Chapter 569: [ Reunion ]

Chapter 569: [ Reunion ]

Ruinos Castle was Allen’s magical treasure and personal castle, and while it was small, it was well defended because it was surrounded by a deep moat and tall ramparts.

There was a long and large river flowing from the top of the mountain through the castle and the valley in the vicinity, giving the feel of nature.

In this ancient-like but luxurious Palace at the foot of the mountain, there was a garden where many flowers bloomed in the small hills, decorated by cleverly carved fountains. It was a piece of artwork with crystalline beauty, a garden nonexistent in manmade areas.

It was a symbol of the mountain’s natural prosperity.

There was a rampart surrounding the area, so ordinary monsters could not make it so far into the Castle. There were several spires protruding from the castle that, like the outer walls, were painted in a brilliant white and black. Surrounded by tall sharp thorn vines that acted as a second castle wall that attacks those who trespassed without permission--the castle looked like those of the Medieval European Era.

With at least three stories and additional structures towering above those—the castle was shrouded in an unnatural mist—adding a pretty cool vibe to the whole place. Though people with excellent perception for mana would surely notice it—it’s not mist but dense magical energy!

The magical energy in the air was just too dense that it had crystallized, forming into mist-like substance.

That was fine.

The problem lied elsewhere…

“This is… how is this possible…? We just left for several weeks…!”

Liu Wentian exclaimed in shock as he saw the changes of the Ruinos Castle.

Weapons such as Swords, Halberd, Knives and daggers, Blunt staves, Spears, Polearms with axe-like blades, Polearms with spikes and hammers, Spears and javelins and many more—the surrounding of the Ruinos Castle within the Thorn Vines were littered with dozens of swords and weapons anchored in the ground like grave markers, yet are well preserved.

There were also graves such as cross graves and the likes. It had become quite a domineering ad terrifying grave-themed castle. In addition, there were large golems standing aimlessly at each side of the large gate. Whether they are still alive or not was unclear.

Fortunately, it was still daylight and the beautiful garden and forest lessen the gloomy impression the castle gives off but if someone sees this in midnight—surely, they would faint from fear and think of a dark castle with Vlad Dracula residing within.

“An another classic but hard to understand sense of style…”

“Is this a graveyard…?”

“Well, it has its feel to it…”

“Ha ha ha, that’s my damn husband for you! This has the ‘I’m the Dark King so fear me heathens' kind of feeling to it, Ha hahaha,” Celty laughed while clutching her stomach. She laughed so loud she started kneeling in the ground. But her eyes started to turn moist, excitement, hope, and love was obvious to all those who had look at her.

“Hm? Wait,”

Suddenly Alkrasha narrowed her eyes.

Her sudden change attracts the other’s attention.

“What is it?”

“Hey, wait! Stop!”

“That’s dangerous!!”

But Alkrasha didn’t respond and instead bolted towards the nearest gate. However, when she was about to approach the open gate, the thorn vines suddenly move and shot a sharp vine towards Alkrasha.

“Alkrasha!!”

“Sister Alkrasha!!”

Layla and the others called out anxiously as they rushed towards Alkrasha, wanting to save her.

Alkrasha frowned as she saw the thorn vines and as she was about to defend herself, “CEASED!!!” A loud voice echoed in the forest.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

“Hm?!”

“This voice!”

Layla’s group that was rushing towards Alkrasha immediately stopped.

Their eyes widened in shock as they look at the person standing at the rampart.

The person’s appearance made the thorn vines immediately withdraw and Alkrasha stood there with a faint smile.

Plop!

The person leaped and descended into the ground, her eyes wide in shock as if she had seen a ghost in broad daylight.

“Mi, mistress…?!”

“Laura…”

Layla’s lips arched into a beautiful smile and tears flooded from her eyes. He’s here… he’s really here…!! If Laura is here, then there's no mistake! The last bit of fear immediately vanished from her heart as she shed tears of joy and happiness!

Over a year, I’ve been at a loss, desolation, and sadness overwhelm me… but now…

Allen, I can finally see him again…! I can finally see my dear brother again!

Layla felt breaking down and cry, wail and weep. She wanted to rush, find Allen and embraced him—all the days, months and year that she couldn’t see him, she wanted to relay it on him how much she had suffered!

Laura immediately kneeled down on one knee.

“Mistress, I, I don’t know what to say… for, for you to be here… master would surely be glad!!”

“Hm… it has been a while, Laura…” Layla muttered, tears falling one by one on her beautiful face as she walked towards her.

She pulled Laura up and embraced her, so tightly Laura find it hard to breathe.

“Mis, tress…?”

“Uuh, Laura… I finally find you! Allen’s here, right? He’s here… right?”

Layla’s joyful tears seemed to have contained the contagious virus as it spread throughout the area, causing others to cry as well. Alkrasha, Liu Muxiao, Celty, and Xue Ling—all of them walked towards Laura and hugged her.

Laura as well bit her lips and cried.

“Don’t cry…” Layla said with a faint smile. She reached her hand and wiped the tears off her face, “Where is he…? Where’s Allen…?”

“Master, he’s…” Laura smiled bitterly. “He’s not here…”

“What?!” Layla’s body trembled.

“Mistress, a few days ago, Master said that he had felt some familiar and nostalgic aura and went out…rushing...”

“Familiar aura?” Laura tilted her head.

“Well, since you are really here… then, you should be the one Master felt since he was so happy and shock at the same time, he left without proper warning. I see that you passed each other…?”

“Well…” Layla and Alkrasha stared at each other, shock and bitterness flashing across their eyes. They had been here for so many days but, they still haven’t met him…

Just where did that idiot go again…?

“…Did something happen to him…?” Celty asked worriedly. “With husband’s abilities, missing us would surely be impossible…”

“Now that you mention it…” Layla frowned. That should be impossible indeed. Then, did something happened? “…Can you track him down, Laura?”

Laura frowned for a bit but she shook her head. “This Dimension runs in a very complicated energy cycle that is hard to grasp. I seemed to have a hard time grasping the correct timing… Unlike Master’s magic perception, I could only be passed as so-so, so I had a hard time adjusting. Thus, the connection between me and master is a bit erratic and swaying.”

“I know what you mean…” Li Tian nodded as she heard Laura’s explanation. “We also feel similar.” They feel he was here but the connection was erratic. Swaying up and down, left and right, seemingly vague. To understand better, this dimension is like Grandline in One Piece--if there is no proper equipment like a Log Pose, then their compass would surely not work and would only make them lose each other.

It truly is a strange dimension!

“We know that Master is near but to pinpoint the exact location is a bit troublesome and almost nigh impossible…” Li Lian added.

“Can you track him down using the terminal, instead…?” Liu Muxiao suggested.

“That’s a bit hard… but I can try…” Laura nodded with a smile. “Normally, Little Beibei controls the entire system according to master’s desire and she’s always with the master. But, the master had made a little backup computer to control the system somewhat—contacting Little Beibei, using that should be possible…at the very least,”

“Excellent! What are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Alkrasha spoke up cheerily and then started walking towards the Castle’s large door.

“Alright!”

“But Laura, what’s with this cringe design…?” Liu Muxiao asked with a wry smile as she looks around the Castle’s surrounding.

Sword and various weapons lying around like grave marks.

“Ha ha ha,” Laura shyly giggled. “Well, actually, Master had experimented in making powerful weapons and items to kill time—most of it is put in the Dawn’s Archives to be exchanged into points for the members. However, the master suddenly realized—the ratio of exchange between weapons and skills was unbalance and that the members prefer exchanging abilities compared to weapons.”

“… …”
