Chapter 755: [I play hard]

Chapter 755: [I play hard]

“…It's been nearly a century since we last met. Personally… not counting the time you showed up as a ghost. Right, Vergil…? I’m hoping you even missed me during this time…”

Allen said with a warm smile on his face. His tone and expression were as if he was just greeting an old friend, after a long time of separation. Furthermore, there’s no tension or apprehension whatsoever in his expression.

“Believe me, brother… I felt eternity waiting for you here. Time passed so slowly, it’s mortifying,” Vergil grinned in response.

Long, silver leather coat, wrinkled olive-green chinos, and black long steely boots. As usual, his hair fairly long and tangled in places, giving off some kind of prince-like vibes. He looks extremely handsome with a dark-skinned tone. Facial features were perfect, devilish, and somewhat pleasantly horrifying to look at.

“However,”

Allen grinned as he looks around, only to see a near-empty hall.

“Although we have not seen each other after a long time, you sure know how to throw a welcome party, Vergil! No food, no drinks, and the only people are just some wrinkly old men with no babes around. Even the old men are just some nasty ugly goats… pretty disparaging if you ask me. Did you lose your sense of entertainment after staying in this gloomy hole for centuries? How pitiful, I may ask.”

Vergil chuckled in amusement.

“My sincerest apology brother. I was so eager to see you, I couldn't concentrate on preparations for the bash. Mind you, I wanted this to be a bit heartwarming reunion. Just that some people who don’t appreciate cheery events like this love to bash pleasant moods instead. Please do understand their stupidity.”

“I hear that Vergil… do you want me to bash your head instead?”

Mammon snorted unpleasantly.

“Hear that brother… what a very rude person, isn’t he?”

Vergil ignored Mammon’s angry retort and still look at his brother he had never seen for a long, long time.

“Got that right,” Allen replied.

“Now you know my sufferings while staying in this world, with only this fool‘s company,” Vergil shook his head with a helpless smile. “Glad you finally came… I almost went insane in waiting~”

“I hear you, bro… You must have a hard life.”

“Nonsense, Dante…!”

Mammon roared in displeasure. His calm and relaxed expression immediately crumbled after being mocked by the two brothers and his eyes turned into a glare.

“…however, to think you’d come so quickly, you really impressed me, Dante.”

“I think it’s not too late to be surprised, yet, Mammon…” Allen smiled confidently as he started walking towards them, only stopping just below the stairs towards the Throne Chairs. “I still have many, many things I wanted to show you—being surprised by then, wouldn’t be too late, don't you think?”

“Oooh, I love surprises—especially birthday surprises~”

Vergil laughed leisurely as he leaned his back against the Throne Chair.

“…it gives me chills every time I received one,”

Mammon lightly glared at Vergil but he only snorted. Mammon ignored him and stared at Allen as if trying to see through him; “Truly an absurd power. Indeed, a terrifying surprise. I truly underestimated you, Dante. Despite Solomon’s existence already almost been absorbed by Vergil, for you to have such power—what can I say? It’s already a miracle, among every miracle in the world. The harmony of magic and physical power is teeth-clatteringly beautiful that even someone like ‘me’ couldn’t help but feel dazzled.”

Allen frowned at his words.

There is something… what is it…? What is this apprehension? What is this feeling as if something is out of place…?

Allen turned towards Vergil who was still smiling like a silly idiot and his eyes narrowed in suspicion. Feeling the sudden uneasiness, his eyes immediately changed, turning into that of the [God’s Eyes]. But when he did, what saw made his eyes widened in shock.

“So that’s it.”

The enlightenment came from a completely unexpected point.

Allen’s thinking until now was wrong.

This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.

No, at least somewhat off!

“Is it what I think it is…?”

Allen asked, not Mammon but Vergil.

In response, Vergil nodded his head, feeling proud.

“I knew you would notice it…!” then he turned towards Mammon with a gaze of ‘I told you he would easily notice it’ kind of expression at him.

“Lucifer…”

Allen called out with his expression darkening every moment.

‘Mammon’ or should his true name be called; the ‘Morning Star’ the First Angel in Creation and also the First Fallen- Lucifer Morning Star. However, when he was cast out of heaven, he had thrown aside this name and adorned the name Satan- The Demon Emperor inheriting it from the first 'Evil' the 'Seed of Chaos' that goes against God.

As the One True God’s first Angel, second only to Michael, the One True God loved and adore Lucifer and made him his perfect creation. And befitting on that claim, there was nothing ordinary or plain about his appearance. He thought that Mammon had changed his appearance due to the passing of time. But now he knows it was not merely that reason. It's because the interior had been changed, and so the vessel, the physical form had slowly being reformed.

Now, adorned with gold and precious stones, he truly fit the name, 'Son of the Morning.'

Back in the day, he considered was a step above the other angels, not only in appearance but also in intellect. Lucifer's wisdom far exceeded that of other angelic beings. He understood the ways of God even more than any Angels existed.

But Lucifer's splendor and beauty did not last forever.

While ministering, he began to consider his own position of prominence. Lucifer became prideful, believing that he deserved more than what he already had. He wanted to become like the 'Most High'.

Because of his ‘Perfection’, Lucifer loved himself more than anything else. He was a true narcissist. He could not believe that God created him. He thought he had created himself just like God had. And since God did not create him, he had free will. That's what drove him into another course. A path away from what is considered 'right'.

He who had wisdom, beauty, ability, and above all else, perfection beyond any creations in the world, and yet he wanted more; he wanted to be worshiped like God. But God does not share ‘His’ glory, nor does ‘He’ permits another to receive worship. So before Lucifer had a chance to make his move, he was removed from the presence of God.

Cast out of heaven like a bolt of lightning, causing him to fell in the bottom abyss as a punishment. He who had received everything in the name of the One True God fell from grace—

Lucifer was stripped of his beauty, his position, and his rights to heaven.

And since then, he had become; Satan, the Demon Emperor!

His constant attempt ever since has been to oppose the mighty plan of God and become the true ruler of all existence. Even to the point of infiltrating many God Clans to temp them into creating a war on the surface. But in the end, he failed and he was sealed for eternity.

And yet now…

Lucifer, in the body of Mammon, smiled from being called by Allen.

“I knew you would see through it…! You’ve been wise and smart in some strange and unexpected ways…Dante. That's what you embody. The 'eyes' you inherited from Solomon himself.” Lucifer in the body of Mammon smiled.

However, his words only garner even more displeasure from Allen.

“Seriously…?” he snickered.

“Among all people right here, the body you have chosen to reside in was Mammon…?! Hardly compelling, don’t you think so, Lucifer?”

“I’ve made the same comment,” Vergil chuckled.

“If you have given me, your body Vergil… I would have taken it without hesitation.”

Lucifer shot Vergil a glare.

“I’ll pass~”

“But fret not. This blob of flesh is just a temporary dwelling. It’s not something you should worry about. The body I wanted, after all, had come its way to me…” Lucifer smirks.

“It would be a waste to refuse it,”

“Correct me if I’m wrong. But, is he speaking about me, Vergil…?”

“Seems so,”

“Then, I’ll pass as well. Two is already a crowd, one more would be too much.” Allen smirked.

“Do you think you have a choice…?” Lucifer asked, amused.

“Choices…I have so much of those in my hands,”

He spread his arms with a nonchalant expression.

“Haha, that’s funny. However, it’s unfortunate to tell you this, Dante but what you perceived, Choice as you call it is a mistake created by your dreaming pitiful self. Since time immemorial, it has never changed. The choice is but an illusion, created between those with power, and those without. It’s obvious which is which between us two…”

“Really? But I do believe greatly in democracy, your majesty Demon Emperor. Democracy, and most of all I greatly encouraged Equal Rights. So whatever you said, the choice is mine…!” Allen snorted.

“Your era has gone a long time ago, Lucifer! This generation—is ours! So fuck off!”

Allen pointed Cerberus towards Lucifer with a cold expression.

“Old fuckers should act their age and pissed off!”

“Violence, violence… we can settle things in some other way, why violence?” Lucifer shook his head with a faint smile. “As you may know, I’m not particularly good at violence, despite being good at convincing others to do violence for me. So, if possible I want to pass on such a thrilling dance invitation, Dante…”

“Oh, I was actually quite excited about it…”

Vergil grinned as he showed the two-meter tall straight sword in his waist.

“Then, why don’t you have a go, Vergil. At least you can be of use for something,” Lucifer scowled at Vergil.

“That’s quite a tempting proposal. However, if we have a party, I would prefer it if all of us enjoy it, don’t you think so as well, dear brother…?”

Allen’s eyes narrowed, not understanding what Vergil wants. Is he also vigilant towards Lucifer…?

Allen stared at the two, sensing some kind of tension between them.

“A coward,” Lucifer mocked. “However, as known gentlemen, settling things through violence should be the last resort for us, don’t you think so too, Dante?”

“Being a gentleman has its right time and place… which, I deemed not for today. However, if you still want ‘gentle’ from me, then you will be disappointed, I play hard~”

Allen grinned mischievously.

"... ..."

Lucifer's expression fell.

On the other hand, Vergil started laughing loudly.
