Chapter 234: [ Home to return to ]

Although Grace didn’t like how they’re so devoted and dependent on him, but a part of her hope that Allen can give these poor girls a new reason to live for their selves – To ease the darkness within their hearts caused by so much misfortune and make them happy.

Although judging by Allen’s character which she had seen already, leaving them on him would certainly be a huge problem in of itself - well, in any case, she doesn’t have any good choice or options…

“Young Master, please have this,” As Allen and Grace were chatting happily while Riza continued to take care of the children, preventing from disturbing the two’s conversation, suddenly a voice called out to Allen behind him.

Turning her head, Allen saw Laura was wearing a faint smile as she brought those wet towels and coffee as well as some toasted bread.

Sparkling blond hair, long eyelashes, thin eyebrows and a long straight nose. She wasn’t as beautiful as Mia but she had her own charm.

Aside from her usual maid uniform, the aura around her had significantly changed.

Calm, Sharp, Organized, almost like a professional maid.

Behind her was Dakna, though Draia was unusually absent.

As for Mireya and the others, Mireya and Sara were still sleeping, tired from their activities last night. And since he was just going to visit Grace, they didn’t force their selves to come and just rested. Aileen was with her parents and Jayla was still helping in the Hospital, healing wounded soldiers and civilians. She was a good kid.

Draia… Allen didn’t know where that little girl went to. Probably wandering around due to boredom.

After wiping the corner of Allen’s lips with the wet towel, Laura bowed and stepped backward, returning to her position; standing behind Allen obediently.

Her actions, attitude and mannerism were completely unlike before, decisive, calm, and confident. She looked like a real loyal servant!

Grace couldn’t help but feel astonished by Laura’s behavior and smirked, “You have quite a good servant, Allen…”

Allen shrugs. “Indeed,” He smiled showing his pearl white teeth and somewhat sharp canines. “She’s quite a dear~”

“I’m happy for your praise,” Laura smiled happily at Allen’s approval. There was nothing as delightful as hearing Allen’s praise for her. She even wanted to dance in joy, just to express how happy she was feeling.

Dakna frowned and felt dissatisfied with Laura gaining all her master’s praise. She was also useful, you know! Cough! She coughed trying to remind Allen of her presence.

Of course, how could Allen not notice? He smiled and said, “These two are my prized family. They can be considered my right and left hand. Laura serves me with all her best while Dakna was extremely reliable – though sometimes overprotective but she’s the best guardian I can ever wish for.”

Hearing that, Dakna immediately felt extremely happy. She raised her head and her overdeveloped bosom proudly as if trying to express that it was extremely natural. She would be the one to protect her master always… that is her duty!

Grace shook her head in amusement. The people around Allen were interesting and even some were extremely loyal and devoted to Allen. Just how did he manage to gather this kind of people?

From what she can see, they were different from Riza and the others, dependence due to dark pasts; these people were prepared to lay their lives for him from their own will. Although Allen’s charm was certainly irresistible as she was a proof of that but it wasn’t enough to make anyone obey and serve him like this.

Just what does Allen have for people to gather and worship him like this…?

“How long will you be staying here, Allen?” She asked.

“Probably, until tomorrow or the day after,” Allen answered as he sips his cup of coffee.

“That’s too soon, isn’t it?” Grace frowned.

Allen shrugs. “I have some appointments I can’t pass. Though before I go to that place, I need to visit somewhere and take what should be mine…” Allen was talking about the skill [ Living Weapon ]. He wanted to take it before going to the King’s Court.

The earlier he took it, the best it would be.

“How about you, are you still going to stay here? Or do you want to come with me?” Allen offered but Grace shook her head while smiling bitterly.

God knows how much she wanted to be with him but, “…There are still children here that needed me. I just can’t leave them behind.” She turned and glanced at the children playing outside. As a teacher, she just can’t leave the children alone while she pursues her own happiness.

“They needed my support, especially now… they don’t have anyone other than us,”

Allen nodded in understanding and although he felt disappointed but at the same time he felt proud. Indeed, she was the teacher the other ‘Allen’, and obviously, also him, was proud of.

“So, was I dumped…” Allen smiled bitterly.

Indeed he was dumped – though for a very good reason that he can’t deny. He really felt bitter but at the same time, he still felt happy for her. It seems like she had found her own path… not bloody as his but a good and proud path.

And he was so damn proud of her…

“I think I’m going to regret this though…” Grace chuckled. Although she still saw him as her own student but Allen for her was not just a student, but a man. Never did he think of him as ordinary inside her heart ever since this apocalypse happened.

“Probably,” Allen chided then his lips curled into a faint smile. “But walk on that road proudly. I won’t stop you but please don’t forget that you have a home you can always return to. If you ever felt tired of that road, just turn back, I’m always standing behind you.” Allen said with his gentle expression.

Hearing this, tears started flowing from Grace’ eyes.

Her cheeks were already red, not due to love or embarrassment but from how happy she was that she ever met someone like Allen.

She was extremely blessed to have met him.

She stood up and throws herself into Allen’s embrace.

Allen received her and leaned her head on his chest while stroking her hair gently.

“I may not be superman but if you ever have some trouble, I’m just one call away. You don’t need to hoard all your problems by yourself because, whatever it is, I will resolve it for you… remember, I'm always your student…”

“Just a student…?” Grace lifted her head upward and stared at Allen, a twinkle of mischief flash across her eyes.

“You just dump me though…” Allen answered with a wry smile.

“Then, if I ever decided to come home, you are still there waiting for me, right?”

“I will, I will always will,” Allen answered without hesitation. “So do everything you wanted and make all your dreams come true. And if you are tired from all of it, just cast them away and come home. When that day comes, I will give you a massage, serve you a hot coffee and sing you a lullaby for you to be able to sleep peacefully at night.”

“… …”

Tears couldn’t stop falling from Grace eyes. “My home will always be your home…” and these words were like the final blow as Grace felt she wanted to faint from intense happiness she was feeling right now.

She couldn’t help but buried her face in Allen’s embrace. She felt so warm, so soft, so wonderful.

She swears, she could have happily stayed in that position for the rest of her life, never letting go.

For her, Allen was the best thing that happened to her.
