Chapter 647: [Magma Tyrannous]
A claw attack flew in!
Dakna moved her hand with a twist and a snap!
A Magma Drake rolled on the sea of magma crying in pain!
Right after, the afterimages of two long brisk tails whistled past, one in the front of Dakna, the other behind her!
And yet still, she did not look back. She raised a hand to grab the tail attacking from in front. With a flick of her wrist, the tail Magma Drake in front of her shook violently and with a snapping sound, Dakna broke all of its tail bones and pulled it despite its agonizing cries and slammed the monster behind herself, straight into the face of the other Magma Drake standing behind her. That monster was also sent flying, with a bloody body from the stabbing spikes of the other Magma Drake, it echoed another painful cry.
While advancing steadily, Allen and Dakna trampled on the monsters that blocked their way with absolute force. Even without using magic, just relying on their physical strength, it's already enough to mow down any monsters in this area.
Slowing down, Allen glanced at the swiftly escaping monsters while numerous thoughts flashed through his heart. He involuntarily inhaled a gentle breath of air. This time around, he seemed to have been a little rash. Even if it was him, if he was not careful in this kind of dangerous place, it was likely that he would meet the miserable fate of death. Worst, his companion would be implicated.
However, this time he has no choice.
Whatever is deep down there, something is calling him, or at least the Firebird.
Allen raised his head. All that entered his eyes was a crimson-red color. This kind of feeling, where everything around him was the same, would have likely caused anyone to lose their sense of direction a long time ago, even someone like him was not an exception. This was just how terrible this place was. And because of his impeded vision, he couldn’t see anything past through the Sea of Magma, unlike he was in a real ocean.
There are not any warnings that monsters would pop out all of a sudden in front of you, ready to take a bite out of your head.
Although, similar to Dakna with Fia, the Firebird’s shared ability he can see things at most within five-meter range but that was not enough as monsters here are more than that of Emperor rank monsters. They are extremely powerful than any monsters out there. In fact, if not for his additional perception he was relying upon all this time, they would have fallen in quite a predicament a long time ago.
However, even with his perception, he could at most perceive till twenty to twenty-five meters from his location, which is quite tough. This is also the reason why Allen felt somewhat rash in diving here without doing any thinking first.
“Ugh…” A soft sigh was emitted as a faint thread of blame surged from deep within his heart. Something unknown was the most frightening. Faced with this endless magma world, even Allen who was already 2nd rank Mid God and was among the top tiers in the entire Celestial World, he should have known by now that being careless and arrogant would still make him run out of his money when the time comes.
Being complacent is a sin that even the strongest in the world couldn’t do…or else he would end up dying in one wrong step.
Suddenly, Allen felt a tug inside of him. His heart became increasingly cautious as his eyes carefully weighed his surroundings.
This place remained a bright-red world. It did not appear to be the end of the magma sea. This was because there was still dark-red magma under his feet. If one were to look carefully, one would faintly see a dark blackness within it that caused one to be afraid. It would never allow anyone to know just what thing existed at the end of it. However, Allen wasn’t one to be afraid anyway, after all, he had seen and experienced far more than anyone in this world.
To him, the unknown is not something meant to be feared…but explored…!
—Only when you did would one advance from where you are standing…
Allen’s swept his gaze around and some doubt was involuntarily revealed within his eyes. Not the slightest bit of unusualness was present in this place. Could it be the unknown feeling was emitted from this place?
“…I also think as well, though I still can’t understand what it really is,” Fia also voiced out her doubt. “It’s not about summoning though, it’s about being called…”
“Called?”
“Yeah, not for me but for the flames around…probably. After all, I am one birth from flames, much like the Clan of the Phoenix. When it comes to flames, I am quite sensitive…”
“… …”
While Allen was in doubt, a cluster of flame floated slowly around him. After which, a faint fiery glow scattered down from it. This fire glow was like a lamppost that shone on the magma not far away. This was not a regular flame but a part of Fia’s fire essence and so, the thick magma sea seemed to have thinned down the moment the light from these flames shone down. It felt as if you are looking down a spying glass that can see through walls.
Immediately, a strange scene appeared.
One could only see that the magma was actually wiggling. After which, a transparent light circle that emitted a faint glow surfaced from the magma swirl. This sudden change had caused the fire energy within Allen’s body to be maneuvered on top of causing him to be surprised. He had already decided that he would immediately turn around and drag Dakna out if any sudden change occurred.
…Damn it, what is with this Dungeon…?! Why is even the scope of my [ Danger Sense ] so narrow…? Does this Dungeon want every player dead? Allen couldn’t help but smile bitterly upon the sadistic character of teh dungeon. I can use my perception but it’s limited. And without my [ Danger Sense ], I would look like a blind cat...!
This Dungeon is limiting many things for surviving too much as if it wants to push all the players to the brink of death!
Fighting in this kind of circumstance would only invite trouble as you would be subjected to many handicaps. You might win but the casualties might turn out severe. Someone like Allen, who values comrades and families more than any treasure or power in the world, cannot just prioritize victory over casualties. It’s not worth it.
Besides, a person or creature who was able to create such a mysterious scene within the magma was definitely not someone whom he could contend with. Fleeing was the most rational choice.
“Master?” How could Dakna not understand what goes on Allen’s mind the moment she saw his expression? She had been with him for so many years so of course, she would be able to understand him at one glance. Seeing his resolve expression, full of worry and concern, surely it was about her.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Dakna was sure that even if this place was extremely dangerous, judging from Allen’s character, he would plunge in without a care. However, to wear that kind of expression in this adventure-filled-smell place, her beloved Master was thinking of leaving without hesitation the moment he would notice anything bad…all because of her. Although she was happy about this kind of concern from her master but this also stabs her heart with an ache like it was being crumpled.
Gritting her teeth, Dakna grabs Allen’s hands and squeezed it tightly. This was the very first time she had taken the initiative to grasped his hand.
Allen, startled, he turned towards Dakna. Upon seeing her expression, Allen couldn’t help but smile wryly for him being a coward. He shook his head and hugged Dakna, shocking the latter. Stroking her back gently, Allen placed a kiss on her forehead before letting go. Thank You!
Dakna’s face was flushed, much redder than the sea of magma but inside her heart, she was filled with satisfaction and mind-numbing happiness. This bit of intimacy is enough for her to make her unable to sleep for a couple of days.
Feeling Dakna’s resolve, as her master, it is unbefitting for him to think too much and run away from little danger. She is a Dragon, a True Dragon so being babied by others, especially her master would certainly cause her heartache and disappointment. He can’t do that! He could never do that!!
Calming down, Allen’s gaze studied the scene below as though he was facing a great enemy. Fia’s Flame Essence had completely lighted the way in front of them within the magma. His gaze had also swept over it at the first opportunity. Due to the light circle of Fia’s flame essences being transparent, the thick and dense magma did not hinder his gaze anymore. However, when his gaze swept over, it immediately caused Cian to be stunned. His eyes were filled with shock and disbelief.
This was because unlike the way up until now, this place was completely void of any life— there are even no small fishes coming within several ranges. But it was not completely out of anything either because, under them, who seemed to have already reached seafloor, was a long body that had long been turned into a skeleton.
The size of the skeleton was massive. Probably, due to it always being surrounded by magma or some other reason but the bones were completely white and emitted a faint glow.
However, the thing that caused Allen to be shocked was not the bones but a ball of flame that was floating within the cage that seemed to be a large rib cage of a massive monster. The flame was transparent, appearing much like an invisible item.
One to two fire seedlings would occasionally leap out. The surrounding magma seemed to be extremely afraid of it. Once the fire seedling expanded and shrank, a circular whiteness formed around the bones. Other people might feel that this thing was somewhat foreign, but Allen was unusually familiar with it. Much less, with Fia within him.
“It’s a Fire Seed…!” Fia’s excited voice echoed within his mind like a gong.
Indeed, it’s a fire seed. Allen was familiar with it because he had seen Ice Queen’s Ice Seed which had saved his life before. And this thing is emitting some kind of similar aura and pressure.
Fire Seed. This is also what Fia wanted him to find—the end of his bargain and now he actually just found it, which was surprising even for him. To find it here was really unexpected!
“I want it! Allen! I want it!!” Fia’s voice echoed inside his mind, going crazy.
Allen can’t help but smile wryly. “I know, I know…” he said. “Since we find it now, it should be said that half of our deal was already completed…”
“… …” On these words, Fia suddenly fell silent, her excitement seemingly died down. After a while, “I know…” she answered.
Allen smiled faintly. “I won’t go back on my words… this fire seed is yours,”
“Of course…”
Allen shook his head. He slowly descended, when at this moment, his mind involuntarily felt giddy. Goosebumps on his body stood on end as… a hot wind was shooting toward him in a strange manner!
An attack…?!
Someone’s there!
… …
The magma sea trembled and shook. And under Allen’s heavy and dark expression a massive thing came out from the ground shooting towards them. Allen immediately grabbed Dakna away and dodged the thing attacking them in a hurried manner.
Using this opportunity, Allen took a closer look at it only to find white-bleached bones. His eyes widened in shock. A massive bone hand came out from the ground attack them!
Then, his shock turned into a frown. This bone—although he had expected that he wouldn’t be able to obtain the fire seed that easily but for that massive skeleton to be the one protecting it…
Damn Sneaky Bastard! Allen grabbed Dakna and shot towards the surface in an instant. Fighting something this large and massive deep within the Sea of Magma would be problematic. Ignoring the panicking monsters and the shaking ocean of magma, Allen grit his teeth and his power burst out, surging upwards.
The bone hand tried to grasp him again but he easily avoided it but flying sideways.
Boooom!!
The surface of the ocean exploded as Allen and Dakna burst out from the Magma Sea. On their tails was the huge bony hand.
“Tsk—!!” Allen clicked his tongue.
He then opened his mouth and a Dragon’s breathe was shot towards the incoming bone hand.
BOOOM!! A deafening explosion echoed within the Sea of Magma and the bone hand immediately withdraws within deep Sea of Magma.
ROOOOOAAAARRR!! A loud roar shook the entire sea as a massive humanoid Skeleton that was covered in red lava appeared from the Magma Sea. The gigantic Skeleton looked in their direction with furious eyes. Although its intelligence was low, it knew that they were the ones that tried to steal its treasure.
After confirming that they were the culprits, the Skeleton kept making its way up from the Magma Sea while roaring angrily at Allen and Dakna.
Looking at the giant skeleton rushing towards them, the ashes and the pungent sulphuric stench wafted on their noses and was completely unbearable. Holding her nausea in, Dakna who was standing beside Allen glared at the massive skeleton frowning.
Woooosh. The large bone hands rise up in the air and made a slamming motion towards their direction. Both of their bodies flickered and they disappeared. Then, the hand slammed against the surface of the Magma Sea creating an explosion that sent magma and flames scattering in the air.
Despite its size, it was quite fast… Allen frowned. His hands turned into Dragon’s Claw blazing in flames and Slashed! Five crimson marks appeared in the air as if space itself was torn by a claw—five arcs of a crimson light shot towards the skeleton but it only struck the bone without doing any damage.
So hard…!
The Giant Skeleton’s defense was perverse even in Allen’s standards!
“RooooooaaaaaaarrrrRRR—!!”
Above the Skeleton’s skull, Dakna in her complete Dragon Form could barely compare with the Giant Skeleton’s size. A ball of fire gathered in her mouth and in an instant, she fired it from a very short distance. It was a Fire Breath but it looks more like plasma as it shoots towards the Skeleton’s skull.
Undead Skeleton’s weakness is always their skull. Once you broke it, the Skeleton monster would die.
A massive explosion that shook the entire Dungeon occurred when the breath landed on the monster’s body. Even the Sea of Magma cave in almost ten meters deep due to the shockwave.
However, Allen’s pupil narrowed into a slit. A flame-like barrier was covering the Giant Skeleton, completely blocking the Dragon’s Breath from reaching the Monster.
“It’s the Fire Seed!” Fia’s voice rang out inside Allen’s mind. “The monster is using the power of the Fire Seed! In this kind of world, it’s almost invincible! This is bad…” worry and anxiety covered her voice.
If not for the Elemental Ban, With Allen’s full power, this kind of monster would still be nothing. However, now that he can only use his physical power and body that was 2nd Grade Mid God level combined with his flame abilities, he is still being completely outclassed by the monster.
If only even his Domain could be used here. Allen grits his teeth in anger as to how sadistic this Dungeon was—even his Lighting Body was not working properly.
As Allen was thinking on how to proceed on this battle, the exchange happening between the giant skeleton and Dakna had once again changed and turned tides as the Dragon Breath which was attacking the giant skeleton monster seemed to have been reflected and the Dragon Breathe was instead flying towards the startled Dakna.
This scene also shocks Allen and his figure immediately flickered and disappeared.
Dakna immediately curled herself into a ball, being covered with her wings to brace herself for the impact but Allen suddenly appeared in front of her. With his fist burning in flames, Allen roared loudly and punched the reflected breath.
BOOOOM!!
Amidst the smoke, Allen narrowed his eyes and look at the Giant Skeleton in front of him. This is a tough one… for it to have the power to reflect Dakna’s full-powered breath, this monster far stronger than he imagined, “—Are you okay, Dakna?”
Allen asked while caressing Dakna’s Dragon Head.
Dakna felt sweet and rub her cheek at Allen’s hands, “I’m alright, master…”
“Don’t be careless and impatient. This monster is far stronger than the monsters in this layer—”
