Chapter 587: [ Allen of the Previous World ]
“… If only I could be of help,”
“But Master always seems to be…um, having fun…”
As the usual family was conversing, another voice joined.
It was coming from the right side of the room—another sofa leaned on the wall and beside it was a half-meter sized iceball-like thing that rotating in a turtle speed, it looked like a model of Earth.
There sitting timidly, were Si Mulan, Lan Ling ‘er and lastly Bu Fanyi who was following Si Mulan closely—in which all of them had a hard time joining the conversation and could only look around in curiosity and interest.
For them, the room was full of novel and interesting ‘magic items’ that makes their eyes shine in sparkle and make their minds blown.
“This is really a strange room…” Bu Fanyi muttered subconsciously as her eyes were fixated on the dozen screens on the east side wall.
Each of them was showing different location but Bu Fanyi was certain that these locations where just around the closed premises of the castle—in fact, she can even see the members of the Dawn at one monitor and some unfamiliar people within a forest in another monitor. Really interesting…!
“Master is always smiling and happy… in fact, he looked even happier when he was fighting…” Si Mulan muttered with a faint smile. Since she was Allen’s disciple, unlike Lan Ling’er and Bu Fanyi, she was actually quite proud of it and wanted to share her views as well.
Layla and the others glanced at her and then, Liu Muxiao chuckled in amusement. “I can’t not agree on you, in that way. He always says he dislikes fighting but in fact, he was a battlejunkie as well, much more than Mia or this idiot Celty…”
“Who are you calling an idiot, stupid Muxiao!!” Celty cried out in anger. “But you’re right… you sure understand husband well, disciple~”
Celty grinned as her gaze had a ‘very good’ kind of game face on.
“He he, ah, um… thanks,” Si Mulan smiled bashfully after being complimented.
“I don’t know why Allen didn’t want to admit it himself—but he really turned hypocrite sometimes, especially in this kind of matters.”
In fact, Celty had always wanted to ask Allen numerous times in the past as to why during such perilous situations, why does he show such an expression?
The more she fought alongside him, the more Celty wanted to ask, how can he show such an innocent smile in the midst of battle?
He claims he dislikes fighting but when the battle is getting heated up, his spirit blazed even stronger than anyone in the field and his expression becoming even happier. Especially if the battle is one in the losing side…
In their past lives, he always shows a modest personality, common-sense behavior, and a pacifist lifestyle, as if always afraid of catching attention or going into trouble. Even so, he occasionally acted in slightly odd ways that make one speechless and not knowing whether they should applaud him or criticize him for being too foolish.
Because when he did, Allen would seem to become a new person, a new character—a person that smiles and laughs even if he was surrounded by hundreds of men wanting his life…
He’s a very complicated person, for sure—
“But that makes him really cute though~”
“Right~”
“… but you know, I never thought he would get a disciple… I guess that means he was changing…” Celty suddenly said with a tinged of pleasant surprise in her voice as she had a sudden realization.
“Eh? Ahm, what…do you mean…?” Si Mulan was taken aback by Celty’s sudden words and asked in surprise.
“Indeed, but I don’t think that is a bad thing though…” Liu Muxiao muttered, feeling pleased. This change of him, even for her, is a welcoming thing…
“Ahm…”
“Hahaha, nah don’t mind it Mulan… we’re just talking about the past,” Liu Muxiao smiled faintly while staring at Si Mulan’s confused expression. “You see, there were many people who wanted to be in the same position as you in the past—”
“Yes?”
“…but no one had succeeded, even one…” Celty chided with a chuckle.
“… …?!”
Liu Muxiao nodded her head and continued with a pleasant smile, “Princesses, Kings of large kingdoms, Princes, son of nobles and high born aristocrats, many had tried but no one had succeeded. Not because they are not worthy or don’t have potential, In fact, most of them were famous people who had made a name for themselves, dazzling their generation…”
“But…” Celty stared at her glass, half-empty. Nostalgia filling her eyes, as her gaze turned glassy and daze; “Allen didn’t like humans… no, it should be said that he really hates people.”
She said such a shocking thing so easily.
Silence pervaded the room.
Then, Celty drank a mouthful of the wind, took a deep breath, exhaled greatly, and returned her gaze at Si Mulan who was looking at her in a pleasant surprise.
Liu Muxiao and the others just shrugged. Aside from Layla who didn’t really care about it, Alkrasha, Xue Ling, and the others had somehow able to realize it themselves.
“This was him before—all alone, wanting to be separated from people, wearing all black as if he was always mourning on someone. He was gloomy, indifferent, always having this hard to approached aura—in any case, being happy is one of the least expression we could associate him with…”
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
“With you only knowing Allen as he is now, I’m sure it’s hard to imagine but that was how he was used to be…”
“…although I already heard about it many times from Mia but… my pitiful Allen really lived a sorrowful life, wasn’t he?” Layla sighs bitterly, hating herself for not being there when he needed her the most. Although she had heard about it, hearing it every time really makes heart quenched from sorrow and blame.
Alkrasha smiled at her and then placed her hand and started stroking her hair, “It’s fine… all is past, the most important thing is the present…and I’m certain that Allen never blame you and he would surely be sad if you make yourself depressed about this.”
“… yeah, I know…”
Sensing the sudden gloomy atmosphere in the room, Liu Muxiao chuckled as if to lighten the mood.
“Well, in any case, Allen did hate people. It’s not just an expression. That is also the reason why he never takes any people aside from those who had surely attracted his interest—just like, Xue Ling… right?” she grinned teasingly.
“Sister Muxiao, you’re always teasing me, don’t you?” Xue Ling glared at her. But anyone could see her cheeks getting flushed.
“Ha ha ha, that’s why, when the Dawn Alliance was established, Mia and I invited him—it was really, really difficult at first but I guess, he had also felt the danger from Demon Invasion at that time, he yielded…”
“I even remember Sister Alkrasha acting so damn almighty, it always pisses me off!” Celty suddenly muttered with a mischievous smirk.
“Yeah, especially the times when she always trashed us around…!” Liu Muxiao smiled mischievously. “Now that I think about it, I haven’t had my revenge, did I?”
“Mah mah, don’t call her with my name, it’s kinda frustrating. Although she is indeed me, she is not me at the same time…!” Alkrasha pouted in annoyance. This kind of thing, she really couldn’t help herself with this. Knowing you but not you, really feel oneself complicated.
“He he he, Sister Alkrasha was really bad at that time. Besides, I remembered her acting S on Allen, beating him so much he’s on the verge of fainting every time…although we felt mad at that time but now that we think about it, it was kinda funny.”
“She beat us black and blue, even Allen who was always the toughest among us, yielded after having his limbs crushed and fortunately escaped with only a bit of his life. I remember Elder Sister Maria was crying about it because Allen, Bernard, and Daniel, almost kicked the bucket…”
“Yeah right, among the Demon Generals, Alkrasha was the most wicked and most hateful opponent—she’s a huge S in terms of playing with her enemies! So hateful!”
“Now you’re only scolding me, huh…” Alkrasha sigh.
She was getting annoyed.
Liu Muxiao stared at her and her lips arched in a mischievous grin. “But who would expect, even the great Alkrasha had fallen in the infamous evil lady killer’s hands…ahh, fate is really a bitch~”
“…Now, Alkrasha was on the M side—of course above the bed…” Celty laughed heartily.
“… so vulgar…” Alkrasha glared at Liu Muxiao and Celty who was laughing to the point of trembling at the same time.
Their laughter echoed in the room, like gongs and bells of archangels, so pleasant to hear. And most of all, they were pure and filled with happiness and warmth of family.
Alkrasha was irritated but she didn’t take it to heart. She had grown up and was completely different from the time she and Allen first met. Her heart became as big as the world and as vast as the ocean, especially when she became a mother. She looked at the two girls teasing her and couldn’t help but smile wryly. These two idiots, they are always on edge against others and fault each other for every little damn thing. However, when moments like this, for some reason, they really become the best of friends!
“Fufufu,”
Layla and Xue Ling as well laughed in amusement.
—On a side note, at this moment, the twin fox sisters were…sleeping. Kukaa~they were sleeping so soundly. It seemed that they drink themselves to sleep—though, that shouldn’t be possible since they were drinking with Celty, the latter should have been drunk already as well.
However, seeing the bottle in front of them—it was obvious they picked the wine that would make heavy drinker gone waste even after a sip—a special blend that was made by the Greek God of Wine himself; Dionysius that Allen had received (stolen) from Mt’ Olympus—[Special Brewed Wine—Dad’s an Idiot By: Dionysius] was written in Greek styled format at the label plastered on the front of the bottle.
Dionysius might have really disliked his father…!
However, if Allen knows this, how heartbroken he would be!
He didn’t have the heart to drink it, wanting to savor it to a very special occasion. But now—his heart would surely bleed if he knew what had happened to his beloved wine…!
…
“Ah, that was life… we really on despair all the time we met her… though Allen was always the only who would come up with strange antics every now and then that would lighten up the mood in our hopeless situation.”
“Speaking of which, I had some dreams about it every now and then… just like Sister Muxiao who just watched me die…” Xue Ling joined in. However, although her words are kinda sharp, her lips were arching in a playful manner.
“Please don’t let me recall those times… I know I am an idiot before. I was like caged a princess who couldn’t choose the man I loved because of my own duties…” Liu Muxiao grabbed her head with both her hands as she grumbled. “…I regret those times… if I didn’t I’m sure I would now recall fun times with Allen and Xiao Shuang together… really…I know I am an idiot…!”
“Well, you’re still an idiot even now though…”
Hearing Celty’s voice, Liu Muxiao’s brows twitched. She can accept Xue Ling’s blame but she could never allow herself to be called an idiot by Celty—It's just like the pot calling kettle black! Damn frustrating!
“Not as much as you…!”
Kaching! Electric sparks appeared as Liu Muxiao and Celty glared at each other.
Layla could only give a wry smile as she watched Liu Muxiao and Celty quarrel. She reached her right hand out and towards that image that was worth noticing before expanding it out with two fingers. The image of Allen smiling as he swung the black sword; Rebellion immediately became bigger as the other images were pushed to the side.
“He really looks like he’s having fun…” she muttered gently.
“It’s been quite a long time since I saw him like that…” Alkrasha muttered with a wry smile. “He was wearing that same expression when we’re fighting the second time we met—that same smile reeks of lunacy and excitement for being back up in a corner…I really couldn’t understand him more and more…”
“No one would be able to. He’s a hard to man to understand…” Layla smiled faintly, “Up until now, I was really worried, sick to death about what he was doing all this time.”
Liu Muxiao, Xue Ling, and the others turned towards Layla.
“What was he doing right now? Is he okay? Is he happy? Is he down…? Such thoughts filled my head, after all, Allen, although he doesn’t show it, he was actually like a little bunny who easily gets lonely when he is left alone but would just grit his teeth and endure it. Not saying anything so that he would not let others worry for him…”
“But seeing him like this, makes me think that Allen had indeed… grown up…”
Layla bit her lips and tears started falling from her eyes.
He doesn’t need someone like me anymore…
It’s kinda lonely…
Alkrasha pulled Layla towards her and stroke her hair gently. “You are wrong, sister. Allen would never forget about you—no matter what happens, no matter how much time pass, he would look after you, worried after you and love you just like what you are doing right now. You are after all his most beloved sister. No one would ever be able to replace you inside his heart, in his life…”
“Alkrasha…”
“I’m sure he feels like that…” Alkrasha turned towards the image that was showing his battle—that very same expression that had made her fall in the rivers of love…
This guy has 100% focused when it comes to some of the peskiest things…
“You might not be his Queen, nor his princess, but you surely are… an Empress within his Castle. Not me, not anyone could shake that fact…” Alkrasha concluded with a faint smile. U-ugh, but his serious face is soooo coool… as always…~!!
Layla's expression brightened from Alkrasha's words, and she couldn't help but giggle in sweetness.
