Chapter 547: [ The Battle Ends (2) ]
“…Lady Yifei, Elder Chen,”
Allen cupped his fist with a faint smile.
“Young Master Ye is indeed a hero among heroes. Truly, I’m impressed. I couldn’t help but wonder if DAWN was composed of people like you, such a group was hard to believe to still be remaining unknown until now.” Lady Yifei muttered with a wry smile.
“Indeed,” Elder Chen Yutong nodded.
Allen smiled and shrug, “…DAWN doesn’t like interfering with the mundane world. We have our own purpose and that purpose doesn’t coincide with the most group like yours. And besides, remaining anonymous is better than being known—fame and glory are only but fleeting moments. If our goal is not met in the end, everything would be in vain,”
After talking, he nodded at them and started walking towards the corpses, and began looting. Lady Liu Yifei and Elder Chen Yutong, stared at Allen’s back, feeling even more mystified and curious.
What is this goal he was talking about?
They wanted to ask but they know that Allen wouldn’t give them an answer. And it might even just make things between them, awkward. Before they get more information and knowledge about the group and their powers, both people didn’t want to create any kind of conflict or scuffles with this mysterious group; DAWN.
They then watched Allen curiously, as he walked towards every corpse of the monsters and then to the other, flipping them as if looking for something. But there was not anything that could be seen and took note of.
What is he doing? But what’s more mysterious was that some corpses, especially those high-level monsters actually disappeared in thin air the moment he finished looking over it. Of course, these monsters are all of his own kills and for some reason, he didn’t touch he didn’t kill.
After a few minutes of going everything on the battlefield, Allen actually found 21 Items, 6 skill books, and 3 consumable items. The Items and Weapons ranging from rare and Mythic, with eight of them are Mythic and Unique. Though, for Allen, it wasn’t something he would use. However, they were extremely important for ordinary people—
After the ‘Flood’ ends, to Lady Yifei and the other Cultivators disappointment, Allen didn’t plan on staying anymore. Calling the Passing Cloud Sect in which he had some responsibilities to let them pass this Trial with little casualties, they started to leave.
“Wait!” However, Lady Liu Yifei and Chen Yutong wouldn’t let such a thing goes by so easily!
Allen’s powers are indeed above them, and in this forest, having someone to rely on and depend on would surely be the best. The fate of the people within the group would be alleviated if someone like Allen was among them, something to cling to.
Although it would be a bit shameless, Lady Liu Yifei has no choice if she wanted her people to live until the end!
It was such a rare opportunity to meet someone as powerful as him, how can Lady Yifei let him go so easily.
As the saying goes, it is easier to survive while standing behind a powerful man.
This Forest is damn terrifying than what she expected!
It’s as if, it was even worse than the previous years!
After thinking for a moment, Lady Yifei said, "Young Master Ye, we are just about to rest and eat, if you are not in a hurry, why not have drinks with us."
"A Drink?" Allen turned around with a surprised look. Was he actually invited?
Elder Chen Yutong grinned and replies, "Very decent alcohol." he and Lady Yifei walked towards Allen.
However, before they could approach him, a terrifying pressure bore them down, startling them. Thud! the weaker cultivators around them kneeled, while both of them felt shocked, hastily releasing their auras. What?!
When they raised their head, there they saw the winged woman, who was just sitting nonchalantly and watching the battle a while ago, looking down at them.
“Humans, don’t push your luck! Although I don’t care about this idiot, for the sake of my peaceful life, don’t approach him. Thinking of using him, even if I don’t do anything, believe me, you will still die… not by my hands but the hands of those monsters…” Feriat flew down and landed just beside Allen. She snorted and then continued, “… this is not a threat but a piece of advice!”
“Wai, wait! That’s not what I wanted to do, it’s just…!”
“Give it up. This idiot doesn’t have any obligation to be with all of you… and even if he did, I wouldn’t accept it. I will kill you myself if you insist to come!” Feriat grumbled with a very scary expression, terrifying Lady Yifei and the rest. Now, they could only stand aside and step back in fear.
Although they are confident in their powers they are not idiots, they can feel that the winged woman before them is much terrifying than the group of Monster Horde!
“What are you doing?” Allen stared at Feriat with a very complicated gaze.
What is this girl playing now?
She’s too damn defensive, isn’t she?
Did she fall for me? No way! If this girl isn’t a huge masochist, then falling for him despite everything would be impossible!
“Don’t misunderstand,” Feriat glanced at Allen, with a not-so-friendly expression. “I don’t like humans. Now that I am here, I don’t like any humans besides me! That’s all!”
“…but I am a human~”
“… …” Feriat glared at Allen.
Allen chuckled in amusement. “You sure have a great hate for humans, don’t you?”
“Hmph!”
Allen shook his head in helplessness. He was about to leave when he glanced towards the group. With a faint enthusiasm, he muttered; “In any case, it is indeed true that I can’t stay. I still have some things to do, so I apologize but I need to refuse your kind offer.”
“… …”
“The Trial Grounds changed. The monsters now become extremely terrifying… if I were you, I wouldn’t walk around and wander aimlessly like an idiot and instead, stay put and be cautious, if you want to survive. The monster you will encounter from now on can be considered anyone’s nightmare…” Allen smiled faintly. “I don’t advise you to roam around alone. It would be better to move around with this number,”
“…Is, is there really no chance of you staying with us? If it’s the reward we can talk about it…” Lady Liu Yifei bit her lips in unwillingness. She felt somewhat hurt and offended as she looked at Allen, trying to ignore the lioness eyeing her. She asks again, with a solemn and helpless tone.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
In fact, she had also felt this time’s practice ground was strange… after all, apart from most people here, she had also participated in this kind of occasion before—however, she had never met a monster as strong as the ones they had encountered now in the first day! Much less a ‘Flood’ like that…!
Without Allen, surely they would have been wiped out. Even if they managed to survive, just how many of them would survive in the end…? Over ten is already an overstatement.
Usually, those kinds of monsters stayed in the deepest part of the mountains and only weaker monsters wander around in the foot of the mountain—meant to be hunted and trained against with, such as 1st rank and above, and yet just as they entered, they had already encountered monsters above the fifth rank and sixth rank? And most of all, they actually attacked by monsters with the power rivaling that of a Saint Realm…?
Are they just unlucky or this Despair Grieving Mountain Trial this year would be unprecedented!
Although they want to believe at former, with those monsters and feeling the danger, the latter seemed to be more probable!
Just as the teleportation of the trial is random, the difficulty of it was also completely random. This is according to the countless years of study on the Despair Grieving Mountain. Elders of the Sect, especially those who had to undergo the trial before knows that, the trial difficulty is sometimes different from the previous.
There was a time where it was extremely easy, as monsters all were in the first rank and the strongest monster can be found is just the fifth rank—however, the opposite could also be true. The difficulty is many times harder than usual and all the monsters found in the mountain were stronger than even Spirit Realm Experts.
Many theories come up as to why is this, or the Despair Grieving Mountain Trial even was another world of its own with a dependent system and laws—it was far different from a normal Labyrinth with its fixed pattern.
Any Sect in the Continent, no matter how big their population is, it's still impossible for them to occupy absolute advantage within the Despair Grieving Mountain. For instance, one has dozens of Cultivators entering the Despair Grieving Mountain at the same moment; they were still distributed to countless mutually isolated areas. Thus, no matter how many they are, they would still be killed nonetheless, due to their numbers.
Like today, it's already very rare for several of them to be here together.
And so, it was said that in the Despair Grieving Mountain, it’s not numbers that count but… personal power. You can’t rely on others but rely on yourself!
But how many can do that?
With fourth and fifth rank monsters wandering around, those weaker cultivators would surely find themselves in death trap..!
This is also the reason why each Sect avoids sending many of their disciples and only let those that were deemed as unparalleled and above among others. Though the main reason was that, they had realized that the more people enter the Despair Grieving Mountain, the stronger the monsters become!
Indeed, Despair Grieving Mountain is really unpredictable. In worst cases, 9 deaths 1 survive.
Allen knows this as well. He paused for a moment, then, he waved his arm as if grasping the air.
And in an instant, countless weapons, items, armors, and consumable potions such as healing potion and healing salve—Agathi Dorhuck’s creations—startling everyone in the surrounding. It was a pile of Small Mountain; swords, gloves, gauntlets, leg guards, armors, leather clothes, and such.
Staring at the pile of equipment and weapons, including Lady Yifei and Chen Yutong, all the people in the vicinity stood aghast, staring at it with fervent gazes.
“…this is a small token from me. These are all not ordinary items, although most of them are not that strong and powerful, however, it could be said that all of them are magical items—you can choose on how to distribute it among yourselves.” Allen smiled faintly.
These are all Magic Items…?!
Another bombshell exploded within the people’s minds.
Magical Items, those are known as artifacts!
Looking at this small hill of items, most people started to drool in excitement. Personal Power is a must but, so are weapons and items one possesses! They can double one’s chance of survival in a battle and can even raise one’s strength.
Lady Liu Yifei looks at the items and her adorable mouth slightly open. She looked at Allen, her mouth flapping open and close. So was Chen Yutong. This sudden downfall of wealth was true …unexpected…! And this many…?
Although it was incomparable to an entire Sect treasury but… it was, after all, an entire Sect!
Individual aspect, having three or four of this is already pretty good…!
Allen didn’t really care about these items. When one examines closely, these items were ranging from [ Normal ] to [ Rare ] class items only. There was no [ Mythic ] or [ Unique ] at all. Allen’s sense of duty and kindness doesn’t reach that far to give strangers valuable items pretty easily. Even if he had hundreds and thousands of such high-level items and giving some would never be a problem, but Allen was not that good f a man. It was already enough that he gave out these items, which was actually pretty valuable even for most cultivators…!
Most of the items were what Allen got from this dungeon. [ Common ] and [ Rare ] in which for him was not really useful, even if he gave them to the DAWN members, it would useless. What he was giving out to them was at least, [ Superior-Rare ], which was ten times valuable than normal [ Rare ] items. Not giving all the [ Common ] items he had would only be a waste of space~
Obviously, among them were Items personally created or used by Allen through his training and experimenting, so one can say some of them were pretty good.
Giving it to them would be the best.
Although Allen was giving it away as if they were just some second-hand bargain goods, the moment the people saw them, they couldn't help but swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Their mouths started drooling as they could no longer know how to react.
"What is this?" Lady Liu Yifei and Chen Yutong were both stunned.
Of course, it's magical equipment and artifacts, stupid! They retorted in their minds.
Of course, they know what it is but it's just that they wanted Allen to confirm it himself.
Allen chuckled in amusement seeing their reactions and said with a cheerful tone, “Those were some items in my possessions. I hope it can be useful to all of you.”
"This... this..." Lady Liu Yifei and Chen Yutong, and the other people presents—all of them stared at Allen in shock. They then simultaneously stared at the pile of items. They didn't know what to say.
These artifacts, these things are still very valuable. Something even the Elders of a large Sect would covet!
Lady Liu Yifei was too stunned to respond as she only stared at Allen as if trying to assess what kind of human was he.
Is the DAWN such a wealthy organization? Isn't that too unbelievable?
He was just tossing this amount of wealth as if they were just pocket change and all those high-class items, Lady Yifei guess that Allen still has a lot more of this items if not how can he just give this to them?
This man who looks worry-free and has 'my pace' written in every part of his body was really too abnormal. In fact, that man called Pain as well as of the same caliber, both make others feel mysterious and deep as abyss the moment they laid their eyes on them!
Lady Liu Yifei realized that although she was very adept at assessing a man's worth due to her experience, she couldn't even see through this youth. Interesting, how many more secrets are you hiding exactly?
This time, Lady Liu Yifei’s eyes were filled with humor. She seemed to have come to a decision…
Contrary to Lady Liu Yifei’s sudden interest, Elder Chen Yutong was looking at this incomprehensible youth with wide eyes. He really had no idea as to what he should say. In reality, as an Elder, he wasn't really that poor, so money or artifacts for him was just a common commodity. He possesses quite an amount of them. But to be able to have this amount and was even nonchalantly giving it off, he just couldn’t do that…!
Artifacts are very valuable as they are rare, you know…!
Normal Cultivators hardly able to have them.
This DAWN organization…just how deep was it…?
“Well, that’s that…” Allen nodded his head. He cupped his fist at them and says, “Well, Yifei Jie, I’m hoping for a good reply coming from you.” Then, he looked towards the others, “As for all of you, if you managed to survive and we met again if fate wills it… probably, I might invite you to join our small DAWN… I am in need of talented people, but please do not forget, not all talented, I will accept. You are all good and exceptional warriors, but forge yourself even more,” he grinned, his eyes flashing with a meaningful smile.
“People with honor and pride are something even greater than a great and powerful warrior with no morals…!”
Allen added before waving his hand at Lady Liu Yifei and the others, “…If you choose to follow at that time, I assure you, the benefits you will receive will be much greater than this… of course, when the time comes, I don’t need you to leave your sect. You can still choose to stay with them, only if push comes to shove, the DAWN should be prioritized above all. That is the only the requirement of joining us…” Allen let out a harmless, toothy grin.
He then finished talking and together with Feriat and the others including the Passing Cloud Disciples, they turned around, walked towards the forest and disappeared before the group of Cultivators.
Allen’s might and powers sincerely impacted everyone around, including the rest. Elder Chen Yutong was staring blankly at Allen’s back, his mouth was still gaping wide and yet not a word was uttered. Similarly, Lady Yifei was staring dazedly at their backs; her eyes were fixed on the back of them as her teeth bit down hard on her lower lips.
Her eyes had a distant gaze to them as if she was deep in thought over something important.
