Chapter 495: [ Allen's Disappearance (2) ]

“I need to do something, that’s what my mind was telling me… that’s what my heart dictates! If I need to go and chase him to this Celestial Realm then—I would do it even if plunged into hell!” Layla stated with firm conviction. Her eyes moist and tears started rolling down her cheeks.

To her, Allen was her life. Knowing that he was in a dangerous condition, ripped her hearts into pieces. That, if she stopped looking, she would go insane.

"…" When she heard Layla’s response, Mia tiredly rubbed her temple.

She was helpless, but she understands...

“But Sister Layla, if something happened to you, I don’t know how to face Allen…”

“… …” Layla’s lips trembled as she locked her eyes on Mia. “I’m sorry, but I want to do this…”

However, no matter what Mia had said, Layla was adamant about challenging ruins and dungeons. Only when he was certain that he was really safe and sound would she stopped.

When Layla left, Mia was so angry and frustrated for the very first time in her second life. Not because of Layla’s reckless decision but to herself in which was incapable of helping Allen who was on the other side of time and space.

She had already achieved a very high level, one among those who can be considered unparalleled in this world—but it was still not enough to lessen the burden her beloved man was carrying.

Fear? Unease? Self-blame?

She couldn’t explain the emotion.

Why?!

Why is this happening again…?

Mia leaned back against the sofa with a huff.

Allen… just what are you doing right now…?

I know that you are alive, so give some signs, will you…?! I’m dying in here worrying for you—! Please!

The back of head pressed against the sofa. She didn’t know what she was thinking about and just stared blankly at the ceiling.

Allen’s face surfaced in her mind, that always grinning face.

To be honest, the normally serious Mia really disliked that improper grin. However, she could not come to dislike the face. Instead, she loved it, she loves looking at it every day…!

The season was already entering winter. There was already a hint of chill in the wind. But even with only a thin long sleeve on her, she did not have any sense of temperature.

How was Allen doing?

She didn't know.

What she did know was that if he were okay, he would come back immediately.

But now...

She uncontrollably clenched her fist, feeling the sudden moisture in her eyes.

"Dammit."

That fist feebly smashed onto the sofa and the part besides her instantly blown apart.

With dilated pupils, Mia touched her lips. I miss you… I miss you so much…

Allen…

Shortly after dawn, a shrill shriek pierced the forest.

The foliage of the dense trees spread out like a ceiling, blocking out the sun’s rays. It was a place called things like the ‘Sea of Forest’. In the center of this forest lay an old, abandoned castle, covered in vines, and it was rumored that the deceased, demons, and spirits resided within.

The stench of rotten leaves lingered within the somber and quiet forest. While walking inside, you would be pounced by a sinister monster and beast that let out low and obscure howls at any time. Some hissing sounds were heard from the inside or somewhere around the forest. There had already been a number of disciples who were eliminated in this few weeks’ time.

The monsters in the first domain didn’t have much intelligence and they only have a bit of power compared to the new disciples—even still, they were very ferocious towards human they had met as if they weren’t afraid of death. Killing monsters could be easy but being unhurt wasn’t.

Somewhere in the forest was a girl in yellow clothes stumbling across the trees while running for her life.

She was merely a peak Grandmaster cultivator. Her magical strength was insignificant for four 2nd rank monsters chasing her and two 3rd rank.

“He..lp!”

The girl’s face was oval and bright. She had beautiful hair like burnished copper, and deep, black eyes, with ethereal, pale white skin.

From the smooth curve of the bridge of her nose, she seemed to have the refined grace of a noble, but the tomboyish impression she gave was even stronger than that.

However, even that lively face was currently twisted in fear.

Due to fright, her legs had gotten lots of bruises after losing her embroidered shoes. She was running towards the abandoned castle looking for some help, she knows that such a distinguished landmark, surely, some people should have noticed it and decided to stay within it.

It was now her best choice to survive—although she can leave the Labyrinth just like her teammates but she doesn’t want to throw away her chance of entering the Sect. Although they had managed to gather a huge amount contribution points already—however, all of her hard work up until now would be in vain if she gives up now and leaves before a month’s time.

She just needed to endure for only two days and she would pass the examination and become an official disciple—and judging from the number of her contribution points she would at least enter the inner courtyard…!

She just can’t give up!

“Please… help me!!”

As expected, as she runs towards the abandoned castle, she would bump into some other candidates—however, unfortunately, none of them could and would save her and instead turned run away from her as if she was a plague. No one would risk their lives as well as their goals by getting themselves into trouble just for some stranger.

Seeing this, a pained and hurt expression appeared on her face. Her eyes turned watery.

Bastards…!! She cursed inside her mind, however, she also understands what they were feeling, because, she would also do what they did if she stands on their shoes.

She was losing her hope when the monsters were getting nearer. Her back hit an old tree and she fell, sitting on the ground. The monsters and beasts exuded red lights from their ferocious eyes, and they cackled and let out several roars filled with excitement.

“Any…one? Help me…. I will… do anything for you!”

She stuttered in a low tone, but no one responded. Then, she just closed her eyes in disappointment, took out the jade bead and was about to crash it—

When something unexpected happened.

At this moment, a youth was walking through that eerie forest. He was a youth looked like eighteen to nineteen years old, with silver hair and menacing blood red eyes.

He had a handsome face and wore a black robe that was engraved with several red cloud images. On his head was dawned by a bamboo hat—however, if one looks closely, with his appearance, if he wore a neater outfit, he might have been able to call himself a noble from somewhere.

“Aree? Unsightly,” As the girl closed her eyes and clenched her fist to crush the jade bead, a voice suddenly rang out, starting the girl.

When the girl raised her head and opened her eyes, she only saw a golden flash before, the monster in front of her started falling down one by one, then ice slowly spread over their bodies and encasing them in a frozen ice. They couldn’t even let out a single sound before they took their last breath.

“Wha, wha,” The girl stuttered at the sudden development. She stared at the youth slowly walking towards her in shock and awe.

The person that helped her didn’t seem unfazed at the sight of her as he walked closer and then, the moment he passed before them, he grabbed the head of the monster that was standing on his way in a claw-like grip and crushed it with one hand.

The monster’s head that had become ice Popsicle was extremely brittle as it was crushed into pieces in an instant.

“Too noisy and was even standing on my way, annoying.” The youth muttered.

The girl that was saved couldn’t help but look at the youth with a bamboo hat in a daze.

This young man was very strong.

When the girl saw his face, it shocked her. Handsome, graceful… and with a hint of nobleness. However, with just one look, the girl instantly knows that he wasn’t a native but certainly from a western clan outside from the Divine Martial Continent!

God Clan. This name appeared inside her mind.

She had once seen people with similar appearance due to her clan—many foreigners visited the Divine Martial Continent for a tour and gaining experience, and she was then mesmerized by their looks that could topple any handsome men she had seen up until now.

The man looks a little too good?

Wheat-colored skin, a pair of deep beautiful red slitted eyes akin to that of a serpent with no confusion, greatly boosted his handsome appearance. His slightly domineering tall and straight nose, two pieces of thin lips tightly pursed, his handsome yet elegant, restrained brow with some mixed taste. At this time, this pair of eyes is staring at her without blinking.

Such a handsome man, the girl has only seen several people with comparable looks as him and all of them where direct descendants of a God Clan. But the most noteworthy was the charm and aura this person in front of her radiated, it wasn’t some half-assed and was instead, one of the highest she had seen in her life up until now.

What is he doing here…?

At this moment, her heart started beating faster.

“I, I…” She stuttered. However, before she could calm down and talk, the youth in front of her—surprisingly… brushed past her…

Eh?! The girl stood there shocked and in daze… what? He, he actually just passed her as if he didn’t see her?

Her strained nerves tightened.

She immediately turned around and her eyes burned fiercer. “Wait!” She called out.

But the youth didn’t stop and instead continued walking towards the abandoned ancient looking castle.

“I said wait!” The girl grits her teeth in frustration and hurriedly chased the youth, grabbing his arm.

Suddenly, the youth stopped and turned around, quiet sharp eyes shot across and stared at her.

“What do you want?” Under the Bamboo hat, the youth frowned.

“I,” The girl bit her lower lip in shame. However, she was hailed from a prestigious clan. Thus, she was able to calm her mind immediately. “I, I just want to thank you, for saving me…”

“Oh?” A youth responded indifferently. Then he took back his arm and turned around again, “Then, doesn’t matter. I’m just buying soy sauce… you can just forget about it and thank your luck,”

The youth nonchalantly wave the back of his hand on her and proceeded forward.

The girl stood there rooted.

She was about to say something again when—ROOOOAAARRR!!! Roars of monsters and beasts echoed within the forest, startling her. Fearing another attack, she hastily chased after the youth.
