Chapter 385: [ Am I still a God? ]
“Oh?” As Allen turned his attention towards the bowl given by Aytan, his nose was suddenly invaded by a unique fragrance.
It was a small bowl, probably just a palm size bowl. On it was a soup with several meat cubes and some vegetables that looked like plant herbs. Even still, it resembled a porridge though.
The moment Allen absorbed the fragrance of the porridge in his nose; almost slobber came out of his mouth immediately.
Just the smell alone was 10 points…
Taste 8 points…
Quite good, As Allen was savoring the taste. The taste was delicious, and it was different from what he had been used to eating in the past.
At this moment, Aytan smiled wryly and turned around. This was the best moment to esca –no, to leave!
Although Allen was handsome and everybody’s idol and celebrity but, for Aytan she can’t stay even a second within the same room after just his masculine smell reaches her. She felt as if she would turn into her friend at any moment who became lovestruck, dreaming with no hope whatsoever for it to come true.
She was just a servant, nothing else!
Then, she will remain and act like a servant!
She had already accepted that a long time ago.
Aytan was about to escape.
But after having only taken a few steps, Allen said in a cold but playful voice behind her, "Did I allow you to leave?"
In an instant, the whole place was filled with a dark atmosphere.
Aytan subconsciously felt a chill and was so scared, her legs began to tremble. She turned around and saw Allen was smiling but Aytan noticed his eyes remained expressionless.
He wasn’t speaking and was only looking at her. Silently.
This inevitably created a cold, silent atmosphere.
When she noticed this, she wanted to cry but had no tears.
What did she do?
Aytan didn’t dare stared directly at Allen but due to fear, she couldn’t help but discreetly sneaked glances at the big boss sitting in front of her.
But unfortunately, she couldn't make out his emotions from those piercing blood eyes.
Is he... angry or not?
What did I do…?
She tried to guess what Allen would want, but he was too much of a mystery for her to figure out.
"... ..."
She secretly took a deep breath and dejectedly started to accept her fate. She dug her nails into her palms to maintain her composure and slowly walked towards him...
“Is, is something the matter, milord…?”
“… …” She asked but all the response she gets was a bowl of piercing gaze and a mischievous smile.
Like a boy who had found his new ‘toy’, this pair of eyes were as demonic and eerie as a pair of eyes dyed with countless blood. The combination of a playful and naughty smile and a cold ice gaze, his stare made people’s hearts pump faster!
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Fear? Amazement? Awe? She doesn’t know what she was feeling right now.
Aytan held her breath; afraid to even let out a peep. Allen’s king-like presence was so suppressed, she felt her knees would buckle up. She felt as if she would lose her life at any given moment... terrifying the poor little girl.
“Eating alone is distressing. It makes loneliness sours my mood and appetite. Why don’t you join me? Grab a bowl and eat with me, that will certainly make me happy,” Allen spoke gently as he twirled the spoon on his hand. The corners of his mouth quirked up into a smile.
“No, no! That would be disrespectful! A lowly servant such as me was –!!” Aytan panicked. It’s as if she had learned that her mother was kidnapped by a rapist.
“Please don’t say that. Under the creator, gods and mortals came from the same mold. And besides, if looking at our real backgrounds, I am more inferior to you,”
He was a real mortal. A human. Compared to her, even if she wasn’t’ a Godkin, she was still better, because she was a High Human from birth!
Her specs compared to a normal human was completely different...
“No, that can’t be! Milord is completely different from the likes of me! You are far better than any man I had ever seen and served!” But Aytan would never agree to that. Whether he was a mortal or not, the man in front of him wasn’t a normal person anymore!
He was a God! An existence far more valuable compared to her.
She was just a mere trash compared to Allen who was like a priceless ancient vase!
“Don’t hold yourself in contempt,” Allen raised his head and looked at Aytan straight through her eyes. “I’ll get angry, you know…”
!!?
Perhaps because the angle was too good, Aytan’s heart unexpectedly began to beat faster.
“All of us in my eyes, noble or not, royalty or servants, we have always been the same. Indeed, in terms of capability, intelligence and charm, the world has no such thing as fair. But at least, in existence, we came from the same thing…” Allen flashed a grin, “Don’t you think so?”
Allen's voice was very pleasant to hear, each word like a sizzling electric current that made Aytan’s heart numb.
Aytan actually wanted to say something but she didn’t have the guts to do so. Allen seems to be a stubborn one. If he says its left then it would certainly not be a right. she would only make things awkward and dangerous!
While eating, Allen stared at Aytan who was fidgeting and seems to be nervous. With a face like she was about to cry, Aytan was sitting down obediently, like a student in a strict class.
Thus, he couldn’t help but smile wryly as he rested his head in one hand. "Are you that scared of me?"
“… …” Aytan’s eyes widened to its limit. Allen’s question was certainly out of the blue!
She suddenly realized that the Allen in front of her right now was much more unreserved than the usual Allen, so he was even more dangerous.
Aytan shook her head like a rattle but then nodded her head. "... You’re a God. Who wouldn’t be afraid of you?" She said and then bit her lips in fear.
Quivering like a little animal… how cute…
Allen swirled the water in his glass, and said faintly, "So because I am a God, you are afraid of me? Then, are all Gods meant to be feared?"
“No, that’s not…”
“Actually, you are a bit wrong,” Allen extended his hand towards her, scaring Aytan and almost causing her to fell on her chair. But Allen’s hand stopped mid-way.
“You know, I am not a God. Gods are beings that are unreachable to people right…? They stand there above, sometimes aloof and cold, and no matter how much we look, we wouldn’t be able to catch even a glimpse of them… that is a God. That is an existence called Gods…”
“… …”
“Then, what am I in front of you?” Allen stared at her. “You can touch me, you can see me. And if you wanted help, you can always cry out, yell, call out to me… and I will surely appear, whenever you needed it. Am I still a God then? A God that deserved to feared…?”
Aytan was choked with speechlessness. “Mi, milord… such words…”
She wiped her face before responding to Allen, “Even if you say that! I’m just but a single mere servant. Even if what you said was the truth, I still don’t have any rights to see you eye to eye.”
Allen finally shrugged. Oh well, it’s always like this. Although you don’t want something but, they have their own culture and ways… no matter what I do, I wouldn’t be able to change it. Allen could only sigh bitterly,
“Up to you, however, give me a favor,” He then looked at her and chuckled. “Since I simply came over to eat lunch. There’s no need to be so nervous. You are acting like I'm a Lion preparing to eat you..."
"... ..."
"Whenever we’re alone, just treat me as not a God to be feared and worshipped but small young master… can you?”
Seeing his expression, Aytanknew that Allen would not let her go until she agreed on his favor and so, she could only agree.
“Oh, mn…” Although Aytan’s mouth made a sound of agreement, her heart was still somewhat uncomfortable.
She didn’t know why, but her heart once again pulsed unfathomably and mysteriously. Ba-dump, Badump.
And at this moment, her resolve somewhat strengthened! She determined again that this person, in front of her was really poisonous.
Allen looked at her before lightly raising the corners of his mouth.
