Chapter 721: [Set Sail! (2)]

The storm had died down after a few hours, leaving behind only a dreary fog that seemed to get even thicker by the minute.

Asmodeus peered over the side of the Mischievous Wench, staring out at what little could be seen. She noted the sharp rocks that seemed to jut out at every side, and the various ghost and figures trapped within the frozen river, ramming their fists behind the surface of the icy water all while screaming for help and freedom.

But to a miraculous phenomenon, although the river looked frozen stiff, the Mischievous Wench was still sailing smoothly as if the surface was not frozen at all.

A miraculous occurrence!

At this moment, the Mischievous Wench suddenly began to shake violently.

“Be careful!”

Allen shouted as he grasped Asmodeus.

Meter long Icicles shot towards the deck of the Mischievous Wench.

A sharp whistle came from outside.

“Enemy attack!

A Centaur rushed into the captain’s room and shouted, “Captain sir, Sea Ghosts are coming! More than one!”

Sea Ghost…

Allen frowned as he heard the report.

As he walked out of the cabin, he could see more than a dozen fish monsters with crustacean legs entering the deck, and some that were still climbing up the two sides of the Mischievous Wench. With their six legs, they moved fast and nimble like cockroaches, wielding a humanoid arm on both sides of their head; their humanoid arms had an amazing strength, which could easily break one’s neck, even if it is a demon.

What’s more, the head of these bastards was humanoid—beasts from the same lair as the Bloodthirsty Ghouls.

“Scurry rats! Disgusting and detestable! Tornus! What are they doing on my ship?!”

Allen cried out in anger as he turned towards the Centaur that was the current leader of the crew aside from him and Asmodeus.

“Forgive me, Captain, the pests are too troublesome to completely chase away!”

Tornus replied with an apologetic face.

“But fret not sire, I'll keep these scallywags at bay with the point of me blade!”

"Well, then. That certainly makes things easier."

Allen snorted.

“Now Tornus, kindly throw them away from my ship!”

“Aye, sir!”

… …

The battle was quite unexpectedly irksome.

The Sea Ghosts poured into the ship like a never-ending broken faucet and scraped out a significant amount of the crew. Not only that, the Sea Ghosts not only attack them but also turned their filthy claws towards the Mischievous Wench.

Fortunately, the Mischievous Wench was not any ordinary ship, as the ship itself could be said to be a monstrosity itself, similar to the infamous Davy Jone’s Flying Dutchman of the Caribbean, possessing quite a punch.

Hence, Allen and Asmodeus were forced to enter the battle and even caused him to summon another stronger men, undead, and golems to man the ship and exterminate the seemingly limitless pests. However, since they are at the deck of the ship, Allen and Asmodeus avoided using destructive magic as much as possible, and could only use a sword to fight.

Although he could repair the Mischievous Wench, it was still better for it to be undamaged!

Then, the sound of another loud crash could be heard!

And with it, the loud voice of the screeching sea ghost also came to an abrupt end. Allen appeared out of thin air, as behind him four to five sea ghosts were cut into half before melting into water and then eventually disappearing without a trace. On his hand was rebellion, gleaming with a black light.

Unlike the weapons and attacks of all people within the deck, Allen’s Rebellion was the most lethal against the Sea Ghosts as it was purely an Anti-Demon Sword.

Even if they have the ability to regenerate, once their bodies been severed by its blade, they would crumble into nothingness. Nothing is an exception.

“Hm?!”

As Asmodeus was continuing her onslaught, suddenly at this moment, she felt her hair standing on end.

It was obvious that this aura was not something a single mere Sea Ghost was capable of producing—however, there wasn’t even enough time for Asmodeus to see the enemy at her back, because she was currently facing dozens around her.

Just when she was about to turn around, a sound of explosion suddenly rang in her ears.

Baaang!

A flame suddenly appeared and disappeared in mid-air. Following after was a wave of shimmers in the air and the ghost monster who possessed a peculiar physique trembled.

“A Variation of Sea Ghost, now that’s savvy~”

Allen appeared beside her holding the Demon Pistol; Ebony on his left hand, pointing the muzzle at the large Sea Ghost. The bullet shot from the firearm smashed the side of its face into pieces.

Blue colored blood-like murky water began to spurt out from its ghastly face. With a loud thud, the creature fell down to the ground. Following this, Asmodeus saw Allen’s black cloak fluttering in the wind.

Following this, the second gunshot rang!

Another Sea Ghost that was preparing to leap over at them, standing at the railing of the deck exploded. The five, seven, and many more gunshots rang forth and dozen Sea Ghosts toppled over, all of them killed with a shot each.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Then, Allen leaped from the deck of the Mischievous Wench and stood at the top of the figurehead which was in the image of a beautiful female sculpture that seemed to resemble that of the Ice Queen, holding a sword and pointing it at the sky. His eyes fierce cold and both arms blazing in flames.

“Fire Wings!”

Allen waved his arms towards each side of the Mischievous Wench and in an instant, two columns of blazing flames shot around the ship, burning the Sea Ghosts that had surrounded the Mischievous Wench.

The screaming and wailing of ghastly cries echoed and just as Allen expected when he did… the River of Lamentation beneath the ship shivered as if rattled… then the Cocytus that was keeping her silent shot angrily at Allen, seemingly wanting to curse him to eternal damnation within the freezing inferno.

A large swirling column of freezing water appeared behind him, like an angry serpent, shooting towards the Mischievous Wench.

However, as if Allen didn’t notice the danger from behind, he continued to surround the Mischievous Wench in a ring of fire, burning the Sea Ghosts that came closer.

CRYAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

But before the Cocytus hit Allen's exposed back, a loud shrieking, like a woman’s mournful scream, echoed from behind him. Then, Allen felt a massive pressure akin to that of a mountain trying to crush him appeared. A translucent silhouette of a beautiful woman appeared behind him, glaring at the swirling column of waters.

She was emitting an icy cold chill, not less inferior than the Cocytus itself. Her translucent snow-white hair on her forehead glimmering under light and her long eyelashes occasionally trembling, made her look extremely moving yet somehow appearing detached to the stains present within the world.

Pure, Holy, and Noble. Yet, the most extraordinary part was her sapphire eyes, which were still as blue as a clear lake even under the reflection of the fierce glow of Cocytus in front of her.

“Begone, Beast of the Frozen Hell!”

A soundless voice echoed like rippling waves of the ocean.

Along with the cold voice, a gust of cold wind struck the serpent-like column of water, completely stopping it from its advances, and freezing it till the surface of the water. Then, it crumbles into a thousand pieces.

The surface of the River of Lamentation wriggled, looking like a living being, but it didn’t dare to attack anymore due to the appearance of the Ice Queen glaring at it from above.

As for Allen, he was not interested in the happenings behind him and just focused all his attention on the Sea Ghosts that were besieging the Mischievous Wench from every direction.

After a while, the Sea Ghosts finally stopped coming, probably due to the Cocytus who was being overwhelmed by the Ice Queen’s presence.

Allen killed his flames and the Mischievous Wench suffered only a slight burn and damage but it can easily be repaired. Gently landing in the deck, he immediately ordered the crew of the ship to clean the aftermath and assess the damage of the Mischievous Wench.

“Annoying bastards…”

Allen sneered.

Because the Sea Monsters were mindless beasts and the monsters of the Five Rivers, even his [King’s Rule] would be ineffective to these tiny creatures—it seems like the journey towards DESPARA, the Imperial Demon City would not be that smooth sailing.

"Well, it would be boring otherwise,"

Allen smiled with a playful expression.

… …

And just as he expected, the voyage was quite a stormy one for the Mischievous Wench.

Not only River Ghosts or Ghouls constantly appeared, but there were also Hell Beasts.

“This is absurd !!”

Beside the Mischievous Wench, almost over the top of it, a Hell Beast appeared.

On the deck, all the faces of the living crew, save for the Undead Skeleton Sailors, turned green while staring at it.

They didn’t take this into account. In the absence of the wind, encountering a Hell Beast is normal. Most of the times, it will appear far away from any ghost ship, that was normal, even Tornus thought this would be the case. After all, Beasts of the Rivers of Hell would not dare get into conflict with the ferrymen as they are the Guardians of the five rivers, even if they are mindless. And this ship was one of those that possess the blessing of the ferrymen.

They would avoid it and the Hell beast would be too lazy to catch up to them. But this time it directly came from under them.

No, in fact, all this time, whether it was the River Ghosts or the Beasts inhabiting the Devil’s Vein, they all rush towards the Mischievous Wench as if they are attracted to it—and this caused Tornus and the other sailors to realized that the problem is not the World but the one who had been crowned Captain of this ship!

It seems like, their Captain is one hell of a Popular Man!

The Hell Beast suddenly appeared beside the Mischievous Wench.

The shock caused by its appearance made the ship sway. All the Undead and Centaur Sailors moved to the deck directly. Then their expression suddenly stiffened. Cold sweat dyed their back and horror was evident on their faces.

“This is bad! … Really bad!”

In the Mischievous Wench, most Centaur Sailors made this kind of trip before. It’s not their first time in the River of Hell, but facing such a situation was a first for them.

The appearance of the Hell Beast made them turn pale.

After all, even if they are long dead already, once swallowed by the Hell Beast, that would be like being cast away to the deep abyss!

If they encountered a small Hell Beast then they could just chase it away.

But if they saw a large or a giant one they would directly flee.

After all, Hell Beast is also known as Hell Devourers—they are not something a dozen demons could contend to, much less defeat! Their power exceeds that of an ordinary Knights of Hell—to even think of defeating it, one needed four to five Knights of Hell, a Prince of the Demons to make a move. That was how terrifying and powerful Hell Beasts are…!

All the people present on the ship, including the unfeeling skeletons, couldn’t help but turn stiff in this situation. They can feel the terrifying demonic aura coming from the Hell Beast, like frogs being stared by a deadly snake!

Their forehead overflowed with cold sweat while they didn’t dare move even a little

After some time the Hell Beast roared, and attacked the ship without care. it used the tens of meter long tentacles to strike fiercely at the ship. Before the tentacle even reaches them, the wind pressure coming from them was already suffocating enough.

The overwhelming power comes crashing at them.

In the face of such a strike, the crowd holding sword and spears couldn’t move. They were numb due to fear. Al their hearts were cold and desperate as they watched the huge tentacles coming on them.

However, the next moment the tentacles didn’t fall on the Mischievous Wench.

“You dare touch my Wench with your filthy paws, you’re seeking death, beast!”

Allen appeared out of nowhere, He was standing in the air with a frowning expression.

With a fierce expression, he directly kicked the Hell Beast’s huge tentacles. As for the air pressure, it disappeared in the next moment.

Boom!

At the time when the two sides collided, they generated a terrifying wave of the Hell River. The Hell Beast once again roared in anger. It seems that the tentacle that could destroy any large warship, much less the Mischievous Wench was blocked and even sent back with a kick from Allen who had such a small body.

Allen, who was thinking of acting like a pirate in the world after he gets back using this Mischievous Wench, and sailing through the seven seas, taking the ship with the utmost care and even feared that one damage will destroy the ship, was truly mad. A Hell Beast actually bothered them, and tried to destroy it his pirate ship?

Allen simply couldn’t tolerate this.

He was really upset. He was dreaming to become a Pirate King someday…!

And yet… a bastard who couldn’t read the mood appeared!

After kicking the tentacle of the Hell Beast, Allen didn’t stop there, Rebellion materializes in his hand and then waved at the Hell Beast.

“Do you fancy a swim with Davy Jones, Beast?"

Instantly, red crescent-shaped sword energy shot toward the Hell Beast from the Rebelllion’s blade. The Hell Beast’s skin was tough and no sword can pierce through it usually, but under Allen strike, it was as fragile as paper. The strike directly passed through the Hell Beast, while the Hell Beast couldn’t utter a sound.

Silence.

A blood’s line appeared on the body of the Hell Beast. It stretched for tens of meters. Crash! The next moment, strange black blood from the Hell Beast dyed the River of Lamentation, issuing a sizzling sound and burning smoke. The Mischievous Wench was in silence. It didn’t take that long, from the appearance of Allen until the defeat of the Hell Beast.

After that, all the people on the Mischievous Wench started buzzing. They were too shocked by what they just witnessed.

Strong!

Too strong!

No one among them has ever seen such a scene before. This is the Hell Beast, one of the top predators and extremely powerful creatures within the Demon World, that even the noble Great Families feared.

And it was actually killed as easy as that?

Just who was this new Captain of theirs?

… …
