Chapter 47: [ Aftermath ]

Chapter 47: [ Aftermath ]

Disasters struck in every part of the world. Not part was overlooked.

Thankfully, the heavens still possess a bit of conscience as the disaster only lasted for a full entire hour and the whole world calmed down.

Like a raging wild beast becoming tired and slept, the wind and storm regained its tranquility and the ground turned still.

The whole event was nothing as weak as what Allen had said. This caused Aileen, Lt. Colonel Mayla, and Major William to have an urge to punch the living daylights out of him.

The whole hour was filled with thrill and breathtaking experience that anyone wouldn’t want to experience again.

It was so intense but then as quickly as it started, everything stops.

Everything is quiet again.

A sea of shattered glass covered the sidewalks. Some people limped, some sobbed, but all were stunned by the spine-tingling event that just happened.

Automobiles were snarled along the place.

Buildings had collapsed, water mains burst and land lines offered no service.

The crowd was livid and trembling. Some people retained in the depths of their horrified mind an uncanny impression of a shuddering world.

But even so, they know that they are lucky to be alive.

Allen looked behind him. It was already filled with dazed people.

His gaze then turned towards Ms. Grace and the others.

"You okay?" Allen threw them a quick, boyish grin.

“Y, yeah… I’m okay.”

“Mister Allen, didn’t you said that this wouldn’t be a strong earthquake? Why do I feel as if it was almost 9.3 magnitude?”

“Oh is that so?” Allen showed a surprised expression but anyone could see the fakeness within it. “But we had survived, right? Then, there’s no problem~”

This rascal!! Looking at that face, all the people cursed inwardly.

Allen ignored their burning stairs and looked at the [ Titan Ape ] standing on guard. The biggest reason why people managed to survive without serious injuries was mainly that of this big guy.

In order to not shame the name of his master, he obeyed his order with utmost attention. The building that collapses was slap away, vehicles that ended up flying towards them were caught and tossed away. The Strong wind that could blow children was shielded by its huge body, creating a perfect asylum.

Thanks to him, there were no casualties.

Allen was completely satisfied with its performance.

When Allen waved a hand towards it, the [ Titan Ape ] immediately happily walked towards him. When it stepped, the ground quaked.

Groaaa!

It roared at Allen. It looked like a child suffering from injustice and it is reporting the grievances with its parents.

“I know, it must have been hard. Come on, return and take a rest.” While saying so, Allen raised the monster ball and it immediately opened, swallowing the [ Titan Ape ].

“Allen, what is that?” Aileen asked curiously upon seeing the monster ball.

“It’s called [ Monster Ball ]. It was based on an anime…”

“P*kemon!” Alicia exclaimed.

At Allen’s answer, Alicia visibly brightened.

That anime was extremely famous and the cute monster was lovable that every girl would find them cute.

“Right, so you could catch a monster by using that?” Alicia also knows about it and asked in shock.

It was a very good item if that is really true!

“Of course. Though catching is never that easy…”

“Mister Allen, where can you get something like that?” Lt. Colonel Mayla was extremely interested.

Catching and taming monsters is very tempting.

Think about it, if you have an army of monsters at your call, it would be awesome!!

“…you can acquire it from a special crystal… though that requires excessive luck.” Allen couldn’t say anything about Lucy or else he will suffer a very severe punishment.

“Crystals… is it.” Lt. Colonel Mayla seemed to have expected it as he only nodded her head.

Though disappointment still color her face.

“…Mister Allen, how many of these things you currently have? Are all of them having monsters inside?” Major William asked.

“Currently I have ten and only one of them is occupied.” Allen honestly answered.

Something like this is not so important to keep a secret.

“But, only one…what about that little mouse… and this monster? Didn’t you say only one?” Major William pointed at lightning and then to Silver.

“I don’t need to use monster ball for them. They are already my companions.”

“Oh, if that’s the case… Mister Allen, could we buy those monster balls? You know no matter what the price…” Lt. Colonel proposed.

Her eyes sparkling with hope.

“Nope, I need them.” …but that hope was crushed in an instant. She could only give up and pout in annoyance.

It seemed like her charm isn’t working at all… ( T_T)

While talking, a squall burst, laden with rain.

--- ---

That night seemed almost forever.

The people are tired but they had no choice but to still work and set their tents wherever they could. But with huge rubbles and debris, it would certainly take a very long time.

And so, with no other choice, together with the soldiers, Allen let out Ape again to help clean the place out. Of course, Allen was also doing it… his show of strength almost made the people faint.

His strength was really inhuman.

That would be what you expect to a Lv3 superhuman.

Lifting rubbles as big as a car and throwing trees was nothing.

With his superhuman strength as well as the help of his [ Monster King ]s innate ability; [ Monster Morph ], he could transform into a [ Titan Ape ] much to the surrounding people’s shock and lift those things far bigger and heavier for his current strength.

[ Monster Morph ] is an ability to transform into monsters, as well as use the abilities, traits, and appearance of monsters by rearranging their own DNA structure from the lowest to the highest.

However, on his current level, his ability is limited to only monsters that the user had bonded and they wouldn’t be able to transform into something they didn’t have.

List of transformations Allen currently have; 1. [ Lightning Mouse ] 2. [ Sigbin ] 3. [ Titan Ape ].

[ Monster King’s Prestige ], [ Monster Empathy ], [ Monster Telepathy ], and [ Monster Morph ]. This was only four of the basic innate abilities a Lord Class [ Monster King ] possess.

The King of Monsters, the ruler of beasts… this class is one of the best classes that ever existed.

Aside from its powerful innate abilities, the user possesses the right to rule! To dominate! And to control!

- Although with his [ Goro Goro no Mi ], Allen rarely uses his class abilities.

--- ---

After the nightmare caused by the seven days of chaos finally subsided, the people slowly regained their calm and now we're getting used to the world’s changes.

Monsters attack every now and then but it was repelled by the soldiers as well as the super humans living in the camp.

Flor and Lieri whose strength is clearly above the norm as well as Aileen and Alicia whose power was slowly catching up.

And lastly, the person deemed as the strongest and was treated as the Camp’s guardian; Allen Bando.

With these people, the life in Camp was gradually becoming better.

--- ---

Lieri followed Allen into his room.

Allen tosses a few things in his hands onto the sofa and suddenly asked: “Lieri, how long are you going to stay here?”

It has already been four days since Lieri arrived in the camp. Allen at first, expected for her to return immediately after receiving the silver crystals but he was mistaken.

Lieri stayed, supporting Allen and even taken initiative to take good care of his daily needs such as; meals, cleaning the room, clothes and even Maslow's hierarchy of needs was taken over by her;

Food, water, warmth, rest, security, sense of belongingness, and even esteem needs like praise…

It was the feeling of having a servant or a maid beside you.

“What? Did the young master dislike my presence here?”  Lieri teased as she shuts the door.

“No, it’s not like that. More like I appreciate your presence here. It’s as if I have come back into those times…”

“Then, I’m happy for being of use.” Lieri face was full of smile.

Those words were like music to her ears.

“I’m planning to stay for a week before returning back to the Mistress side. I’m sure she wouldn’t be against it…”

“Is that so…”

Allen takes off his black parka and conveniently tosses it to her:

“Help me hang it up.”

Then he goes to the bathroom to wash his hands.

Lieri wordlessly hangs up the parka.

Allen also washed his face and walks out, looking at Lieri who looked like a happy newly weeded wife; a smile crept on his face.

Lieri was a very beautiful woman and in addition, her loyalty and her good personality make her the perfect ideal woman.

Allen asked her out once but he was rejected, saying that she won’t enter any relationship before she could assure Mia and Leon’s wellbeing.

But even so, she didn’t act distant after rejecting him.

Instead, she looked out for him more than ever, looking at his back and protecting whenever there is a raid or a mission.

He knows that she loved him but rejected him because of her duty.

Compared to her feelings, she prioritized her obligation and responsibility more.

Allen respected that and never blames her.

But that was all in the ‘Past’.

Would she still love him… just like she did in that world…?

Allen shook his head and erased these thoughts in his head.

Even if she did, Allen currently has no space for something like love.

The time won’t wait for him…

“Is something wrong…?” Lieri noticed Allen lost in thought and asked.

Allen shook his head and smiles: “It’s nothing…”

For some reason, his smile gives Lieri Goosebumps. She said hurriedly: “Oh…okay…”

Allen was slightly embarrassed but he reacted smoothly and walked naturally towards the sofa.

This wasn’t his room before.

That room disappeared along the destruction from the great earthquake caused by the seventh wave three days ago. This new room was made from wood and bamboo, giving a nice earthly atmosphere.

“Young Master, it should be noon already… what do you want to eat?”

“Anything.”

“As you wish,” But before Lieri could open the door, an explosion could be heard from outside.

The giant shockwave from the explosion blasted the wooden window open. The entire floor was shaking and the dust on top of the ceiling pillars constantly fell down.

A sharp alarm blared out.

“Young master.” Lieri looked at Allen.

Her complexion changed greatly.

“Let’s have a look.” All stood up while looking through the window.

Allen’s face was unusually serious. He could feel something… a very familiar presence.

Who could it be…?

While feeling curios, Allen took the black parka and wore it again.

Who came?

--- ---

A scream tore through the sky. The sharpness of the sound sounded like a bug screaming, piercing through the day.

The sound was unnerving and hateful for those who heard it, making them feel frustrated and irritated.

But for some reason, this sound was a little familiar to Allen.

After leaving the house, he immediately looked towards the direction where it came from.

“Monsters!! Monsters attack!!”

When the soldier saw the happenings outside the door, he started to shake in fear.

Above the camp, countless flying-type monsters flew across the sky. Most of it was bug type monsters that looked like beetles, mantis, giant mosquitoes and et cetera.

Everyone could see the ripples in the air and the screech of the flapping of wings. Allen’s eyes, with the copied skill [ Enhanced Vision ] from the Insect Queen, could clearly see the horror floating in mid-air.

Within the span of his vision, he discovered that there were at least tens of thousands of different flying-type monsters that were circling about in the sky.

Flying about at the highest altitude were giant eagles and humanoid monsters with feathery wings as arms.

[ Harpy ].

A rapacious monster from Greek and Roman Mythology, described as a female monster with a body and face of a woman but the four limbs was that of a bird.

They said that, a harpy could create a strong gale with its feathery wings and possess claws that could shred steel in pieces.

And most importantly, the weakest among these types of monsters was at least level 3.

Allen frowned as he looked at the scene. However, suddenly, his ears picked up the sound made by another type of animal.

It was very faint, but in his ears, it was extremely distinct. It made all the hairs stand up on his body.

That was the sound of crawling made by Giant Spiders, one of the most troublesome bug-type monsters.

With a bad premonition, Allen leapt onto the roof and scanned the whole camp. His heart suddenly pounded…

There were countless… dozens, or maybe hundreds of Giant Spiders thickly dotting the entire expanse of the city, converging on Camp Leon Kilat.

These Giant Spiders which had never like daylight and always stayed on the dark places had all strangely left their nest in full force, and were attacking Camp Leon Kilat.

There are also giant ants among them, crawling while breathing fire.

Allen frowned.

Just what is going on here?! Why are they attacking this place?

If not due to deliberate temptation, it was impossible for so many monsters to leave their nest, and it was even more impossible for all of them to hunt for food in Camp Leon Kilat.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Todododododo!!

Tarararararararara!!!

At this moment, Allen could hear gunshots from the distance.
