Chapter 43: [ Truth of the Apocalypse ]

Chapter 43: [ Truth of the Apocalypse ]

“Mister Allen, can you tell us everything you know about what was happening right now?”

When day broke on the sixth day, Allen and the others had already left for the military conference room that was situated within the headquarters of the Camp Leon Kilat. And the people that had gathered there were 13 people in total including the three people via video call:

Major William Garces, Lt. Colonel Mayla Flores, Aileen, Flor, Alicia, Ms. Grace, three high ranking soldiers and three people reflected from the monitor; Brigadier General Castillo, Commodore Camila Ramos, and Captain McDonald Otanes.

Major William, who was acting as the Host for the conference, was sitting at the front.

“I heard about Lt. Colonel saying you know the sixth day, wave or something…is it?”

“That is right,” Allen answered.

Stroking lightning on his bosom, Allen cast a nonchalant gaze at him.

“What is happening right now is akin to an Apocalypse, and we called it by the name [ Fantasial Apocalypse ].”

“Apocalypse…”

“'We' have gathered many theories as to how it happened…but all of them remain nothing but conjectures and we have no means of confirming them.” What Allen was talking about were theories he heard in the other world and not in this world.

Theories, conjectures, hypothesis, many scientists made their own research as to what is the cause of this apocalypse.

Was it done by God? Or maybe from an unknown factor…

“…but I don’t have any intention of wasting my time telling you each of these theories as it would prove meaningless and time wasting. However, I have encountered a very wonderful opportunity just a few days ago that lead in confirming my own thoughts regarding the existence of these monsters.”

“And what is this wonderful opportunity?” Lt. Colonel Mayla curiously asked.

“Do you know about the theory of Multiverse…?”

“Allen, are you talking about the parallel universes?”

“Excellent. That is right, Ms. Grace. It was a theory that the universe we live in wasn’t the only one out there. It said that, our universe could be just one of an infinite number of universes making up a ‘Multiverse.’”

???

“That is what this is all about."

"The monsters appearing in every part of the world came from these universes. Giant bugs, dragons, beasts, monsters all of them came from different universes.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I have 99.8% assurance that this is real. But the real problem isn’t there…”

“What do you mean?”

“The real problem is, where did these universes come from? Did they exist since the beginning of time?”

“… …”

“Of course not! These universes came to be, because of us…”

“““What?!””” All the people present were shocked upon hearing Allen’s words.

Their expression showing they couldn’t believe what Allen was saying.

“Allen, you mean we made these parallel universes? That’s impossible! More like how could we make it… it’s unscientific!” Ms. Grace voiced out her confusion.

Although she wanted to believe Allen, what he just said was too difficult to do so.

“This is nonsense!” One of the men reflected in the monitor scowled.

“It’s your choice whether you believe it or not, but let me finish my words first… okay?” Allen wasn’t the least bit fazed about their reactions.

“And although it might be hard to believe it what I said is the truth.”

“… …”

Aileen, Alicia, and Ms. Grace’s mouth were half open in amazement.

Major William and Lt. Colonel Mayla looked at Allen in blank surprise.

Only Flor who was drinking her cola maintained her expression. She seemed to have no interest at wherever the monsters came from, or maybe she had heard of it beforehand…probably.

“…Every universe was made up of possibilities or potential. Let’s say, there’s a possibility where I become a military man then there will be a universe where I was a military man. Something along those lines…” Allen shrugged his shoulders with a nonchalant attitude.

“So you’re saying that there is the world out there that held the possibility that monsters exist. And these monsters came from there…”

“Excellent.”

“…but if what you said is true, then I don’t know where you come out of this idea that it’s our fault that they existed. Isn’t it just a given… that they existed because of a mere possibility? Then it’s not our fault, I mean it’s…”

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“That’s where you are wrong.”

“What do you mean?”

“Where did you think these possibilities came from?”

?

“It came from us. It’s because we are thinking that they existed through stories, myths, and legends. Didn’t you noticed that most of the monsters you saw were the same monsters you read about in books or seen in movies.”

“Now that you mention it…”

“That is right. Like those goblins, for example; although there were several differences most of it were similar to the ones I read and seen from movies before.”

Allen nodded his head. “I don’t know if I’m wrong or not but there should be parallel universe or worlds out there that were created by coincidences. They managed to exist because of some factors coincidentally met and overlapped but one thing for sure is that most of the parallel universes are created by us.

We created stories through myths, legends, movies, novels, cartoons and was known by millions of people and that created a possibility that they existed somewhere out there.”

“… …” With those explanations, all the people including those who scowled and called it absurd a while ago immediately shut up.

They still have some doubts but they couldn’t do anything but accept when those reasons spelled out like ABCs.

“Allen, how did you know about this?” He shouldn’t have reached this answer by his own right? That would be nonsensical!

Besides, he wouldn’t feel so sure about it if he just thought about it without confirming it beforehand... right?

He isn’t that stupidly confident about himself.

And most of all, he wasn’t someone who’d shoot without aim.

“I met someone two days ago and managed to find this answer…”

“Someone? Who is this person?”

“An old friend.”

“Could we know the name of this person? Or maybe, meet him?”

Allen shook his head. “That’s impossible… more like I can’t tell you or else I would be punished severely.”

“Punished you severely… what do you mean by that?”

“I don’t know if it’s really true but… she shouldn’t be from this world.”

“Not in this world?” The people were shocked by this revelation.

A person not in this world, it only meant one thing. Not only monsters would appear from a different world but also… humans as well?

However, most of the women present were shock by a different thing. “She…? You mean, this person is a woman?”

What kind of protagonist is this guy?! Why would he know so many women…?

“This guy is really a womanizer…” Aileen murmured bitterly.

“Impossible…” Flor, on the other hand, was worried for a different reason. “… No! As if I can do that! Do you want me to be killed by him…?”

She was muttering something under her breath.

Allen magnificently ignored the women as he calmly sips his milk coffee.

“Mister Allen, there still something I want to know. I heard from Aileen you said that the sixth and seventh wave is different from the others, what did this mean?”

“The Apocalypse will start with the seven days of chaos. In these days, monsters will appear one after another like waves.

Seven days of chaos will be like an adaptation period for us. In these days, monsters will appear by groups and won’t appear simultaneously.

From the first day up to the fifth day, monsters that will appear will range from Lv1 – Lv5. Of course, there would be several cases that a very strong monster will appear very early… this might be the result of the monsters strong powers forcing themselves to enter this world.”

“… …”

“…Sixth day, or the sixth wave, just like what you experience last night, they all become insane and attack every human in the vicinity. As for the seventh wave, the world will tremble and be torn apart.”

“!!?”

“... It means that there will be a strong earthquake that will shake the whole world and tear the ground. A big continent will split apart and the world you know of will be changed into a new one.”

While gripping the handle of her cup, Lt. Colonel Mayla looked at Allen with a sullen face. “What do you mean by changed into a new one?”

“You will know it when the time comes.”

After glancing at Allen who was sitting leisurely in the seat, Lt. Colonel Mayla leaned back on her own seat and let out a bitter sigh.

“Truthfully I’m not here to tell you some fairy tales. I came here to warn you about something.”

“Warn us from what?” A voice through the speaker said.

Its voice held a hint of provocation.

Looking at the monitor displaying a middle-aged man, Allen shrugged his shoulder before turning to look at Major William and the others.

“Tonight at the seventh wave, the islands composing the Philippines will be united again. The Philippines that was known as an archipelago would cease to exist and will be replaced by a single big island or continent.”

“What?!”

“Of course not all the islands will be absorbed. There are several small islands that will be separated but all in all, a new Philippines will exist.”

The people’s eyes opened wide in surprise upon hearing Allen’s words.

“Is, is this what you mean when you said that the world will be changed into a new one?”

“Yeah, that’s right. A big continent like Eurasia, Antarctica, Africa et cetera will split into many different parts; small and big. That’s not all, new islands will appear in thin air…well, let’s not delve into that topic. The problem is, a very strong monster will appear to conquer the Philippines.”

That Mud bastard!

“A monster?”

“Ah, I’m not sure as to what level it would be but at least it’s not lower than Lv6. Oh and don’t underestimate it. It’s more powerful than catching a nuclear missile barehanded. If you think you can win it by just using tanks, missiles, and cannons, then you’re in for a world of pain.”

“What is this monster…?”

“It’s called [ Mud Demon Golem ]. As long as it’s standing on the earth, it will never die even if you cut its limbs a million times.”

“A Mud Demon Golem? Then how would we defeat it?”

“That Mud Bastard is still a monster and not God. It’s bound to have weaknesses like normal beings.

This mud bastard is the same.

Inside of its body lies a core, it should be a fist sized or maybe baseball sized core…probably. Anyway, this core was colored brown and was always covered by thick earth armor that protects it from being destroyed. As long as you destroyed it, you can kill that bastard!”

As for how Allen knows these kinds of things, fortunately, they didn't ask anything else. They had too many things to worry about that they didn't have the time to think about Allen’s out of place knowledge.

“You’re talking as if you’re not going to fight it… why is that?” The middle aged man reflected in the monitor once again spoke.

Just like before, his voice held some provocation.

“You don’t need to worry about it. That mud bastard and I had some issues to settle with and so I’m obviously going to fight…”

“That’s bett---”

“However, Mr. Whatever-your-name-is, that is none of your concern.” Allen’s voice instantly changed into cold one.

His face turned icy.

All the people present in the conference room displayed a trace of astonishment because they suddenly realized that Allen’s temperament was like a woman. It could change in a flash just like flipping a page of a book, the change like the sky and the earth turning upside down.

The previous him they had seen had appeared to be an amiable and easy-going teenager, at this very moment, however …

… he was icily arrogant as if he was a being filled with pride.

“Wha-!?” The middle aged man was surprised that he almost bit his tongue.

“You seemed to be thinking some things about me but let me warn you beforehand. I’m only here because this is my homeland and I was obliged to save her from monsters, only because of the blood running through my veins and not for you.”

“!!!?”

“I am no hero, nor a soldier of yours. I’m also not a good, heroic citizen or a Samaritan. I’m the same as any normal human if I don’t give my best shot.”

And so is my temperament.

“… In fact, only my temperament remained its humanity after all these years. So, please just leave me be.”

“… if you keep bothering me, I will rebel…”

“Don’t make me rebel.”
