Chapter 46: [ Seventh Wave ]

Chapter 46: [ Seventh Wave ]

It was already deep in the night.

In the vast training ground of Camp Leon Kilat, every people could be seen gathering together. The usual tents and shacks disappeared and only the sea of people could be seen.

They were surrounded by soldiers, looking stern and serious.

In front of this crowd was a group of people.

It would be a normal group if not for the eye catching black clothed youth whose name had already resounded in the entire camp. Beside him was a monster that could only be seen in legend, [ Sigbin ] and on his left shoulder was a small yellow monster.

“Mister Allen, are we going to be alright?” Major William asked worriedly.

“Hm?”

“You said that the whole continent will move and the world will change… but are we going to be safe here?”

Allen casually nodded. “It’s not really that strong, at most the quake would be at a magnitude of 7.9, the weakest at 6.1.”

“But you said that the whole island will move, how would it be that weak?” Lt. Colonel Mayla joined the conversation.

“If it was really that strong as what you imagine, most of the people would have died by it… but fortunately, it’s not the case. Truthfully I don’t know how it happened but aside from the quake and other disasters, you wouldn’t feel anything amiss the whole time. It’s as if something magical is at work, making the whole ride as peaceful as it can be.”

“… …” listening to Allen, every people couldn’t help but frown. They suddenly felt something didn’t fit.

Alicia timidly tugged at Allen’s clothes and asked, “Allen, why do know everything? And why are you talking as if you had experienced this before…?”

When this question appeared, all of the people; except Lieri who was quietly standing by Allen’s side, finally realized something.

That’s right! They hadn’t realized it before because Allen was always surprising them causing them to start becoming numb from it. He seemed to know everything that they didn’t find it any surprise that he also know something like this.

But how did he know that?

“…Mister Allen, are you by chance a clairvoyant? Or maybe you’re the same with the rumored Divination Princess?”

The edges of Allen’s lips bent upward.

“I’m not and I don’t have that kind of skill…”

“… …”

“…but I, no, we just know. I and Mia were just kinda similar people who know some things. We don’t have an ability to see or even predict the future…” except for one future… and that future is something we are trying to avoid with all our best.

“The future isn’t set in stone.”

The moment Allen finished his words, lightning suddenly hug Allen’s neck and the dogs and animals, even silver started pacing back and forth, barking loudly, and shaking the way they do during a thunderstorm.

The surrounding people then noticed how quiet everything was – no birds chirping, no leaves moving and even the cicadas that are usually noisy is now strangely quiet.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise in the distance. The people then felt a jolt and fall forward or backward. They felt the ground moving underneath them.

It’s an earthquake!

The start of the seventh wave!

The people felt as if they are riding a boat on a stormy night. The crowd couldn’t continue standing tall and they all stagger and fell on the ground.

But this couldn’t be blamed on them, as underneath them, several gigantic pieces of earth were pushing past each other.

Powerful shocks exploded up through the underground layers of dirt and rock.

All across the city, streets ripped open. Buildings swayed. Walls crumbled and houses came crashing down.

This includes the building inside the Camp. As cracks crawled like spider webs while making eerie sounds. Broken glass, hunks of wood, and piles of cemented walls tumbled into the place.

Thinking about the earthquake drills that they practice every now and then, the soldier’s one by one ordered the crowd to put their hands over their head.

Everything is moving, the women and children started screaming and crying. The army dogs are barking loudly, and the earth sounds like a pounding drum.

A huge piece of wall fell, just missing a group of soldiers by a few feet, causing a panic in the crowd.

Among the people panicking, only one person was abnormally calm.

And this person was the black clothed young man who was swaying along the ground and yet not falling at all. He looked like a mirage, an illusion as he casually took a small metal ball.

This action didn’t bypass the other's eyes as they looked at Allen curiously while hugging their heads with their hands. They crouched on the ground but still, little by little they crawled towards Allen’s side.

It seemed like; they all felt that Allen’s side was the safest place for them to be.

The small metal ball suddenly turned bigger and became a baseball sized metal ball.

The next thing happened was, Allen, throw it in the air.

Under complex gazes, the metal ball suddenly opened and a light could be seen flying from it.

This light turned into a huge silhouette and then under the dumbfounded looks of the surrounding, it transformed into an over three story sized huge monster.

Silence, a death-like silence!

Everyone in the field looked at the silvery monster that looked like a gorilla in shock. Their facial expressions were colorful and soon, countless deep breaths resonated throughout the field!

The people next to Allen had faces full of incredulity. What is this? Another monster? And it’s freaking huge!!!

It was the [ Titan Ape ].

The [ Titan Ape ] drummed its chest with its hand as if expressing his mighty return. After a moment, it bent down on one knee and lowered its head in greeting to Allen!

It wasn’t threatening him but showing his piety.

Everyone was flabbergasted. The eyes of the people behind Allen almost popped out from their sockets. It took them a long time to calm their hearts.

Anything that happens around Allen doesn’t seem that surprising anymore.

Allen looked at the [ Titan Ape ] with a satisfied smile.

“Ape, you will protect these people from any falling debris… understand?”

Roooaarrr!

“Very good,”

After listening to his orders, the [ Titan Ape ] walked towards the back, standing on the side like a loyal guard.

Taking a deep breath to calm their shock, the crowd tried hard to keep their voice calm but a couple of tremors could still be heard.

Looking at the colossal monster, the originally noisy field had gone deathly quiet. No one even rustled their clothing or fidgeted. Everyone felt a chill from their asses all the way up to their spine!

In the crowd, the women and children who are crying covered their mouth as their face was frozen in a moment of incredible shock. Even babies stopped their cries and looked fearfully at the monster.

In Allen’s side, not one could hide their shock from the appearance of the monster. Even Lieri who had known about Allen’s class from Mia and expected for him to have some tamed monsters was also started… a huge monster?

This one was certainly a Lv5 monster!

If she isn’t wrong then the threat she could feel from it, was the same from the Lv5 monsters she had encountered before or maybe even higher…

You got to be kidding me!!

With complex emotions, she stared at the young man calmly standing amidst the shaking ground while a thought popped up in her head: Just how many trump cards is he hiding!?

In Milan, Italy.

A huge group of people was gathered in a vast clearing area. No buildings, houses, and trees could be seen in the radius of a hundred meters away from the group.

In front of this huge crowd were two women standing side by side.

“Mia, are we really going to be okay?” one woman asked. Her face full of worries.

“It's fine, I’m here so nothing bad would happen to you.” The girl beside her said with confidence.

These two girls were; the tyrant princess of the Bianchi Family, Mia Bianchi and Allen’s beloved big sister, Layla Bando.

“But,”

“Actually you don’t need to worry about anything. I have demolished the buildings and trees in this place for that reason. So there would be no falling debris, rubbles or anything that could cause harm. This place we are currently standing has no faults too so even if it’s a strong earthquake, there’s no danger what-so-ever.

We only need to endure the shaking a bit and then it’s done. As for the underground headquarters, nothing would happen to it. It was made from dozens of shock absorbers, metal encased walls and sturdy foundation. It would even survive a nuclear explosion.

However, as a precaution, we need to stay here.”

“Okay…”

After talking, it happened.

The floor beneath them rose and fell like ocean waves.

Layla subconsciously clung to Mia as she rocked and lurched like a giant teeter-totter.

She fell backward and watched in dazed horror as huge spider web-like cracks appeared on the ground.

Earthquake! Layla struggles to her feet and staggered while the earth continued its unbridled dance.

Her heart thumped at the sound of screams behind them. The shuddering earth convulsed relentlessly throughout Milan, or even the whole world right now.

Nature's awesome power was reducing the most imperturbable to quivering gelatin.

In Japan.

At first, the wave was tiny.

It was just a ripple in the huge Pacific Ocean. But it was moving quickly, faster than a jet.

And as it got closer to Japan’s coast, it got bigger. It grew and grew until it was a monstrous wall of water, dozens of feet high, hundreds of miles long.

The people hiding in the coastline could only watch in horror as it destroyed everything in its path.

The wave smashed into crowded cities, knocking down buildings, swallowing monsters and houses along its owners, chewing up highways and bridges.

It washed away beautiful villages, flattening pine forests and turning rice fields into seas of mud and garbage.

Boats, yacht, trucks, cars, motorbikes, all tumbled like dices into the streets, smashing into shops and homes.

Kyaaaa!!

Screaming sounds and wailing like banshees could be heard as the anger of the sea smashed the earth. Despair and death could be smelled from the place.

Hawaii.

BOOM!

BOOM!

With two shattering explosions, Mauna Loa erupted.

Thousands of pairs of eyes turned toward the mountain, staring in shock and terror.

As the earth continued to tremble, black, billowing smoke and ash gushed out of the mountain’s gaping mouth as if the earth was expressing its impending wrath.

Mauna Loa roared like a furious beast, breathing smoke and flames into the sky, shaking the earth.

At this moment, it looks like the worst monster anyone could imagine. A monster that is called… [ Nature’s Wrath ]!

… And then came an even bigger cloud, shooting out billions of hot, jagged rocks that rained down on cities, filling fountains, crushing roofs, and pounding down on people as they tried to flee, screaming in panic.

People and monsters alike watched in horror as the sky turned pitch black.

A blizzard of ash poured down, swirling up her nose and making it almost impossible to breathe. Hot rocks pelted from the mountain like bullets shooting down from the sky.

Every breath was like inhaling fire.

But the terror was just beginning.

The eruption had shattered the mountain, and now a fifty-mile-wide avalanche of rock and mud was taking aim at the cities below.

It grew larger by the second. It snatched up trees and boulders. It tore away bridges and swept away houses and buildings.

It’s like a raging beast, destroying everything — and everyone —in its path.

In Miami.

The wind howled around the surrounding and rain continued its onslaught as it hammered down. The world continued to tremble as if it was shaking in fear.

People in the area could hear wind shrieking like it was going crazy. Even the earth and sky was terrified of this storm.

People were dazed in horror. Tears stung their eyes.

This was the most terrifying disaster that had struck them until now.

And then they heard a new sound, a cracking and groaning, above the wind and rain. It wasn’t caused by the earth’s trembling but…

… Seconds later countless trees and roofs smashed through the houses in the area.

It still wasn’t the end. The roofs lifted along the wind, houses would expand, and then the roof would fall.

Finally, several houses exploded.
