Chapter 706: [Battle at Gula]

“For example?”

“For example…”

Allen held onto a flask of wine and smiled in a state of daze.

“…Well, plenty...much that I could think of. One of those, is a cliche' question, of 'Who Am I?' 'Where am I going' and the next...Am I walking in my own path…? Walking in this solitary, risk-full, danger-calling-everytime, full of crazy bat-shit people walking uninvited, road of mine...whether it is in my own accord. Not the other way, around.” Allen smiled bitterly.

“…master…”

Allen bit his lips and then closed his eyes, and sigh.

“Well, I know. It's useless to even question it. No one knows the answer. Probably, only Fate itself, but that motherfucker's just not going to answer it for me, with an obedient smile. Though, even if she appears kindly, I would like to talk to her, in all sorts of 'way' and 'topic' that she might not enjoy. Hence, in the end, even if I tried to think about it, I would never be able to find an answer to that question, myself…not yet, I suppose… It's not like the answer to those questions of mine, can just be found in some 24/7 open 20 dollar item shop. For now, all I want to do is to rush to the Imperial and find Vergil, to settle all this, once and for all…”

"... ..."

"Not like I have any other option, other than that simple burger-free barbarian way..."

Allen smiled wryly. His expression was full of self-depreciation.

“Master…but what about Mammon and the other Princes and Knights…?”

“Deal with them…not like they would step aside,” Allen said without care.

“…but Master is intending to go alone…isn’t he…?”

Amy asked, her expression dyed with anxiety.

“… …”

Allen thought for a while, when suddenly at this moment—

BOoooooooOOmmm!!!!

An explosion occurred as the place where Allen and the others were sitting suddenly exploded in pieces.

"Well, the so-called uninvited guests just started greeting..."

Allen's annoyed voice echoed in the clouds of dust and debris.

… …

When the clouds of dust and dirt settled, suspended in the air was Allen, Asmodeus, Andrealphus, and Amy—while in front of them was another group; of seven formal clothed demons.

Tuxedos and black dress, the seven demons was looking at Allen’s group with smirking expressions. Well, with all those black outfits that made them look almost like the ol' guys, MIB, they actually look as if they just all came from a funeral.

“I never thought that we would really find the Great Demon Prince, Your Highness, Prince Dante in this kind of place…so that’s what you look like now…?”

A man with a pair of ram horns coiled at each side of his head. He was bewitchingly beautiful and an attractive man appearing in his early thirties, with light blue eyes and purple hair that is slicked back. He has a mysterious aura around him which he claims makes him seem devilish.

“Yoh… Long time no sees. I was looking forward to this spectacular day to come for me to exert my revenge against you… Your Highness, Dante!”

Then, another man appeared. He had a pair of obsidian corrode feathery wings behind, signifying his status as a Fallen Angel.

However,

“…”

Who’s this guy…

Allen frowned slightly. He couldn’t remember anyone with that face.

“Well, must be a small fry… after all, I can’t remember you even if you say that as if you are trying to act cool…”

“Why you—!!”

The instant the fallen angel snarled angrily from Allen’s nonchalant response. A fist of a huge beast was launched towards Allen without any warning.

“…you’re wasting your breath!”

An icy cold voice rang out as a gust of wind struck his face. However, the one who reacted without a moment’s delay and protected Allen with a wall of flames was Amy, who was currently wearing a fierce expression.

“… Though in the earlier battle I left you at large enough to not take your life… It seems like that was a mistake! You incorrigibly intend to bring harm to my master… Have you prepared your resolve, Glasya-labolas?!!”

Amy snarled in intense anger.

“… Tsk. And it was a good chance to hit with my preemptive punch… This is the second time. How you dare to get in my way, you faked-woman!!”

“Indeed, there’s no need for talk!!”

One of the men on the black suit had turned into a giant hound and stood before them.

“… We came here for Prince Dante. In a peaceful way, we hoped. And we shall have him, even if it's using the old ways, isn’t that right, Asbeel!!!”

“…Indeed, Abaddon! Those who stand in our way… I’ll kill them without arguiiiiiiing!”

One after another, those who came after Allen again as if doing a pincer attack were two men and a woman—one turning into a giant weredog that looks like a pit bull, a bat-winged woman with a gothic dress, her body turning into a specter-like ghost and lastly, another fallen angel that turned into a grim reaper like being with a body resembling that of a large human skeleton shrouded in a dark funny attire.

He has a full-body cloak that reveals only his head and hands and there is a pair of beady crimson eyes that can be seen shining eerily from the eye-holes of his fleshless skull.

Each one of them entered into attack motions around Allen.

“I won’t let you!”

“Master! Fall back!”

However, Allen was still unperturbed and appearing leisurely as Asmodeus and Andrealphus behind him, immediately rushed towards the incoming enemies, each of them releasing their own demonic auras.

With this as a signal of battle, the other people of the group also started their assault.

-----Hm!! Allen’s brows furrowed.

Baaang!!

His hand suddenly moved and with his palm, he caught a black colored orb that was flying towards him from a blind spot.

“…………Not bad. Or is it just a coincidence?”

The handsome demon wearing a tuxedo muttered with a faint smile as he saw Allen clenched his fist and the black orb was squashed like a bug.

“If you think that was a coincidence then want to try it one more time?”

“…………I’ll give up on that. I will accept you as the main dish. That is why I will let you go for now.”

Right when the fallen angel steps back a few meters distance away, Allen raised the corners of his mouth and a large lightning bolt crashed down on his former position from the sky, causing a deafening explosion.

However, massive bombarding started from an unexpected direction.

“───!?”

From the sky far above, high-explosive projectiles were raining down.

Rather than ordinary magic attacks or projectile weapons, it was a power that carries the ability to fatally wound even a God or a Dragon. From those highly explosive projectiles, the nearby spires were smashed to bits and blown off in four directions.

Allen looked at the sky but wasn't able to clearly grasp the images of the enemies.

While closely avoiding the unending flame projectiles, he quizzically narrowed his eyes.

It would be difficult to succeed in such surprise attacks from the sky without grasping the exact location of the target as well as prior preparation.

Did they know my location beforehand?

Amidst the torrent of flames, Allen tilted his head while thinking about how they managed to do it.

The accuracy of the enemy's projectiles was extremely high.

The hidden enemies were executing an attack with pinpoint accuracy in this dark night. Even while he's running, the attacks were either hitting him or falling near, and that meant that there was someone who was continuously monitoring him even at this moment.

There were no signs of pursuers in sight.

───That already went beyond the limit of skills.

It's obvious that his pursuer was using some sort of concealment or tracking power and yet able to possess the aspect of killing a God.

Wait… this scent…!

Allen ran through the bombardment and the scattered debris. Then, his attention turned towards the raging battle around him—Asmodeus, Andrealphus, and Amy were getting besieged by not only seven Fallen Angels just now but also from who knows where they came from, was a battalion of many demonic soldiers and warriors.

Although they were not losing even with this large number, still, their distance away from him was getting larger…

The aim of the enemy is…

So that’s what it is… they wanted to isolate me…

Allen furrowed his brows.

But how…?

To be able to prepare an ambush in this kind of place… did they know beforehand that I am here…?

How did they do it…?

His mind recalled Andrealphus and Amy’s appearance but he shook his head. He understands completely their personality—they would not resort to this kind of trickery even if they are indeed had changed sides.

Because even if they are enemies, just like Crocell, they would attack him head-on— as a sign of respect for their master.

They would not think of tricking him…

Furthermore, depending on their fight, they don’t seem to be pretending either… so how…?

While thinking, Allen focused his attention back on the scent he was getting.

Faint…but he seemed to have caught this scent before, or a least something similar…

Just what is…?

Boooom! Baang! Booom!

The raging meteor-like fireballs continued showering above him like the breath of a True Fire Dragon. However, the flames carry the corruption of the Infernal Flames as well as Demonic Energy, so it was surely not a work of a Fire Dragon. Much less, a Dark Dragon… the latter’s flames would be ink black but the ones attacking are blood red in color.

Allen swept his leg and kicked the incoming fireballs while dodging the others.

Jumping in the sky seemed like a bad idea.

He might be able to take down some of them, but if he were to make an appearance, he would most likely be bathed in a concentrated fire from below.

Even though receiving a few hundred fireballs of this caliber would not be a problem, making an appearance when not knowing what kind of trump card the opponent has up their sleeves would only be a fool’s errand.

The ones dropping projectiles are just decoys. They would need good luck to be able to lure me out. The aim of the attackers is to take the initiative to change the current state of affairs…

And their aim is going smoothly so far.

The darkness, as well as the commotion that was occurring amidst the others fight, gave an advantage beyond expectations.

While Allen was firmly waiting for a chance to counterattack, he was unaware of the presence of a mysterious assassin in the dark, let alone being able to notice it.

───There's no doubt.

There is an excellent monster among the side of the enemy.

In that case, this monster who is a key figure needs to be taken down first, then the other enemies.

Allen smiled wryly and widened his ruby eyes that had already changed into the [Setsurigan] to observe the surroundings.

This hidden monster is most likely using some kind of power that clings to him. He's not showing any signs, nor is he making any sounds, and even passed through any kind of detection.

As vast as the Demon World can be, the holders of such strong powers could only be counted on one hand.

…and to be able to have an excellent hiding prowess while being able to track him down, while possessing the power to take down a God…

Allen’s lips curled upward as he seems to realize who his opponent was.

While dodging the blazing attacks as well as the sneak attacks from every direction of the demon soldiers and fallen angels, Allen hastened his thinking.

"Your Highness, Give it up!!"

A voice rang out from below the piled up debris and then a shadow leaped up to him.

The demon soldier howled and closed in for a high-speed attack.

Tip-toeing, Allen’s toe touched the ground gently and then jumped aside, like a water strider on the water surface.

He already knew the position of his opponent.

Since the movement was orthodox, what came next was just a straight path to Allen.

Once he timed the moment of his enemy's move, determining his opponent's position wouldn't be a problem at all.

The important point was how to judge the timing.

Forgetting about the man who just sped past him, Allen’s hand congealed Rebellion, and he raised his sword.

"…then, make me."

He slashed out with his sword as he responded with casual elegance.

He wasn't even thinking of the magic power flowing through his blade. This was a natural movement for him. With Rebellion’s power, the magic power shot out of his blade on the momentum of its slashing movement. It wasn't the same as shooting out magic attacks like a sword blade. He focused his Magic power on one point only.

Without any thrills, Allen’s Rebellion cut through the wind, along with the arcs of blood, and a head was seen making an arc in the air. While the other attacker was spacing out at his suddenly killed comrade, Allen tip-toed once again and shot himself towards another group of demon soldiers like an arrow shot from the bow. And with a sharp light, several lives were reaped in an instant.

Allen leaped into the air, barely avoiding the meteor-like rain of blazing fireballs.

During the time when his body fell, his right hand already brandished, the Rebellion produced a fire beam that was mixed with golden light, the destructive force violently rushed forth, below him more than two hundred demonic warriors were like being firmly pressed down by a towering mountain under its frantic power, they laid flat on the ground, being squeezed until their faces were changed beyond recognition, even the weapons in their hands were deformed due to the great pressure.

With a “bang” sound, that ground which had existed for so many years loudly collapsed, burying those demonic soldiers and warriors who had died horribly deep under the ground.

“Thump!”

Allen finally fell to the ground, the Rebellion was deeply pierced on the broken surface of the ground, the ground surface shook a bit, in the surrounding, there was no other man standing, behind him the demons and monsters who followed were all stupefied, their bodies trembling, shivering as they refused to step forward. That incomparably miserable way of death had easily smashed out the psychological barrier in their hearts.

This is the infamous Demon Prince!

The other soul of the Prince of Absolute Evil— the Demon Prince Dante!

A scarlet bloody red light flickered in Allen’s eyes. He forged ahead against the thick troops of demons before him without care. He used his fastest speed, the terribly fast speed that even the demons considered as Knights of Hell weren’t able to respond on time.

Chi chi chi --------

The sounds of the body parts being cut apart were overlapped together, so terrible that it made one’s heart palpitate.

This time Allen was like a blood-colored drill bit, using the fastest speed that they unable to accept, he violently pierced through his enemies, in the midst of bloody light he rapidly pierced through…...
