Really fast…
A speed to the extent that even Allen who possessed a Godly kinetic vision and reading almost lost sight of Aileen’s figure.
The moment the monster appeared; Aileen immediately accelerated leaving behind all the people present in an instant.
It was incredible... even for Allen's level.
With her extraordinary speed and mobility, Aileen instantly closed in upon the Gorilla that had a boar’s head and had a long scaly tail similar to a lizard in an instant.
Ooooooooh…
The monster with an unknown name which reacted to Aileen’s approach issued a strange noise from its head and let its strong arm howl.
It pulled its fist and let out a blow describing an arc.
…!?
There’s two…?
The fist approached from Aileen’s behind as it came too close.
––But,
…?
The moment when it looked as if the fist had hit, Aileen evaded it without even looking behind.
A minimum movement without too much waste considering it immediately moved after sensing the presence.
She then flipped in the air turning around. Woosh! Two shadows brushed past her.
Sara and Mireya. Sara went towards Aileen’s first target while Mireya pounced towards the right.
Aileen grins as she faced the one who had sneaked attack. She set up her carbine and fired bullets while coolly receiving the sudden gust which arose due to the two’s rapid movement.
Several shots impacted on the monster’s opened underarm and bluish white lights burst.
Guh…! Ooooooooh!?
The monster raised a groan and launched an attack on the other arm, but Aileen did not move.
She raised her fist and met the monster’s hand head-on. Boom! An explosion sounded out.
However, instead of Aileen’s fist, the monster’s arm cracked and bent at a strange angle.
Blood spurted.
She pulled her carbine again and aimed at the monster’s head. The monster could only stare at Aileen in horror before it was rained down by bullets.
Aileen glanced back and saw Sara and Mireya finishing their own fight. Sara finished first while Mireya killed two more monsters.
“I could have handled that…” Aileen smirked.
“Aileen, your too hot-headed, charging like a bull, minus 5 points~” Allen evaluated with a harsh tone.
“Tsk-! What a strict evaluation, more like when did you become an instructor?”
“I just did,” Allen shrugs. He grins wickedly. “Call me, Major– no, Special Lieutenant, Private~”
“Ay, Ay! Private!” Aileen playfully saluted.
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
“Well, then, private, do you know your mistakes?”
“Reporting to Special Lieutenant, sir! I had already noticed the surrounding’s enemy sir! I just baited them to come out since I’m too lazy to wait for them, Sir!” Aileen cried out with a mischievous grin.
Allen sighed. “Whatever, but next time don’t rely on your abilities too much, private! That is not a good thing…”
Aileen shrugs and playfully stuck out her tongue, “Ay Ay sir!”
Allen could only shake his head helplessly.
Led by Imali, a monster aswang who asked for Allen’s help, they were currently inside the forest and on their way towards Imali’s tribe; Danag Kadlaw.
---Allen, Alkrasha who wanted to come, Jayla, Sara, Mireya, Aileen, and Mayla who was asked to come by Allen in order to assist Alkrasha and was also a good additional firepower and lastly, Imali. The group started walking through the forest.
The dense and huge trees seemed to have swallowed up a former city with their growth, almost all the residences were torn up by branches and roots.
The trees were standing so densely together, that they even obstructed the sunlight from coming in.
A pile of broken rubble of what used to be a path or road made up of gravel had now already been torn up and scattered by roots of the huge trees that jutted out from the ground, rendering it impassable to humans.
Only a year ago had passed since the [ Fantasial Apocalypse ] and yet this place seems to have been long abandoned for millennia already. It was hard to imagine that just a year ago, this was still a bustling city!
After encountering and fighting more monsters along the way, the group finally arrived at their destination.
It was a bit out of their expectations as they saw a small village-like place filled with small Nipa houses.
All the houses were made up of wood and bamboos with coconut-weave Nipas for roofs. A civilization you can only see in historical movies where the western influence still hasn’t reach in this country yet.
When they reached the place, Allen and the others saw nothing strange in particular. More like, no matter how you saw them, they all looked like humans.
The only thing different was that they have flashy looking tribal tattoos on their bodies, especially in their faces just like Imali.
They all stared at Allen’s group; doubt, fear, suspicion, curiosity, interest and many other emotions can be seen from their eyes that were as clear as crystal.
As Allen surveyed the entire place, he had noticed that the man-woman ratio in this pace is certainly out-balanced. There were more women than men – Allen guessed that it must have been because all of them were among those who had attacked the city countless times and lost their lives.
Though, aside from Imali, Allen can only see less than ten who were a bit prettier among the rest – but not as much as beautiful that can be plastered in magazines and posters. They have an exotic beauty and charm that only pure Filipinos have; flat noses, black and brown eyes, black hair, round faces, brown skin and yet at the same time, good body proportions and facial features.
They are wearing an only small piece of cloths that covered their chest and lower region – in other words, they seemed to be wearing nothing but bikinis similar to the ones worn in summer. They were exposing too much skin.
Well, this is probably what will happen if the foreign influences hadn’t come into this land…
“My people, I had brought the Monarch…” Imali started talking as she faced the skeptical people.
Her words brought the people’s attraction and they started walking out from their hiding place. Most aswangs were actually vulnerable in the daytime as most of them turned into an ordinary human when the sun was out and shining.
Imali continued talking and eventually, most people started kneeling down in front of them.
“You don’t need to kneel down… I didn’t come here to accept your reverence. We’re only passing by.” Allen spoke indifferently. “However, indeed I may need your help.”
He then thought for a moment. “You can’t push your problems to others and just leave them as it is. This is your problem and not ours… Work something out yourself. I’m neither a Samaritan nor a good man. We can guide you but as to how you free yourself, that is your own entire problem.”
“We will follow the monarch’s decision!!” An old woman cried out as she prostrated.
“That’s good then,” Allen said indifferently. “In any case, we will be visiting, King Manaul… if you want, then come with us and fight for your own freedom.”
As Allen said that, he turned around and led the others towards the direction Imali said to be King Manaul’s kingdom.
He didn’t come here to act all Hero-like; he only visited Imali’s tribe to say those things.
As they say don’t just give a man a fish, teach them how to fish!
Although he quite sympathizes with their situation but, always depending on others is a bad virtue… at least, they should learn that.
Besides, he doesn’t have any interest to stop in this kind of place – just what kind of reception could they show…?
Better to end this thing as soon as possible~
Imali hesitated for a bit before running off, chasing Allen and the others.
The people who were left glanced at each other, complex emotions dying their faces.
Then, one, two, three and more started standing up. They went inside their houses, gathered all the things they could and left, following Allen’s group with determined expressions.
