Chapter 753: [Fateful Meeting]

… …

Experience poured through him in every kill. Although with his current level, this is but a drop in the ocean, it was still a welcome addition to his points.

Allen glared at the seemingly endless monsters that were rushing towards him, his lips arching into a savage grin. His twin pistols—[Cerberus] emitted lightning sparks and then, attacked the monsters steadily. With the help of the lightning surging through the pistols, every bullet speed was enhanced, turning into that of a railgun. No, maybe it was faster and stronger than a normal railgun. It was a truly strong destructive power.

As he was quite busy dealing with the monsters that poured on him like a tidal wave, it was at this moment—

Swoosh.

Without any signs, an object dropped towards his head. Immediately after seeing that, his expression darkens, and immediately, he rolled on the ground to dodge. He, who had retained his cool and calm up until now, felt his expression dimmed as he rolled over.

Right after that, a gigantic scythe embedded itself on the ground he was just standing at, with a frightening ‘psh’ sound. This was an attack with frightening strength, that it even gouge out the floor which even a nuclear might not be able to break. If he didn't dodge in time and tried to block it instead, he would surely be pushed to a disadvantage, even if he had managed to successfully block it.

“Target... found.”

A voice reached his ears.

“Another troublesome enemy appears,”

Allen raised his head to see its figure. Standing with its scythe still stuck on the ground, it was a monster that had a thin body with a black hood as if materializing the figure of a death god. No, this should be the real Death Reaper! A true, and genuine Death Keeper.

A monster that reaps souls and death since ancient times.

A monster that is only inferior to the God of Death like Hades, Osiris, or Hel!

He had seen many of this kind of monster in countless worlds that ‘he’ had presided. The being that rejected him, and keeps him coming back to the world after he dies so that he could never be with Hel after death- only to be found by Vergil and be absorbed by him.

“I hate their kind!”

Allen clicked his tongue.

If there was one thing that he was relieved about, however, was that the ‘fear’ or at least ‘Apprehension’ that he had felt from their kind before, didn’t come. It was probably because it was not a monster that can be said to be comparable to those Death Reapers that had rejected him.

Meaning, this monster in front of him is not as powerful and immortal as them…!

And besides, he too had been unlike the him before. He was now a God- a True God, that a real Death Reaper couldn't even match up to. Much less, he was a God with an Aspect of Death and Immortality! Looking at their status, he could be said to be superior to these bastards, and perhaps even their Master!

And this monster in front of him is not an exception. This Death Reaper is not a Transcendent-level monster comparable to a Mid-God, indeed. It was definitely much stronger than an Ice Dragon like Icefyre from before, but it was definitely still within his means.

The 'being' was slightly bigger than normal humans. Taller than Allen was. Its height was roughly around 3m or at least beyond that. Moreover, its strangely thin body looked weak to the point that it might get blown away with a breath.

However, its real strength was nothing like that.

Its body hidden under the black hood had an enormous power capable of easily making even that arrogant Ice Dragon; Icefyre, kneel. Its seemingly intangible coat flickered as if it was an illusion and within its hood, only a pair of flickering fire orbs could be seen, along with its skeletal hands that grasped the shaft of the enormous skull-ornamented death scythe.

“Judgment! Death!”

The Death reaper muttered in a cold, almost mechanic voice and the pitch-black scythe that it was swinging around flew at Allen as if to cut apart his neck.

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

If the first strike was aimed at him, even he would be hard-pressed to see through it if he had not activated his [God’s Eyes].

With its shout, Allen didn’t think to block the oncoming scythe and avoided it. It’s not like he couldn’t but it would just be foolish to take a Death reaper’s attack head-on. After all, it was not just a physical attack but it also hurt the soul. Although to him it would be minimal, there are still several bosses behind this corridor. Becoming injured here is a stupid action.

If one can dodge, why not do it…?

“Judgement! Death!”

“Do you have a limited vocabulary...?”

Allen snorted but he didn’t hurry in attacking it. If it was a situation where he overwhelmed the other, then the best attack would be to suppress it in strength. But confronting a strong, sturdy, and moreover, unpredictable opponent, he had to see through his opponent first.

“Youuuuu---!”

“Come at me. That’s it, come on. You’re too slow!”

Allen taunted it and moved his body again. Its body, and the area of its movement, the radius of its attacks, the power behind it, the probability of change – he looked through all of them.

Its scythe was swung around several times as if to reflect its madness, but it couldn’t catch him.

Allen analyzes every action and behavior of the Death Reaper with his [God’s Eyes]. Even the smallest habit, all were recorded in his mind like a video recorder. However, the Death Reaper was not the only one he was confronting.

As Allen was focusing most of his attention on the Death Reaper, around him, monsters and demons also started to move, rushing at him, intending to stop his irritating, loach-like evasion.

If the gargoyle magic beasts had wings, they would look just like them. Allen mused. It’s easy to tell that these gargoyle-like monsters were this Death Reaper’s companion.

Clank!

Allen somersaulted in the air, dodging the ominous death scythe’s blade, and then the twin [Cerberus] pointed at the monsters around him, his arms crossing in front of his chest—

“All of you are goddamn annoying!”

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of gunshots resounded and the heads of several winged gargoyle monsters burst out like crushed tomatoes. But there’s no ever so familiar red blood or any color of blood. It was as if the winged gargoyle’s head was made of stone, or probably they actually were, as they exploded into countless stone shards.

Allen landed elegantly but then immediately kicked off the ground. However, those movements weren’t exaggerated, and of the kind where he could take it back at any time. As he had expected, immediately after he moved away from that place, a spike emitting a black aura shot up from the ground and branched through the air.

At the same time, the main body of the Death Reaper also assaulted Allen.

“It’s good that its attack pattern is obvious.”

It is fortunate that its weapon mastery was very low compared to my estimations – thinking wholeheartedly, Allen stepped on the ground lightly in order to avoid the Death Reaper’s scythe.

A glowing magic circle appeared under his foot and the protruding spike was immediately crushed under rubble. Allen pointed the muzzle at the chasing Death Reaper, a few inches in front of the muzzle were small glowing magic circles—

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

When the bullet passed through the magic circle, it suddenly transformed into small oriental dragons that opened their jaws full of fangs, all while covered by gleaming lightning and attack the Death Reaper with utmost ferocity and strength.

BOOOM!

BOOOM!

BOOOM!

Series of explosions that burst out shockwaves, sending monsters crashing onto other monsters, and the walls and ceilings, even the nearby windows cracked like spider-webs. However, as expected of a Demon Castle, its sturdiness was unequaled. It was actually not destroyed even though the explosion was like a mini-nuclear bomb.

Swooosh.

“DIEEEEEEE!!!”

The Death Scythe cut the air, tearing the smoke like ripping blankets. Then, it let out a deafening roar as if a wild beast was going berserk.

The monster crazily roared while swinging the scythe all over the place.

All of those attacks became blades of wind and assaulted him!

Every time the weapon was swung, Allen moved his body according to the trajectory that he had seen and run forward. If he didn’t, he would have to allow an attack from the spikes behind him!

“Noisy!”

Immediately after its scythe was swung diagonally to the right, Allen pointed the twin [Cerberus] and the bullet that passed through the magic circle in front of their muzzles become sharp spears unlike the oriental dragons from before. To observe anymore, its attack was too sharp. So there was a need for him to limit its movements by attacking it.

The spears from the [Cerberus] were extremely sharp, almost rivaling that of a Legendary-Tier Magic Weapon- as expected of the [Cerberus] made from the three-headed dog monster itself!

It reached and wounded the monster’s physical body which was hidden behind the black hood perfectly by ripping through it!

The blades of wind stopped after it was attacked and stunned for a little. Allen took this chance, and instantly moved backward and reorganized himself. He needed to find an opening to deal with a fatal shot. But it was obvious that the [Cerberus] would not be enough to do that.

Spikes shot up from the ground that Allen was just standing, and the monster’s scythe didn’t end with just a swing but gave rise to blade-like winds. However, Allen had already jumped away from his former position.

The [Cerberus] pistols on his hand slowly disappeared and then, it was replaced by a long spear. There was a striking sculpture of a black dragon circling the shaft of the spear that could be seen. When Allen held it, a dragon’s roar resounded in the entire area. The sculpture of the serpent black dragon around the shaft seemed to be alive, glaring menacing and with its blurry image, it seemed to be moving.

His eyes narrowed and his left foot steps back, his right knee slowly bent.

The sharp pointed blade aimed at the crazed Death Reaper.

He slowly adjusted his posture. He gripped the Dragon-Exterminating Spear, as tightly as possible, bent his knees, and pulled back his arms. The muscles of his arms became taut like a drawn bowstring, puffed up inside his clothes.

“Playtime’s over!”

He grumbled.

And his spirit exploded.
