosively. A faint black shadow swept through the air. His claws sliced through the air like a poisonous snake and thrust towards Allen’s throat.
“Hmph!” Killing intent flashed through Allen’s eyes. With his Phantom, he pushed his body into the air, causing Hanjin’s lightning-speed attack to hit the air.
While in the air, Allen’s body stiffened, and although he felt no pain, a streak of blood leaked from the corner of his mouth.
When he moved his body at top speed, it momentarily agitated his internal injury, which had yet to heal completely.
I have to end this battle quickly… Allen held onto his chest for a bit. Although no pain but damage was not to be ignored.
Soon, the sky turned dark. The area within 100 meters was covered in dark clouds and it looked like night had fallen. Hanjin stared at the sky in confusion. He could see faint golden lightning within the dark clouds.
Even in this place, Allen’s power was able to activate.
Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck Hanjin. One lightning bolt, two bolts, three bolts…The lightning bolts were raining down on Hanjin like a freak thunderstorm. Nevertheless, Hanjin did not run away or even defend itself.
“Just this?!” Hanjin snorted.
“Die…!!” Cold flames flashed through Allen’s eyes.
The flames around his body soared and his pair of angelic wings suddenly blazed in crimson flames, bringing about a frightful heat wave, as Allen dove towards Hanjin.
As a winged tiger king, Hanjin was above any normal Mid Gods in speed, be it his movements or the speed of his attacks, they were both as fast as a stream of light.
But in Allen’s eyes, they were slower compared to him. Although they were delayed only for only a few seconds, Allen’s Godly vision still managed to catch on them. this can be greatly attributed to his [ Sharingan ] motion catching ability!
And then, right in front of Hanjin, Allen, who was initially still about a dozen meters away from him, had suddenly appeared right before him.
The frightening speed he displayed was akin to that of a falling meteor. Blazing with fiery might! Hanjin was completely unable to react in time, and what’s more, was that the impact which struck him head on—it was terrifying enough to cause him to pale in fright.
Boooom!!
In the next moment, only an explosion could be heard. A large fireball exploded between Allen and Hanjin, instantly dispersing the afterimage created by Hanjin from his attacks.
Still, Hanjin managed to block Allen’s fist with his arms crossed in front of his chest. However, the momentum from Allen’s punch did not decrease as it ruthlessly smashed into Hanjin’s chest.
Bang!!!
Hanjin’s protective barrier he had created, under the combined might of Allen’s flames and the energy of his lightning, broke apart like a piece of scrap paper.
Puchi—!!? Hanjin spat out a mouthful of blood as his body was pushed back a few meters. Hanjin frowned. Allen’s attack was actually as strong as a tidal wave, which could envelop his entirety within. His firestorm barrier was completely dispersed in an instant.
How terrifying…
But that is only just deserved! He wouldn’t be a monster king without this kind of power!
The only thing that he couldn’t understand was that this anomaly was yet to reach Mid God and yet this kind of power was actually shown from him? Not to forget, he was already a Peak Mid God and yet, he didn’t take any advantage of that exchange!
Is this still the law of heaven…?
A lesser deity was comparable to a Peak Mid God—what kind of Logic is this! Even if he told this to those other old monsters, not one would ever believe him!
