Chapter 644: [Lecture(2)]

“… …” Allen was boasting but not one dared to argue or deny it as what he said was the truth. If it was not talent, then how can he reach the realm he was currently at in his so young age? It’s not as simple as something reachable no matter how many years you train—even most people tripped and stumble on the way and would never be able to take at least half of the destination where Allen was located at.

If this is not talent, then what is it…?

Allen nodded his head. “…When some of you realize that you were not born ultra-talented like those of your peers, you have given up on getting to that level. You will develop these inferior tendencies of giving up before you exert all your efforts and be satisfied in the things you currently have—thinking, oh well, this is it. I wouldn’t be able to surpass them, after all, unlike them, I don’t have talent… I wouldn’t even able to be compared against them—”

“…?!!”

Many people stiffened.

Seeing this Allen shook his head. “Because of this mindset, the thought of losing, of being inferior to someone, brought no shame to all of you. To avoid being completely cut off from your surroundings, whether done intentionally or not, you all would try to devote fifty to sixty percent of your ability to any task and no more…and just remember that losing was simply a part of life. That you would not be able to hold a candle against someone extremely talented…”

“… …”

Allen propped out his elbow to his raised knee and look down with a grin, “However, in reality, it does require a lot to reach the Realm where all geniuses were standing, you know~"

“…?!”

“…while talent is important, hard work is just as important. You will need to make up for the lack of natural talent with hard work—that is common sense. Every person is born genius, if not, there would be people who act like dogs and monkeys in this world, because they thought they are dogs and monkeys themselves—just like how you thought you wouldn’t be able to surpass these known geniuses, was like judging a fish by its ability to climb a tree, you all will spend your whole lives believing that you are so stupid and inferior…"

Allen’s expression was calm. Noticing that everyone was looking rather confused, he smiled faintly, "You must all be thinking that I am saying useless things."

Hearing this, everyone awkwardly beamed.

They really did think that Allen was spewing useless things.

No matter what kind of world it was nor what kind of life they love, who didn't know about the importance of talent? Without talent, it was too difficult to achieve anything. Though everyone said working hard is important too, it was only targeted towards normal people. How could someone reach the Realm of the Gods with mere hard work? If that is possible, then there would be many Gods in the world as many as stars in the sky…!

Who wouldn’t want to reach such heights?

Many people had tried, breaking their bodies and bones just to reach it—but did they do it? Did they achieve it? Only a few have the fortune to do it…!

This was a widely known fact. Only the talented could reach the heights of the heavens!

Now, Allen was standing before everyone telling them to achieve that with hard work. Naturally, they did not believe him.

Allen shook his head in the face of everyone's disbelief. “Talent is indeed an important factor to measure one’s future and capabilities—BUT that is just a component. A single factor…!” Allen’s eyes narrowed and his expression turned solemn and serious. “Life is not that simple, it’s more complicated than clockworks. Talent is just a single gear of its overall component—if the other gears don’t match up with it and work, the clock will never turn.”

Allen shrugs. "There is nothing wrong about the agreed-upon rules in this world. The domain of God is a place only the talented can get too. In other words, to reach the realm, you need to awaken the potential in your bodies. What I meant by hard work is not just breaking bones and tearing flesh to do it—it is how to awaken your potential. Even though it's a bit like pulling onto the grass to make it grow taller, it is the only way. What you all have, whether it’s small or inferior to others, seen as trash and mocked by those around you—pull it all out till its roots because that might become an advantage for you compared to other people."

“…?!!”

“There are many ways and paths in this world, but it all ends in one destination—” Allen grinned. “Exploit, exploit all the energy you have. Once that happens, you can reach the realm that you always thought and regarded as impossible for you and will surely build a great foundation for you. If the geniuses you know of taking one step further, then you will take two steps—even if it’s hard and difficult and even if it’s only an inch forward compared to the geniuses around you, take it. If they jump, you crawl—there’s no shame in doing that. There are ways in the world, some are not suitable for you…but there are still those that perfectly suit you…! Exploit that!"

“Don’t stop moving, just keep walking, and walking, and walking…if you reach the sea of bitterness, swim it, if you saw the mountains of blades, climb it—if not, you will only remain mediocre in your entire life—remember this, it’s not the world or the others that give up on you, it’s you that gives up on yourself…!”

Hearing this, everyone frowned as they chewed on what Allen had said. There was some truth in it.

"I dare ask, I wonder how you plan to bring out our potential?"

One of Qin Han’s group members suddenly spoke, his gaze full of heat.

Many people were like him, their gazes were passionate. The domain of God was a dream-like state to them. It’s every people’s dreams and goals. However, they knew very well that with the talent they were born with, there was no way they could get there. This was why many of them gave up this thought. But before them, was a man who said all of them had potential. How could they not be excited?

Even if it’s bogus, they wanted to try… they wanted to do all they can to ignite the dreams they had thought would be impossible to them…!

Allen chuckled. "Potential is something that is hidden internally. After you explore it, again and again, more and more energy will be released. For example, facing a life or death situation, your instinct to survive will grow and you will perform far better than normal. Haven’t you noticed this before? Humans or beasts, before death, why are you able to release energy that you normally do not have?”

“…?!!”

“…When faced with a life-or-death situation, humans can harness more of their strength and power than usual, to overcome the obstacle they're facing. Some call it ‘Hysterical Strength’ but in my opinion, it’s more of touching or breaking through the ‘Ancestral Lock’ giving them power that is normally beyond them…”

“Ancestral Lock?”

Allen nodded their head. “Actually human beings are the most powerful creations of God—the One True God created humans to stand at the top of the Natural Food Chain since the very beginning. However, because of some event that had happened, that angered the One True God, he had placed many seals within his creations. I call it [Ancestral Lock] because we are all descendants of those first men he had created and also inherited these seals. However, through the passing age of time, several humans have unknowingly broken through several of these locks and become famous, standing at the summit of their own fields. They became Geniuses of their own eras. We now call it ‘Potential’ or ‘Talent’…”

“… …”

Allen smiled wryly, “Unbelievable, right? However, why don’t you think it like this, The One True God, has always been fair. However, why are there people born with good and excellent talents? One must remember, all of us came from the same mold and being—then, why are there people who have good graces and talents compared to us? What has gone wrong? Why is the world unfair to us?”

“…That is because, these geniuses you admired, are those people who were able to break several seals on their bodies, becoming geniuses as they are now. Several reasons why, first is through genetic inheritances, their parents are able to break through these seals and so when passed by their children they became innately capable. Some were fortunate, some through hard work—bypassing the limits of man…” Allen faintly smiled.

And then, he continued to speak of his discoveries.

Everyone fell silent and listened intently.

After a while, only the leaves rustling in the wind could be heard alongside his gentle voice.

There were no double rainbows, no lotuses thrusting through the soil, no scriptures being read out loud. Despite the lack of natural phenomenon, everyone listened intensely as if drunk. Their faces appeared enlightened.

Strictly speaking, Allen was simply translating his own experience to these people, not giving a discourse. Despite his strength and realm, Allen’s current understanding about Heaven and Earth and the Law of the World and Fate does not qualify him to do so. However, his experience in his countless lives he could remember are top-notch and do not lack next to anyone!

Therefore, he was merely passing down his experience as well as some theoretical knowledge that all the ‘him’ from before of his countless lives had researched to. Despite this, everyone was still very drunk off his speech as they chewed on his every word. After half an hour, Allen had finished speaking about his own experience and he stopped. However, everyone's facial expression appeared that they were still enjoying what he was saying and could not snap out of the knowledge he had passed down.

Though there was no natural phenomenon happening, his words were enough to get everyone else drunk. This proved one thing.

His teaching was successful!

After a long moment, everyone finally snapped back to reality. The way they looked at Allen was full of excitement and appreciation. It was obvious. They had understood the message Allen was trying to pass on!

To put it bluntly, what Allen did today opened the door for them. A door that led them to a bright future!

Though the door was now ajar, it did not mean everyone could push it open and get to the other side. However, the existence of door had given them a target and a goal to work towards!

"Good. It appears that you now understand." Allen smiled faintly, his eyes flashed with pride. He believed that his efforts were not wasted.

If only one person, out of this group of people, could step onto the bright road, his actions today would be deemed worthy. After all, he never had enough talents and war potential.

"Okay. I have opened the door for you and also slightly brightened the path that is ahead of you. As for how far you can go, depends on your efforts." Allen grinned. He then stood up slowly and peered into the horizon. "What I initially thought was to teach all of you some principles and morals that you must adhere to and never forget no matter how far you reach in the near future. However, it takes time to see the effect, and it's not exactly helpful in killing and real battles, so I thought of sharing some additional knowledge to all of you. Considering that killing is more vital, I shall teach you a killing skill today."

Hearing these words, whether it was the Cultivators or Kris Tian’s group, all of their eyes sparkled in an instant and their bodies trembling in expectation. Many of them were excited.

"Follow me to the training ground," Allen said and slowly descended into the ground, like a floating celestial.
