Chapter 732: [Impending Disaster (2)]
Aileen quickened her footsteps and said in a downcast voice, “It’s most likely the damnable wolves! God, I hope I’m wrong!”
If it is, then how much increase in intelligence did these damn beasts receive? They are already troublesome when they are acting on their instincts but if they still become even smarter, just what kind of abomination would appear?!
Aileen’s mind was in a mess. With rapid footsteps, they left this place quickly, and in just a few moments, they made the final turn before the cave entrance. However, the backs of the two individuals they placed to guard the entrance were bent and shaking as they retreated into the cave step after step!
Aileen directly rushed to the head of the cave without a word and pulled back those two individuals to look outside the cave.
?!!
Her eyes suddenly widened. Reflected within her dark brown pupils were wolves and beasts that crammed everywhere. Their glaring red eyes gleaming like light bulbs.
“Heavens! There are at least three hundred rotting wolves!”
Aileen’s heart suddenly constricted, making her feel as if she couldn’t breathe!
“This!! How is this possible!!”
“My heavens! This is really a trap!!”
“Captain!”
Aileen suddenly smelled a faint fishy stench. The instincts that had been acquired from years of experience made her quickly fall in reverse.
At the same time, she fired at the cave entrance.
A black figure streaked across the air, its sharp teeth tearing at where Aileen’s nape was.
Soon afterward, seven bullets completely ripped apart its stomach!
This was a male wolf that was at least thirty kilograms in weight, and at this moment, it was blasted several meters outwards from the barrage of bullets. After dropping onto the ground, even though almost all of its internal organs seemed to have fallen out, it still struggled to its feet. It staggered towards the cave entrance while releasing an intimidating roar and only stopped when another male wolf snapped its neck with a bite.
Plop!
Aileen’s foot stamps the ground and her figure backflipped. A black shadow flashed beside her, but Aileen’s figure flashed with lightning and she disappeared, even leaving an afterimage.
Baaang! Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
--series of gunshots echoed as Aileen slid down on the ground, her rifle pointed at the beast who had attacked her.
“DIEEEE!!!”
Aileen cried in hysteria and showered the group of beasts that were approaching them. With her slaughter, the people behind her also immediately took up a position and started shooting at the beast horde. Howls and cries of agony and pain resounded in the entire area. Some managed to rushed closer towards them but at this moment, various magic spells started pouring out along with the bullets. Hence, they were still able to maintain a good distance from the beast horde.
Aileen also started to exhibit her nonsensical power and speed, with the rifle on her right and long military dagger on her right, she swam through the beast horde amidst the monsters and bullets flying around. Blood spluttered like a fountain wherever she goes. Her comrades started to make their move as well and chaos bred through almost every direction.
The situation was dire but it has not yet reached the level of despair.
“Make a way!!!”
Aileen cried out towards her subordinates.
The elite group immediately nodded towards her and started to concentrate their attack, walking side by side. Although there were no grave injuries even after fighting intensely for almost have an hour, some of the members of the group have been littered with a small bite and claw marks. As they were desperately making a breakthrough, suddenly at this moment—
… …
Blades carved into flesh and blood sprayed out.
A humanoid beast's head came apart like a watermelon being split at the seaside.
The sound of the sword hit echoed around.
There were howls and roars of beasts facing their dooms and bitter cries of suffering.
Like a train station at rush hour, monsters were pressed against each other everywhere trying to drown Aileen’s group in death. They then casually throw magic attacks and grenades, like they were giving gifts. The attack came from several sides, in several waves.
Nobody could spare a thought for the overall situation. All their attention was focused on the enemy in front of them while they hacked, shoot bullets, launched supernatural abilities, and slashed with their swords and daggers. Of course, some wolves and beasts that were injured pitifully sprawled on the ground, trying to crawl to back down, but they were then trampled into the ground by the monsters behind them. Whether this was a fortune or not, no one cared as they huddled together trying to defend their selves while assisting the others.
At this moment where a friend of them could fall at any moment from an unexpected attack, they dared not let even a moment of rest.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
All of them have come and goes after countless tribulations together and their bonds were already strong as steel.
A loss of a friend is like a cut off a limb.
The originally beautiful snow-white forest due to the thick snow was now wreathed in crimson flame, and the flames that danced like playful spirits rose into the sky filled the world with heat and radiance.
The difficult to count monstrous beasts were ripped to shreds.
Blood flows like rivers, and the ground was strewn with corpses and bodies and remains. The snow-white ground was dyed a reddish-black by dried blood, and the brighter red of freshly-spilled blood flowed from friend and foe alike.
“Julian!!”
A member was clawed on his abdomen and intestines spilled.
Most members were shocked by the sudden attack out of nowhere.
The man named Julian felt his consciousness turned fuzzy and blurry.
I’m dead… Julian thought.
There was no sense of pain, only emptiness.
At this moment,
“Don’t die on me, you idiot!!”
An angry voice rang out under the fading consciousness Julian and in his gradually numbing sense, sweet yet at the same time, scorching taste flooded his mouth and throat. And for some reason, Julian’s fading sense was miraculously coming back.
“Get a hold of yourself!!”
“Cap…tain…?”
Julian woke up from his daze when he felt a stinging pain on his cheek. Aileen actually smack his cheek ruthlessly, he even felt his teeth almost knocked out.
“T-thank you Captain, and sorry,”
“No need to apologize. All of you are amongst the Family’s elites. I feel deeply honored by the fact that you have, even if it is only temporarily, joined my team. And I can say that too many missions we have passed and completed together all of you are the best of the best and even among the courageous ones! But that doesn’t mean I will let you die! One less of you, the Family will grieve and lose her support!”
“Captain…”
Aileen smirked.
“Don’t die on me, boys. I apologize but strictly speaking, I still need you to work till your bones crumble to dust for the safety of the Family!”
She declared with a mischievous grin.
One of the members stop firing and then started laughing, he said: “Captain, you are too modest. The Bianchi Family are all heroes who guard the common people, and it is more accurate to say that it is our honor to be able to enter the guardians of the Family. From the moment we have enlisted into the group, we have been a group of soldiers under your command. Even if we die in duty, there is nothing to fear! For the sake of the Family, we will obey strictly to each of your orders.”
Hearing the declaration, Aileen felt comfortable deep inside.
She thought that the hardship of Mia and the others to protect the people have not really gone in vain!
The Bianchi Family was something every people, especially Superhuman from every part of the world yearned to be a part of. Although if compared to other organizations and countries, Bianchi Family was extremely small. Even still, if compared to power and influence, the Bianchi Family is number one of all groups in the world.
Not only it has many powerful Superhuman gathered together, behind the Family, but there is also one person who was acknowledged as the strongest in the world standing.
Allen Bando.
Known with many names but most used was the name [The Immortal], [Thunder Emperor], [Beast King], and [Transcended Being].
The only one known to have transcended into Godhood!
Remembering Allen brought a beautiful smile to Aileen’s face. Allen was her most proud family member and the superstar of the entire world. Glorifying his name brought her immense satisfaction. Though, she indeed missed him. Unfortunately, she couldn’t go and find him because she also has her own duty and responsibility. Besides, unlike Mia and the others, she and Allen’s relationship are still quite awkward. She doesn’t have the confidence to face him.
Even still… when all of this is over…
Obviously, it was not made public, and only higher-ranking people of every influential organization known about it. It passed as a rumor at first but when it was proven, it caused a great stir at that time.
Ascending to Godhood!
Just how important that was!
In the entire current era, aside from Allen Bando, no one has ascended yet.
Even those KINGs who came from the well-known DAWN Alliance.
They all are trapped in the level and couldn’t break through no matter how many monsters they had killed and slaughtered. They even tried to ask the Bianchi Family for some information needed to break through, but Mia barely understands it. All she knows was that this is the limit set by the world, and inviolable!
Though, not like she could answer honestly even if she knows.
After all, she harbors strong detest and dislike for most of the DAWN Alliance. Her hatred for them is still rooted deep within her bones.
Although the man himself is not present in the current world now, however, no one dared to have the guts to mess with the Bianchi Family. Not only due to the fear of the [The Immortal] but also because, the Bianchi Family possesses incredible wealth, treasures, and technology that should not exist yet in the present era but was made possible due to the connection with the said [The Immortal].
Bianchi Family had become the center of the world so to speak.
Often, they would auction some high-class items and treasures that all the people are scrambling to possess. Most of these items are considered God-level that cannot be made by the present means, as well as the materials, can only be seen in the so-called Land of the Gods.
And so, the importance of the Bianchi was raised to another pedestal.
A stage where no one dared to be compared.
They didn’t dare touch such a behemoth!
If someone did, they would face the entirety of the world itself!
Because of this, second only to the infamous [The Immortal], the Bianchi Family has also been raised into the highest platform and had become the dream workplace for all humanity. However, although talents are now popping out like cabbages in the world. The Bianchi Family is not interested in absorbing all of them. And Aileen knows the reason for it, and even think that it was better this way.
Even if these proud and talented people were the force of mankind and are extremely useful to defend the Family, would they actually obey orders?
The increase in power didn’t only raise the ability of people but also their egos and selfishness. And when this happens, they would start to veer off course to the path of the Family wanted to tread and might even cause to raise a conspiracy within. That would be troublesome.
In fact, during the expansion of the Family, it was never a smooth-sailing one. There are many people who wanted to take a piece of the pie and rise in power. It would have been fine if it was an outsider but the worst thing to happen is that the one you shared blood with or have a close connection for a very long time, would actually turn their blades at you. That is one of the biggest heartaches of the people.
Even if it was to someone like Mia.
There were some relatives of Mia who had wanted to swallow her and the entire Family. If not for the fact that Mia had lived for a dozen years of tribulations and conspiracy compared to normal people, she would have been battered to death without knowing how.
This is also the reason why she had become even busier these past few years, without even knowing how to rest. If it was not for her high power level, she would have died of overwork a long time ago. Well, in this aspect, the foundation she had laid before creating the Bianchi Family after the Cataclysm had finally laid fruit.
Talented and Loyal retainers and faithful subordinates. With them, the moment a conspiracy brewed over, Mia was able to immediately react. Thus, with her hard work and the loyalty of her people, unlike most Organizations in the world, the Bianchi Family was as solid as steel as ever.
However, because of this as well, the Bianchi Family cannot just absorb outsiders carelessly.
Mia and the rest of the high ranking leaders know how complicated the wirings in a person’s head is. However, one thing is certain is that these wirings lead one way or another into the aspect of [Preservation]. Meaning only benefits to oneself would they think for themselves!
Then, how could it be done…?
Power!
Influence!
Money!
To be in the safest region…one must stand above others!
That is what humans innately are!
