Chapter 396: [ Monster Attack ]
Allen let out a long sigh. He felt a spacious and empty void around him.
The sky had also become increasingly silent. At this moment, he could only hear was the sound of the passing breeze.
He had cultivated all night and now, the sun was starting to rise again, giving bright colors to all living things.
Allen let out a very long breath as he put his hands behind his back, and looked up at the heavens. The black coat hugging his entire body swayed due to the wind.
He didn’t move but his clothes swayed magnificently in the wind…
He stared at a white cloud for a long time. Then, Allen suddenly smiled bitterly and shook his head. And then, he remained standing in a calm and quiet manner — only to find that the thoughts in his mind had become ordered, clear and bright.
There was no change in his magic power but for some reason, ever since he had leveled up into a Pseudo Mid God, his perception of the world had somewhat increased. And with this increase, it’s as if the world had become a different reality for him… though he still was unable to understand clearly as to how or why…
All he knows was that everything seems to have a life.
The wind, the sand, the leaves, the tree, the buildings, the rocks… everything seemed to be breathing in life.
They were each a part of the world… part of its existence.
This realization suddenly caused Allen to distinctly felt his spiritual strength increase by a huge margin. However, he still wasn’t able to break through his bottleneck.
It seemed that there was a faint and thin layer of mist in front of his eyes.
This layer of mist separated him from the next level. It was unclear and hazy.
As Allen was immersing himself into this feeling, suddenly, something caught on his ears. Sounds… strange sounds…
What is it…?
Allen turned his head and looked towards the direction of that sound but all he saw was an expanse of the desert, nothing else. What was that?
Suddenly, he started to look a bit startled. His expression changed a bit, but it soon became normal again.
This feeling…
Allen narrowed his eyes and focused. He thought that... I know this smell… that’s right. It was none other than… the smell of war!
The wind was even screaming as if starting a festival.
A war is brewing…
But where? Allen was standing with his hands behind his back as he wondered. it wasn’t just his imagination but intuition. That’s right, it’s as if the world was giving him a warning…
Perception of the World -this was the Mid God's privilege and unique ability -though if one classified it properly. It was neither an ability or a skill but just an acception by the world.
Mid Gods are beings that were already one step closer to being High Gods. And in this realm, they started to feel like real Gods.
One can even say, this was the omniscience of God.
Just then — Allen heard the sound of urgent footsteps. Suddenly, an alarmed voice rang-out, "Sol!!!"
Allen turned around and saw Eerika energetically jumping from roofs to roofs, rushing towards him. Her face shows extreme panic and seemed unsettled.
Seeing this alone, Allen knows something did happen…
“Sol! Demons and Monsters are rushing towards this city. News of it was just received by the Aryan Clan Elder and he immediately issued a joint summon to everyone within the City.”
“Things really that serious…?”
Eerika nodded. “The attacking monsters were already a hundred kilometers away. They might arrive here within two to three days at most…”
Allen frowns. His frown was very profound.
He then turned his gaze towards the direction he had been looking to a while ago. Although invisible by naked, however, with his Godly vision, by narrowing his gaze, he indeed can see dark clouds seemed to have been gathering in that direction.
So this was the war he had been feeling…

“I see…”
“What are you going to do?” Eerika hesitated for a moment before she asked. Her expression strange.
Her voice was quite clear and melodious. It even had a trace of gentleness to it. She blinked her eyes. In fact, she had sounded naïve and inquisitive as she had asked that question.
Allen chuckled. “Do I have any choice?”
“But what about the curse?” Eerika asked. The curse she was talking about was obviously referring to the Death Mask’s Magic Power and Life Force Absorption. Because Allen didn’t know how to explain his ill body when Eerika asked about it, he lied saying he was struck by one of the Mummy Lord's curses cast upon its death.
Eerika had always known about Allen’s Godly Self Recovery and yet for some reason, Allen’s body was always weak and frail and even his magic power was scattered like beads from a broken string. Thus, even if Eerika wouldn't like to suspect anything would still doubt something was wrong.
Because of this, Allen has no choice but answer it, saying it was a curse.
A terrifying curse by the Mummy Lord the moment he had defeated it.
He said this like this because even if it was Eerika, he just can’t tell her honestly about his subjugation of the Mummy Lord or else another doubt and suspicions would spring up. Well, this wasn’t a complete lie either.
He was indeed currently suffering from the curse-like ability by the Death Mask, draining his life force and magical power.
“I’m fine. I can still use a bit of my mana and besides, it’s not like I’m extremely self –reliant on magic power alone. I still have some means to protect myself.” Allen smiled brightly and his eyebrows shot up.
“Really?”
Allen’s gaze softened. He nodded and then didn’t say anything anymore and just turned around and started walking towards the City gate. On his side was Eerika closely following him.
It seems like… a festival is going to happen…
The expression in Allen’s eyes looked unpredictable but revealed a faint yet fiercely ominous glint.
It has been so long...

Inside the Balder Family main house of the famous Norse Clan, Elena Balder was reading the intelligence report.
Finally, she slowly placed it down and sighed, “Didn’t expect he would be able to kill Beelzebub and even chased away Mastema. This little fellow was actually this strong. And now, he had shown up in the Chaos desert… Haa~ what a surprising timing… this time my daughter went to the Aryan Clan to for the Auction. Should I have gone after all…?”
“Then, what should we do master?” An old woman standing by the side of Elena politely asked.
“… Well, let nature takes its course for now. In any case, Eerika trusts him wholeheartedly and I also had made that ‘gamble’ … most of all, it seems the High God Athena also had some not-so-little relationship with that fellow. I guess we can at least trust him for now…” Elena shook her hand to signal her to not worry.
Eerika deciding to go there this time -was this fate?
After speaking, Elena turned her head and looked through the window.
It was quite peaceful and quiet, though, for some reason, Elena felt as if this was the calm before the storm. She couldn’t help but sigh bitterly at her not so good premonition; “… Please don’t let down her trust, Demon Prince…”

Due to the news of the Demons and Monsters attack spreading in the entire city, all the people were starting to be filled with unease and panic. Even the usually buzzing and cheerful street had turned desolate.
Looking at this scene, Allen somewhat recalled the experience he had in the previous timeline.
Even if it was an unreliable small rumor of a Demon attack, people would certainly scurry to escape. The usual lively city would instantly turn into a ghost city in just a few hours.
Recalling that scene, something within Allen started to boil. In fact, ever since he had that little skirmish against ‘Allen’ he had felt that something within him has apparently changed.
At first, he had always remained calm and indifferent no matter what kind of situation he was in, not because he wanted to but because he had no choice but to.
If his emotions such as anger, excitement, or bloodthirst surge to a certain level, he had feared that ‘Allen’ would find this chance to revolt and break free from its shackles.
But now, when that prodigal brother had apparently broken free with the use of the [ Frostmourne ] and disappeared within him, Allen felt something heavy that was weighing his shoulders down all this time had finally disappeared.
His emotions started to get unstable at times, as if out of control.
The suppressed feelings of thirst and hunger for battle had slowly gushed out from its containment. And unlike from before, the realization of an upcoming war had evidently made his newly awakened blood, boil in utter excitement!
That’s right!
The emotions that he was suppressing had finally burst out.
War! That was his daily life in the previous timeline. However, in this life, he was a bit tamed compared from before because he had quite a smooth sailing in his journey up until now.
He had acquired powers and allies much greater compared to the previous timeline. But now the smell of war was exciting his nerves.
His killing aura unconsciously leaked from within him, like a beast that had finally been freed.
Eerika had forgotten about walking. She was originally following Allen but now, she just foolishly stared at the image of that person in front of her.
What is this…?
This murderous aura… it was the first time she had felt it from Allen.
Her body couldn’t help but froze on track as an inexplicable killing intent locked not only to the surrounding but also to her as well. That towering killing intent was bone-chilling cold, as filling the entire place, waiting to explode!
Eerika didn’t know what was happening with Allen. She didn’t know why things had suddenly become such. However, she had a keenly sensed that Allen was excited… no, brimming with energy that was about to erupt.
However, the thing that greatly surprised her was that when she turned her head to look at Allen. She was suddenly mesmerized and looked at his eyes with great astonishment, instantly forgetting to ask Allen what was going on.
Allen’s eyes at this very moment were suddenly incredibly clear, like the brightest star in the vast heavens. They were alluring and deep, giving others a feeling of impenetrable mysteriousness at the same wickedness.
"Hm?" Allen seemed to distinctly feel a pair of eyes foolishly staring at his back. He couldn’t help but to stop walking and turned around when he saw Eerika’s lovesick expression.
Smiling mischievously, he walked over to pinch her face, asking with some confusion. “What’s wrong?”
“No, nothing much. Just that your aura seems different from before, and even your presence seems to have undergone some changes.” Eerika brushed away Allen’s playful hand a bit bashfully.
“Well, I guess I’ve matured a bit~” Allen grins. He turned around and walked away while humming.
Eerika frowned. Her gaze was extremely complicated and she could only follow Allen’s back with her eyes. After a moment of despondent, she sighed and chased after him.
Well, what whatever happens, happens...
