Chapter 737: [Battle Start (2)]

Kacha~

Even after his head and body were separated, the Malebranche was still very confused and full of shock. Just what had happened? His eyes seemed to say.

Behind him was Allen wearing a cold expression and on his face was hanging a savage smile, “Since you appeared here, why bother leaving?” he muttered. "You might as well stay forever,"

The moment, half of the demon’s shoulder and his head fell onto the ground, Allen calmly stood at the spot and turn his cold gaze towards the other demons. Their numbers are increasing every minute. Even Allen wondered where they are coming from.

And here I thought that they would be focusing their forces on the surface—as expected of Mammon. Instead of trying to win the war at the surface, he rather ended Allen first. Or was it, rather than feeling that Allen is more dangerous, Mammon deemed him more important than conquering the surface?

Lucifer…

Allen couldn’t help but sigh.

Come what may! I will change my fate with my own hands.

Even if it is you Lucifer, I will destroy all schemes in my way!

Allen disappeared right under the eyes of many demons, disappearing right into thin air.

In the next moment, he had mysteriously teleported to a large group at the right. He took out his Rebellion full of bloodthirst and pressed it to one of the demon’s neck, snorting he coldly muttered, “No matter how many you are, did you even think you can defeat me? It seems like Mammon is greatly underestimating me… or probably, all of you are just nothing but disposable pawns?”

The demons heard Allen’s words and started to tremble all over. They completely didn’t think that at a distance of more than ten meters apart, this frightening killing machine could appear at their back out of thin air. When one of the demon warriors turned back naturally as he heard his words, Allen had already withdrawn Rebellion and started to twist that demon’s neck.

Slowly.

Very slowly, he twisted the demon's head off.

In his last moments, that demon let out an extremely miserable, painful cry that resounded throughout the whole mountains unceasingly. Allen twisted that demon’s neck off then raised it high up before smashing it towards the ground, splitting it up like a watermelon. Then he kicked it towards the mountainside, turning the head into a ball of bloodied flesh and broken bones that no one could clearly make out its original appearance anymore.

“I don't have much time, I still have a reunion to be- so might as well,”

He looks around him.

The bodies laid layer upon layers, and blood flowed out like a river. Black mist swirled around him, and his red eyes gleamed in the light.

“Arise! Bring their souls to me!”

Then, around him, dark shadow like mist covered the entire area. The demons and fallen angels were appalled by this sudden development and hurriedly jump back in fear. However, what happened next made them even more terrified.

Amidst a spray of bubbles, dozen skeletons and undead emerged from the fallen bodies of demons and fallen angels, each holding round shields and curved swords. ‘Kakakaka’ noises resounded within the entire area as if celebrating their revival.

Most of the skeletons were outfitted in breastplates, bearing an inverted-triangle shield — a heater shield — in one hand, and all manner of hand weapons in the other. They even had quivers and bows on their backs. These armed skeletons were fully equipped for attack and defense and for fighting at close or long-range.

There were also undead wearing tattered hooded mantles, looking like magicians and spellcasters. Only a small number of undead demons and fallen angels appeared but their numbers were still growing and increasing every passing minute. Then, there were undead that were similarly accoutered with breastplates, but sporting tattered red capes and helmets, wielding bastard swords and round shields, like typical nights.

The last group comprised the least numerous, but best-equipped undead. They wore suits of shiny golden full plate armor and gripped shiny pikes. Not a single spot of dirt marred their brilliant red capes.

As demons and fallen angels inspected the newly rising undead, they realized something. One of them can’t even help but rubbed his eyes several times, wondering if they were mistaken. However, the reality before him remained as it was.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

“Eh…? No way…”

“How, how could this be…”

High-level warriors realized that all the people around them were muttering in a pained voice as they gasped in shock as well.

“…Oh, it seems you noticed too.”

One of the members of the Malebranche’s voice sounded similarly tortured.

“Mm…”

A high ranking demon stopped there. He did not want to continue, because he would be afraid if he continued to speak, but he had to say it:

“…Those look like magic weapons.”

The Malebranche nodded steadily from beside him.

All the weapons wielded by the undead army were magical in nature. Some had flaming swords, while others had hammers crackling with electricity. Some had pikes whose heads were sheathed in a green light, while others had scythes that dripped a viscous purple fluid.

“Not just that. Take a look at their armor and shields. They’re all… enchanted as well.”

And then, the Demon groaned in dismay. That was because almost all demon warriors realized that those shiny suits of armor did not reflect the sun’s light, but seemed to glow from within.

This is really absurd!

In the Demon World, Necromancers are not rare. But Necromancers this rich…? What kind of ruler could outfit these many undead servants in magic items? If it was only a matter of simple sharpening enchantments, the demons had heard that certain great necromancers and death rules could amass quantities like this after long planning. However, imbuing these many magic weapons with elemental properties — and in the variety before him — was another matter entirely.

Worst of all, every undead servant was actually emitting powerful auras as if they are far above normal demons in this Imperial Land.

As the demon army stared at the slowly growing undead army aghast—a gust of bone-freezing wind blew over them. It was not a one-time occurrence — the chill wind blew over and over.

This preternaturally frigid wind was not a natural phenomenon.

There was no doubt that it was the result of magic.

“Now then my beasts…have your fill!”

A cold voice rang out.

Aroooooooaaahhh—!!!

Aaaaaaahhhhh—!!

Crooooowaaaaahhhh—!!!

Excited cries and roars rang out, spelling to every person in the vicinity what despair is.

They were disturbed, they were hungry—

Go, to where the food was.

The voice cried out.

It was their father’s voice.

Hurry and eat. What can keep you alive is over there.

Eat.

Slaughter.

Drink.

And become strong, strong, strong......

The undead stirred.

Shing! Shing! In front, an eye-catching ghoul could be seen, making screeching noise with its sharp long claws and an excited gleam passing over its eyes. In the previous world, this was one of the Demons greatest assassins who made an entire world fear the night and darkness.

It was none other than, [Night Reaper]!

It was so excited since it had been so long since it had last fought. And now, turning its gaze around, the [Night Reaper] was so excited it could dance. There are so many preys!

“Is this… the power of the Demon Prince? I see… that would explain it.”

If he could use this kind of power, then the title of “Demon Prince” would be well-deserved.

“Oi oi oi, when I look around at everyone, it doesn’t look good.”

The cold wind blows even stronger and snow started falling from the sky.

Such cold winds could not blow in this weather — in other words; this was a supernatural change in the environment that was beyond their ability to comprehend. The demons and fallen angel’s morale plummeted to rock bottom.

… …

Time would pass slowly if all one did was wait. However, it practically flew past when one was preparing for a task with a time limit.

The appointed time had come.

Today, the searing bloody sun of the underworld crawled slowly into the sky, which was a cloudless clear true crimson. There was no sound of the wind, and the world was shrouded in a silence so profound that one could hear the proverbial pin drop.

Pre-battle tension filled the air.

Someone gulped, and someone’s breathing quickened.

And after who knew how long since the gathered demons collectively decided to remain quiet—

A hole appeared in the heavens, and a cloud billowed forth. It expanded as swiftly as it had earlier until it enveloped the entire sky.

Soon, when the clouds obscured the firmament, when the sun’s light was gone and when all was darkness—

The demons saw countless undead slowly crawled out from the dark mist, growling, shrieking. The dark mist obscured them and prevented them from getting an exact count, so all they could see was an endless tide shambling forward. The attackers were Zombies, Skeletons, Undead Beasts, Skeleton Archers, and Undead Riders, and still many different undead gleaming with red eyes.

Within the dark mist, Allen was smiling faintly as he stood amidst the enormous numbers of undead. Suddenly, his eyes turned towards the direction of a strange magic fluctuation he finds somewhat familiar. He thought it would be an old friend. However, when he narrowed his eyes, he suddenly realized he was wrong.

It was not someone he knew, probably a group of upstart. The only thing that caused this strange familiarity was that they are rulers of death—Necromancers!

When Allen started summoning Undead, some has brains and started summoning as well, trying to compete. Now, within a hundred meters, the area was almost filled with undead. Even still, with just one look, one can see that Allen was still above any necromancers in the vicinity. He alone toppled three to four Demon Necromancers in numbers and the quality of Allen’s summons was above the normal. Especially, the Ghouls such as the Elemental Ghouls and [Night Reaper]!

Even comparing undead beasts, Allen has a variety that was originally stronger and powerful when they are alive. The Demon Necromancers looking at his summons and couldn’t help but feel ashamed. It’s totally ridiculous!

How much magic power that this person possesses?!

This amount of magic power is already above five of them combined and the number of Undead summoned is still getting higher!

Is his magic power limitless?!

Looking at the foreboding war, Allen smiled widely.

‘Looks like they’re also ready.’

Allen pointed a hand toward the gathered demons.

“Kill them.”

At his command, the army of undead let out deafening roars one after another and slid across the land toward the enemy.

The war occurred!
