Chapter 575: [ What he loves the most, is Freedom! ]

A large crater appeared on the ground causing a cloud of dust to scatter in the surrounding, impeding the vision of those who were watching the battle.

“Your Majesty!!”

The Dragons roared in anger. They turned towards the direction that the Dragon King had crashed and amidst the dust, a silhouette could be seen standing proudly. The blue haired youth stood at the center of the large crater and was staring at up above. His expression was calm but a deadly aura was emitted coming from him.

“What is the meaning of this? Are you that so eager to die…?”

“Die? That’s quite a wonderful goal… but hard to achieve,”

A cold voice rang out.

“Don’t forget, you’re the one who had started this fight… don’t throw that dirt at me!”

“I had already given you a chance to grow up more. Your current ability won’t be able to reach me”

“Is that so…?” Allen chuckled.

At this moment, everyone can finally see his current appearance.

Amidst his devil form, his clothes had apparently changed into a new one. Wearing a pair of black pants with a black belt that had a large silver buckle and a black body armor made from a special rare material, which was extremely stretchy, yet very durable. The black body armor consisted of a black tight and sleeveless shirt with silver accents which outlined his muscles. In addition, it was worn underneath a black trench-coat with gray lining going down the sleeves, and black boots with silver plates to protect his shins.

A shoulder guard was on his right arm, similar to that of a wolf’s head with open jaws. On his hands was a pair of black gauntlets; The Dragon Fang, the gauntlets made by the legendary Kaveh the Blacksmith of Isfahan. On his lower legs was a pair of similarly black greaves with three sharp horns at the top, and black boots with silver plates to protect his shins and three sharp curved claws at the toes.

[ The Garb of the Wolf Lord ]

Allen’s very own creation.

A set item that was the result of manifesting Allen’s ambition and romance.

Wearing this set clothes, Allen’s powers doubled or even tripled… it’s a set item that could be classified as the peak of the Legend Grade!

“…I’m really annoyed, right now… so care to accompany me for a while? Besides, I want to test my gear…” Allen grinned evilly. “In games, abilities, and skills is not the only factor to measure one’s strength—Items as well!”

“… …”

Allen raised his hand and adjusted his gloves and then his sleeves. He was speaking leisurely and unhurried, “You see, this is not the first time I encountered a Monster King like you. That memory opened my eyes to realize my strength is still yet to be enough for my goal. Thus, I work, and worked hard… I wrack my brain as to how I can make myself stronger. Then, I realized that even if I go on like this, it wouldn’t be enough. It wouldn’t still be enough! Time won’t wait for me…” Allen’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

“So, feast your eyes, Dragon King, this is the product of my hard work—using this opportunity, I want to test if my current self is enough to contend against Monster Kings like you… and this place is the best for me to do that…!”

“Acting arrogant, aren’t you?” The Dragon King muttered coldly. Blue scales appeared at the top of his skin and his aura changed fiercely. The pair of horns in his forehead grew slightly bigger. “…I’ll show you, that your arrogance is pathetic!”

“Are you retarded? I’ve never once acted tough! Who cares who wins… stupid kids fight like this. If you really wanna be the ‘strongest’ then you’ve gotta up your game enough to become the god of the world, at least.” Allen snorted. “If I fell down again this time, the only thing I’ll do is, man up and stand back up again…! That is how I managed up until now…!”

After hearing that, the Dragon King suddenly stopped.

In the silence, it felt as if the quality of the air was changing.

“…For God's sake, those are the words of the strong.”

The Dragon King sigh and slightly shook his head.

This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“Hah?” Allen paused. He stared at the Dragon King’s every movement.

“The strong. The strong. The strong. Those are the fearless and cruel words of a Hero who was born with his abilities and does not understand the real world in its reality. Fail, then stand up, then fail, then stand up again—Hah! Foolish words straight out from stories weaved by numerous people to create a childish legend!”

The air in the surrounding began to make an unsettling amount of noise.

“When you fail, you will lose something…and that something will never be able to be recovered again no matter how many times you try to stand up again! The pain of that something is lost—isn’t something that a foolish kid like you would be able to understand!”

A dark flame could be felt on the grit of his words that hinted at just how much of his existence he had abandoned to arrive at the position of one of the strongest Monster King, standing in the summit even in the Celestial Realm. And Allen’s words had made fun of those sacrifices and hardships!

Allen denied all of it with just a few words. Not even once did he turn around.

He did this by never losing.

“Try and fail and then stand up again to succeed…? Incredulous! This is not a fairytale! This is not a Legend! This is not about a Hero cut out from storybooks…! This is a reality! There’s no do-over! Everything disappears when you lose…!!”

The Dragon King roared.

His eyes shone brightly like the clear sky.

BbbaaaaAAAnnnNNNgGG—!!

“… Proper power cannot be perfectly used except for in a proper world and proper circumstances!”

Something invisible exploded out from the Dragon King.

It was the killing intent.

The pressure was so overwhelming that Allen felt a sensation on his skin like it was being torn.

“… …”

But that was no reason to step back.

The man before his eyes was the one holding the title of an existence that could destroy half the world to his liking or change history at his will. To destroy it, he had to crush the source of that pressure.

Allen naturally clenched his right fist. His face turned solemn and full of unusual seriousness.

“…but now that you are so eager to meet your demise, I will withdraw my words and properly show you, resistance is futile, Human King!”

“… Now I will show you what proper power is.”

What intensity…!

Ha ha ha, it’s completely different from Hanjin. So this is how it is… when a Dragon King crowned as a Monster King get serious…!

One normally flees. Running away from the first moment. The only sane choice when facing such a being.

And yet… this is bad. It’s the first time I’ve felt like this!

But… Allen’s tongue slide across his lips and a strange sparkle flashed across his eyes.

The corner of his lips curled upwards.

This is it…! The condition that I had always dreamed of having…!

A real true Dragon…!

“…I accept your challenge, Dragon King! Let this foolish kin of yours see, what true perfection really means…!”

“… ..” Allen accepted that challenge gallantly.

The sharp glint of the other party was replied back with a deep gaze that looked like a tranquil forest.

An obvious eagerness and excitement dyed his eyes!

That voice wasn’t raised to be louder or displayed intense pressure by any means. However, the heavy and deep “something” inside that voice definitely made the others, including Mireya and the rest to unconsciously hitch their voice.

Seeing that, Mireya look loosened up slightly.

This is the real Allen she had once loved…

The one she had admired and longed for, the real Allen that had thrown away all his responsibilities and duties bearing down his shoulders all just to do what he wanted to do! Saving the World? Be damned! Be a Hero? No way! This is a fight I’ve been looking for! What was in front of me was only my enemy—

An enemy that I wish to defeat and surpass!!

A single-minded devotion—

The thirst for battle that he always subconsciously tried to suppress—

“…As long as you can be happy and be satisfied, free yourself and ignore everything that you try to burden yourself with! It’s the duty of ours that followed you to clean everything up, including the mess you had made…!” Mireya muttered with a very gentle voice as she stared at Allen’s imposing figure.

This is her purpose in life and her duty as his wife!

Go havoc… don’t think of anything… just fight till your heart’s content—!!

“Sister Mireya,” Qin who was standing beside Mireya called out. Her expression was a mix of surprise and understanding. Her lips curled upwards!

“…he he, even if I gave my life for you I wouldn’t regret…”

The sight of you walking straight ahead with your gaze fixed in front of you, dazzled me… captivated me…

Whether you are empty or whatever, the sight of you chasing after strength and intently pushing your way forward…

That sight of you was the most wonderful thing in the world. A person with lots of dreams and illusions, tending to do everything unrealistic things. Recklessly challenging everything, diving and fighting dangerous enemies without any planning just to quench your curiosity and interest!

“… I thought that you had changed since our rebirth… but that seems to be a misconception. And although it was kinda bad for me… but I think that I’m glad you didn’t,” Mireya’s eyes turned moist as she clenched her fist. But this was not tears of sorrow and sadness, but tears of joy!

“Sister Mireya… although I understand what you’re saying but… this is really bad. I felt relieved just now since that Dragon King had no intention of fighting but now… Master just went and did it…! That Dragon King is bad news!” Qin asked panicky and full of anxiety.

“No use saying that, Qin.” Mireya smiled faintly. “He was like this, since in our previous life. Reckless and a battle junkie. Moving with only his interest, without caring about the consequences. I feel that was better compared to him, trying to become responsible and burden himself with everything! Though the thing that puzzles me that most is that if I made a comparison between now and before then…his body has aged yet his mind stayed the same… there’s no single change.” She spoke with a nostalgic tone as she watched the two people, contending using their auras, trying to outclass one another!

“… ??”

“But that is fine… Allen is good like that!” Mireya put his hands at each side of her waists and laugh happily. “Allen loves the most, is freedom! But ever since he returned, he always tried becoming responsible… I don’t like seeing him like that. This, just now… is so like him! This is the Allen, I love the most…!”
