Chapter 107: [ Luan Eagle ]

Chapter 107: [ Luan Eagle ]

“What is that?!” Gao Zuquan who was sitting on the ground not far away from it looked at the ferocious-looking monster in shock and fear.

Her voice attracted the monster’s attention, turning its ferocious gaze at her.

Feeling the imminent danger, Gao Zuquan was scared and crawled away. Although she was already at the mid-apprentice stage but facing a strong and terrifying monster like the one currently looking at her, anyone would get scared for death.

Her fighting spirit immediately disappeared somewhere, nowhere to be seen!

Looking at her daughter in danger, Gao Butian drank a mouthful of wine then rushed towards the monster while swaying like a drunkard.

The monster looked at Gao Butian and snorted, it then swung its huge axe. Gao Butian tumbled to the ground as if it was unintentional, completely dodging the strike then, “Haa!”

His fist strikes at the monster's throat, causing the monster to let out a ‘Gah!’ before stepping back.

Gao Butian wobbled, his feet moving in a zigzag manner as if only one foot was trying to support his body from falling.

Then he drank again.

The monster let out an enraged roar and once again strike but Gao Butian completely avoided it by swaying here and there.

Allen stopped Tang Yu from joining the fight and watched the battle with interested eyes. Gao Butian’s movements, although looked comical at first glance, if one looks closely, his every strike, dodge, and evasion were breathtaking as if every action was calculated.

His entire body was staggering but this caused the monster’s confusion, leaving him an opening to strike. Sometimes, Gao Butian also uses his seeming unpredictable movements to gather momentum in his hits, giving him a chance to use explosive strikes.

His fist, his kicks they were getting stronger every second. What’s more, the more he drinks, the drunker he gets, and the stronger he becomes!

Allen’s eyes begun to shine when he noticed, Gao Butian’s face started to flush like it was burning, his fist, as well as his feet, started to emit smoke. After this happened, his movements became even quicker and his power becomes even stronger.

This is certainly the wine’s effect! So this is that magical wine cauldron, rumored to be owned by one of the Drunken Gods of martial arts!?

“Why are you just watching there?! Help my father!!” Gao Zuquan shouted at Allen anxiously. She was starting to get annoyed at Allen who was just watching her father fight as if watching a wuxia movie.

“It’s just an ogre, at most its Lv5 so no need to worry about it.” Allen shrugged his shoulders. “…look, your father is getting the upper hand.”

“But even so! You can kill it, right? Why are you still standing there and doing nothing?!”

“No rush, no rush.” Allen continued smiling, without showing any intention of taking action. And this caused Gao Zuquan’s fury to skyrocket. She almost rushed over to strangle him when Tang Yu appeared in front of her and send out a palm.

Gao Zuquan was alarmed and immediately countered with her palm.

A collision sounded, causing both parties to step back a few steps.

“What are you doing?!” Gao Zuquan cried out.

“You can’t disturb the young master.” Tang Yu said simply. She then made her fighting stance against her.

“Are you insane? I’m not your opponent!!”

“Indeed, however, if you try to go against my young master then you are my enemy.”

“You!” Gao Zuquan felt she was going insane!

She couldn’t talk to Tang Yu so her vision redirected towards Allen. If eyes could shot bullets, Allen would have already become a beehive.

She wanted to call out again but before she could she suddenly noticed Allen’s lips turned into a strange smile. She seemed to have heard him mutter, “I found you.”

She was baffled but Allen had already disappeared from his original position.

“What?!”

Buzz!

Gao Zuquan heard a sound of electricity, stealing her gaze towards it. She found Allen between the Ogre and her father Gao Butian.

What is he doing there? She asked inwardly and she found the answer to her question right away.

Under the dumbfounded gazes of the Ogre and Gao Butian, Allen raised his arm and his fist strike the ground.

Crackle! Buzz! Crackle!

Electricity runs through the ground followed by a huge impact, sending the Ogre and Gao Butian to opposite directions.

Gyaaaaaahhhh!!

A deafening shriek resounded in the whole forest. From under the ground, a huge 10 – 20 meter long brown colored snake burst out, its huge mouth shrieking in agony.

“What is that?!” Gao Zuquan asked as she retroceded in fear. Her eyes widened in shock.

Tang Yu, on the other hand, was still calm. Although she showed a shock expression just a while ago, it was only for a moment and her expression immediately reverted back to normal.

“Didn’t I just say, visitors?  Ogre is not the only one who came here, there’s two more. One of them is that huge snake, quietly waiting underneath for an opportunity to attack.” For how knows when Allen was already standing beside the two women.

“Waiting?” Gao Zuquan asked surprised. “So you’re not just lazily watching my father’s battle but was waiting for the snake to come out from its hole?”

“That’s right.” Allen nodded his head. “Although I did wanted to see Old Gao’s martial arts but the monsters were more important.”

“My young master is never been wrong!” Tang Yu proudly puffs her chest. Her face lets out a cynical smile.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“If I’m not mistaken, that huge snake should be [ Ba Serpent  ]. A cunning predator that concealed itself in any place and wait for its prey to be caught off guard. It’s a giant snake that could swallow an elephant and its favorite hiding place is hiding underneath the earth.” Allen explained.

“Just now, I was looking for its hiding place using the electricity running through the ground.”

“You can do that?!”

“That’s simple, that’s just a ground version of my skill [ Sonar ].”

Gao Butian stood up, albeit wobbly but he still managed to walk towards Allen and the others. “You said, there’s two more. Where is the last one?”

Allen didn’t answer and instead looked above.

Flying in a circle, a huge predator was eyeing the electrocuted huge snake. It was a beautiful blue colored bird with a head like an eagle and eyes like precious rubies. It looked like the legendary Phoenix but was blue in color.

As it watched the struggling snake, its pair of eyes sparkles with golden pyrite inclusions.

“It seems like, you’re in luck. You have seen the mythical Luan bird…” Allen smiled brightly and his eyes sparkle.

Listening to him, Gao Zuquan, Gao Butian, and even Tang Yu couldn’t help but become dumbfounded.

The Luan Bird?!

No Chinese hadn’t heard what this bird was. Heard only in legends, Luan bird was said to be the famous ‘Blue Bird’.

There is also a story depicting the Luan Bird as a multi-colored solar bird. It is a bird resembling a pheasant striped in five colors.

It is said that Luan Bird is the helper of mythical Feng-huang. A symbol of peace!

But now, in front of them was actually the legendary bird? This is amazing!

“Is, is it really THAT Luan Bird?” Gao Zuquan was agitated. She was excited, very excited.

“Actually, it’s not the real Luan Bird.” But as if pouring cold water on her excitement, Allen shook his head and answered.

“Eh?”

“Don’t you see that it’s not completely blue? And its head was that of an eagle, right?”

After hearing those words, Gao Zuquan and the others immediately returned their gazes at the blue bird. Indeed, it wasn’t completely blue since there’s a hint of purple and red on its back to its corona. Its tail was also not as grand as that of a phoenix in legend.

“Luan Bird is similar to Phoenix and Feng-Huang, how could it possibly appear at this part of the forest? They’re not cabbages that could be seen anywhere~”

“But you said it’s a Luan Bird!!”

“I’m not entirely wrong either. From what I can guess, it possesses the bloodline of the Luan Bird and seeing its beautiful blue colored feathers, it has strong Luan blood.” Allen smiled while explaining.

“So it is indeed, can be considered to be a Luan Bird but not a pure one. It should be a cross between a Luan Bird and a three legged eagle.”

Now that he mentions it, Gao Zuquan finally noticed its third leg.

“How did you know of this? Have you seen a real Luan Bird?”

Allen smiled mysteriously but didn’t answer.

But of course, he had seen them. He had even seen a real Phoenix before and dare try catching it, only to end in failure.

At that time, Allen was interested in taming a Phoenix. When he heard that it showed up not so far away from him, due to the impulse of a youth, he immediately went in pursuit.

Sadly, the Phoenix is just too strong, especially its Phoenix fire that could burn anything. It was one of Allen’s biggest failures in his life. He had lost many strong and powerful Lv7 and Lv8 monsters at that time.

But in his pursuit, he had seen a real Luan Bird. Unfortunately, it was together with the Phoenix so he couldn’t capture it. After that, he had never seen one again.

If he wasn’t mistaken, at that time because of what he had done, the phoenix was enraged and burn two, no three cities in anger.

Anyway, the past is past. He was just a fearless fool at that time.

As Allen was reminiscing, the battle between three monsters finally started.

The Ogre started brandishing its huge axe at the huge snake, while the snake swept its tail at it while staying vigilant at the sky. The blue bird was sneaking some wind blades from time to time, trying to cut the snake.

“They’re fighting!” Gao Zuquan exclaimed. She was finally relieved after realizing that the monsters seemed to be ignoring them and was only focusing the enemy in front of them.

“The Ogre seemed to be only fighting the huge snake” Tang Yu muttered in realization.

“Same goes for the blue bird. Its entire focused was only in the huge snake.” Gao Butian also said while drinking his wine.

“That’s right. From what I can guess, this is a three-way fight.” Allen added.

“Three-way fight?”

“Um. What I’m saying is that that snake wanted to eat the Ogre but its existence was noticed by that blue bird who then decided to make a meal out of it.” Allen explained while watching the battle. “… The Ogre was in the middle of its escape when it met us. But now, seeing it couldn’t escape anymore, it decided to fight to the death.”

“Oh? But isn’t this our opportunity to escape? What are we waiting for?”

“Escape? What do you mean by escape?” Allen tilted in puzzlement.

“Are you an idiot?!” Gao Zuquan roared in anger. “While those monsters are fighting with each other, we should quickly leave this place! If no, those monsters will kill us!”

“Why are we going to escape? There is a rare monster, you know?”

Allen looked at lady Gao strangely. His gaze was as if he’s looking at an idiot.

“You!” But Gao Zuquan, glared at Allen while the latter poked his head out, and grabbed his collar. “Do you want to us to die here?! Those monsters are strong! If there’s one then maybe we had a chance but there are three, you hear me?! Three powerful monsters! And you want us to stay here?!”

In the face of lady Gao’s heinous glare, Tang Yu who was standing just behind Allen shot back a death glare.

“Take those hands away from my young master or else I’m going to cut them myself!” Tang Yu spoke with a cold voice. Her right hand quietly pulled a 6 – 7 inches dagger from inside her clothes.

Tang Yu was angered. Not only her beloved young master was insulted, yelled at, he was even shown violence. This isn’t something she can bear.

Lady Gao winced from the intense killing intent and subconsciously let go of Allen’s collar. She didn’t imagine for Tang Yu to react exaggeratedly. However, she knows Tang Yu wasn’t joking. If she won’t let go, Tang Yu will certainly cut her hand off.

Gao Butian was also astonished. He was now starting to wonder what Allen’s real identity really was for a servant like Tang Yu to react like this. It seemed like, if someone antagonizes Allen, Gao Butian was certain that Tang Yu would not hesitate to kill that person.

Just who is this Ye Wushuang?

He had said that he wasn’t from the house of Ye but was that really so?

To have a loyal servant like Tang Yu, Allen’s identity shouldn’t be that simple.

“Alright now, everyone calms down.” Gao Butian stepped forward, looking like he was sobered. He then stepped between Allen and his daughter Gao Zuquan and said, “My daughter is right. Mister Ye, I also think that we need to leave right now or else it would be too late. I’m just barely a match against that Ogre and from what I can see the other two monsters are much stronger than that Ogre. We aren’t a match against them!”

“That’s right! We need to leave now!”

Tang Yu ignored the father-daughter's rambling and just silently stood behind Allen. Her eyes locked at Gao Zuquan giving the latter a scare.

Likewise, Allen didn’t care. “You can leave, in any case, I’m not the one needing a snake monster.” He shrugged his shoulder.

“But Mister Ye, that snake is certainly stronger than the snake before. We can’t defeat it might as well give up and just look for another one.”

“Of course, it would be stronger. From what I can see, that [ Ba Serpent ] is at most a Lv7 or 8 monster while the [ Cloud Serpent ] is a Lv4 monster. As for that blue bird, its power should be more or less the same with the [ Ba Serpent ].”

“Then what? You’re saying you can win against them?!” Gao Zuquan was annoyed. “… Even if you have that huge white snake, I don’t think it can win against two powerful monsters!”

Looking at the still smiling Allen who looked silly and stupid in her eyes, she snorted, “Just because you have a strong monster doesn’t mean you can defeat anything. You will only embarrass yourself.”

Gao Zuquan mocked. Gao Butian thought her daughter had gone too much with her words and wanted to stop her but truthfully he also felt the same. The monsters in front of them are just too powerful. Facing them, Gao Butian wasn’t confident that he can win.

But before he could say anything, he suddenly heard Tang Yu’s cold voice, “Ignorant.”

One simple word but it carries a heavy meaning.

“What did you say?!” Gao Zuquan roared in anger.

But Tang Yu didn’t hold back. “If you are scared then go and leave, hide in some corner like a little lousy dog. In any case, as a martial artist, you already failed.”

!!?

“In rivers and lakes, if one is scared to take a risk, one can’t go against the heavens. Do you know what that means?”

Tang Yu mockingly asked.

“You!”

Tang Yu continues to smile coldly, “… though I do find it a massive pity, in my eyes, you are already a failure as a cultivator!”

!!?

“A cultivator shouldn’t fear death and take the risk! A cultivator must have the courage to go against the heavens or else you won’t go far in the martial arts world!”

Of course, leaving aside her eyes that were showing skepticism, even her smile, blooming like a flower, was filled with the terror of Absolute Zero.

Hearing her words, Gao Zuquan’s shoulders started trembling. She felt insulted and humiliated.
