Chapter 292: [ Scapegoat ]

Allen thought he had successfully evaded Diamonte’s attack but he was actually wounded, albeit only slightly. But what caught Allen’s attention was – His Logia body was actually wounded…!!

“What are you?” Allen asks with a faint voice.

He felt as if in that very moment, his body had stopped being lightning but instead a normal body. If not for his Dragon and Nephilim Physique, his arm right now would have been crushed into a meat paste and probably even severed from his body.

Red Eye; Diamonte turned his head to Allen. “No Bullying!” He simply said.

Allen frowned. “I am not. She’s the one who started it!”

Allen pointed at Ashetarah who was slowly flying back – though her appearance was extremely ragged and messy.

“I’m a respectable gentleman! I know how to love a lady but never knowledgeable in bullying a woman –a proper woman so to speak!” Allen snorted.

“Why you!!” Ashetarah’s eyes glared hatefully at Allen, wishing she could devour him alive.

As she was about to once again attack, Red Eye; Diamonte appeared in front of her and stopped her.

Allen’s eyes widened. So fast! If not for his eye powers, he wouldn’t be able to follow Diamonte’s speed.

It’s not like he had teleported but instead, he simply moves at a very fast speed.

And this startled Allen. Power and Speed –he was top notched!

What kind of monster is he…?

“Interesting,” Allen’s lips curled upward.

“You actually ignored me and started fighting someone else, I’m hurt~” Unbeknownst to Allen, Lilith had already appeared behind him.

Her slender arms wrapped around his shoulders and neck and her cherry red lips gave a sweet red aroma at the side of his ear. Her voice was like a tender, flirting lover.

“Lilith, huh,” Allen wasn’t surprised and still remained indifferent. “Did you join Virgil’s merry friends?”

“Merry friends…huh,” Lilith smiled wryly then she shook her head, “Well, I guess you can say that we’re just helping each other due to similar goals. In fact, I didn’t come here to find you by his orders –I came here to find you myself,” She said while wearing a coquettish smile.

“And for what reason?” Allen raised his eyebrows, “If you said that you want to find me because you love me –Which I can’t believe, then forget it. You don’t need to fool me; I know how you betrayed my other self by telling Virgil where ‘I’ was hiding.” Allen’s voice was cold and indifferent.

Hearing Allen’s words, Lilith wasn’t angry or anything. She just smiled and flashed a smile that seems to be filled with sadness and sorrow. “Do you blame me?”

“… …”

“But I don’t have a choice at that time. I was blinded by my hatred…” Lilith’s arms tightened. “But this time, I won’t. Give me a second chance will you…”

Allen’s eyes narrowed but he didn’t say anything.

At this moment, Allen’s eyes caught Azazel and Sun Wukong’s battle.

They still haven’t finished fighting?

Boom!!

After Azazel’s fist slowly accumulated its strength, all of its energy exploded out, flying towards Sun Wukong. Seeing this, Sun Wukong only smiled and sent out her own fist.

Boom!!

Another explosion occurred.

The power seems to be the same, though Azazel felt his hand gone slightly numb.

What a nonsensical power!

“Fuu——”

It might be called a stalemate, but the fact that it continued was because Sun Wukong devoted herself to defense. And Azazel knew that… and this enraged him greatly!

A demon prince like him was actually being pitied to as if he was being played by his opponent?

A demon prince like him!!?

Azazel opened his endlessly obsidian eyes wide, “Monkey King! Die!!”

His anger manifested and a black spear that seemed to have been made out of pure shadow materializes. Its color was pitch black that seemed to have the capability to suck light itself.

Azazel grabbed the spear and throws it towards Sun Wukong with all his strength.

The spear flew at a high speed like a black bullet.

Less than a second before it reached Sun Wukong’s neck —— the goldenrod reacted just in time to flick away the spear.

Even though the Sun Wukong was amazing to be able to react to the blade flying at a high speed intercepting it while maintaining a posture she can’t use much force in. It wasn’t a feat a human could possibly pull off. Well, she wasn't a human, to begin with...

——In fact, although it was painful to admit it but Azazel knew.

That as he is right now he couldn’t win against the Monkey King.

Rather than to say he was weaker, it was that he couldn’t use his greatest strength due to the seal.

Although Sun Wukong was the same as him but as someone who had lived in this world as a protector, her seal was a bit weaker compared to him.

If he tried to estimate the difference between them, it would be that Sun Wukong can at most used 70% of her real strength while he can only use 50 – 60% his overall power. Besides, originally Sun Wukong was already above him in strength. And so, this difference was extremely disadvantageous!

There was no significant difference between their speeds, which was his greatest weapon.

Thus, Azazel, using that opening made by the black spear, he magically teleported in just behind Sun Wukong.

As if the flow of time was completely different, as if he knew the reaction of the opponent beforehand, Azazel raised his fist that had his full power and launches it towards Sun Wukong’s exposed back.

As his fist was about to hit the Monkey King, a lightning flashed beside him and someone suddenly caught his fist.

Boom!!

A shockwave was generated and both Azazel and the one who blocked his attack were both flying in the opposite direction.

Guh-!? Azazel and the other party both spat out a mouthful of blood.

When Azazel raised his head, he caught sight of a familiar figure looking at him with a wry smile.

“Dante!!” Azazel cried out.

“Stop, Azazel! If you continued your attack, you would have been dead by now!” Allen said with a soft voice.

His right arm, limp and bloody. He felt as if his bones were crushed into powder due to some unknown force that suddenly sucks his arm the moment he grabbed Azazel’s hand.

Crack! Crack! His right arm issued cracking sounds and slowly, it was healing in a speed too magical to believe. In just less than a minute, aside from the torn sleeve, Allen’s arm had completely gone back to normal.

Allen stopped Azazel because he knows that if Azazel had continued in that moment, Sun Wukong's plan would have been completed and Azazel would certainly die or be wounded, gravely.

“Hehehe, Human king, intervening someone’s fight is certainly disrespectful, you know~” Monkey King; Sun Wukong slowly turned around. Her lips curled upwards.

She looks as if the fight just now hadn’t happened.

“Do forgive me, Old Sun but, I actually owe Azazel something before. Thus, I just can’t let you kill him now~” Allen gave Sun Wukong a bitter and apologetic smile.

“Dante!” Azazel snarled furiously. “You owe me nothing!”

“No, Azazel…” Allen flapped his wings, stepping a few meters forward. “I indeed owe you one.”

“… …”

“I know that when the Son of God became the sacrifice of our sin, you too had been the one who had become the scapegoat.” Allen came even closer. “In fact, I was one of the chosen to do the scapegoat rite; the one that had chosen to choose two goats regarding the Day of Atonement. One to be a sacrifice and the other to be the scapegoat.”

Allen sighed. “I only knew later that it was actually the foreshadowing of the coming of the Son of God… someone that would save us from all our sins.”

“In Legend, the Son of God had died and become the sacrifice and the scapegoat – to save humanity, to atone instead of us. However, it was, in fact, you who had shoulder our sins all this time… bearing it all for eternity.”

“What do you know!!?” Azazel growled angrily. Allen's words suddenly agitated Azazel.

His eyes glowed menacingly and his aura exploded in ferocity.

“I was the one who offered knowledge to all humanity and yet – I was punished and deserted!!? What? Was it wrong to free the mortals that father had loved from stupidity and ignorance?” He rage, not only to Allen but also to the heavens for the heavens for the unfairness he had suffered.

Why...!?

He screamed at the top of his lungs.

The once that shouldered all sins that have never been his and yet the one who had suffered because of this.

The one who had become the scapegoat of humanity!

The Fallen Angel; Azazel.
