Chapter 608: [ The instant which is far more beautiful than infinity ]

Kris Tian never disappeared from Allen’s eyes. And because of this, the moment Liu Muxiao appeared, he had able to see the change in her expression even though she tried masking it away immediately after.

With his Godly senses and perception, it was impossible for Kris Tian's level to fool him. So he went and asks Liu Muxiao if she had remembered her, but sadly it seems to be not the case. But the pain appearing on Kris Tian's expression when she heard Liu Muxiao says otherwise…that was how Allen was able to ascertain it…

Liu Muxiao had probably not remembered because Kris Tian was still a child the last time she saw her and that, because of the notion that ‘that’ world existing in the present timeline is already an impossibility as it was in the parallel universe and not an alternate world, obstructing her to think this way…

“…I’m really happy to have met you, Wushuang…” Allen bit his lips, his eyes turning moist. “…I really do…”

“… …” Kris Tian’s indifferent face finally crumbled, she averted her eyes from Allen’s gaze and look sideways. “I…I did not… I still hate you, more than ever…” She muttered.

Allen felt a stinging pain within him but all of it vanished when he saw a tear falling from her eyes.

“…but why Kris Tian…?” Allen forced out a laugh, and the atmosphere between the two of them grew oppressive once more, with a stifling feeling in the air.

After uncovering their hidden identities, the two of them were still adjusting to the newfound fact of how to approach each other through their new identities. Both had their own thoughts and own questions to ask, and they slowly sank into silence as they contemplated this.

Kris Tian remained silent for quite a while longer, and Allen could clearly feel that Kris Tian’s heart was beating extremely fast. Suddenly, she took in a deep breath, before emotionlessly saying, “My full name is… Ye Kris Tian…” she answered honestly.

“When mom died, I was adopted by my grandmother. However, the demons are running rampant and the world was plunged into chaos. And without the Ten Kings, all of you, the Dawn Organization slowly wilted and died down…Demons ruled the world. They covered the sky and earth, they live on the surface while humans live deep underground…”

As she said this her tone had recovered a hint of her usual self!

“… …”

“At first, a few of humanity has left, gathered together and isolated ourselves within a small island. However, that didn’t work out either. A few years later, we were found and we were almost captured. My Grandma died during the battle… fortunately, some were able to still fight. And I was able to survive and run away, only to be found by a group of survivors that were still fighting and still not losing any hope. And the one who had found me and adopted me… you should know her…”

“… …??”

“Known as Man-Eating Tiger… Aemie Villaflores.”

“M, Mom?! She’s still alive…?” Allen’s feet stop and his eyes rounded wide. This kind of thing to actually happen…! He really didn't expect this kind of development in that world.

“Yeah, she was, living in the underground with other people, still not willing to throw the towel in the war. She was one of the leaders of that force calling themselves; [ Liberators ]…Charismatic, beautiful, and strong…she was called the Goddess of War; Minerva, in the later years upon the Dawn Alliance destruction,” Kris Tian nodded and twirled elegantly and then, stepped sideways, in which Allen followed to continue the waltz.

Without caring about the dances and exquisite movements, she continued; “…Another force apart from the Dawn Alliance that you guys were leading. Although not individually as strong as the Godly Ten Kings in legend, but in terms of force between the organizations, you can say, they are a bit stronger.”

“…and for some reason, Grandma knows who I am….”

“…heh?”

“...A friend’s clairvoyance, who had reached the maximum level at that time, apparently said, that she would find the one she was looking for all this time… her children. Though what she found was not you, but me… When she tried looking for you before, apart from one who had been ascertained to have died, one was blocked and covered with darkness and couldn’t be found the exact location even by the high-level clairvoyant…probably because you are too strong, the woman’s clairvoyance couldn’t see through you at that time…”

“Then, the one who gave you the name…”

Kris Tian nodded her head. “It was Grandma… When I told her my name was Ye Wushuang, from my father, Ye Wushuang… she was then able to infer that Ye Wushuang, that Allen Bando, you who was known as the Black Demon King, and the Dawn Alliance strongest tamer, [The Immortal], was her long-lost son…when she realized that, her hope was dashed and she broke down, crying. Regretting the fact that when people told her to allied with Dawn Alliance, she refused, thinking that the Alliance has no future. If she had done…she thought, she would surely able to see you. Fortunately, Uncle Garth and Aunt Stella were able to calm her down.”

“I see…mother was…” Allen smiled happily.

Thinking about how his mother was still as strong as ever in that world…

Seeing Allen's eyes flashing nostalgia and a hint of longing as well, Kris Tian's eyes somewhat softened as well as her tone, “Ye Wushuang was a pseudo-name you created so it was not proper. Thus, she made my name Kris, carrying your name and Tian…means heaven, Heaven’s Child…that was how my name was changed into Ye Kris Tian…”

“I see…so mother found you, huh…I better thank fate then…” Allen smiled happily.

Kris Tian sighs and nodded.

“So? How was the war then…?”

“We’re doing quite well… for some reason though, most of the big shots within the Demon Army had apparently disappeared. The Demon Castle as well was destroyed, many say it was the Dawn Alliance Godly Ten Kings that had done it. Killing many of the Demon Generals…”

“… …”

“However, something strange happened we couldn’t understand…” Kris Tian frowned slightly.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Strange….?”

“Yes, I heard that the night after the Demon Castle was destroyed, a large vacuum appeared in the sky…” Kris Tian muttered as they continued to waltz. “It was so large as if the sky was covered by darkness, or so that was what I had heard… almost half of the world was destroyed in an instant. Fortunately, we who had managed to escape and isolated on an island was spared from it… However, the demons suffered heavy casualties and all the Demon Generals had disappeared…”

“Many people surmised that it was done by all of you, the rumored Godly Ten Kings had something to do with it, that before their death they wanted to dragged the demons to hell…or so the story goes. But no one can verify it, it only remains as a speculation. However, due to the war, Grandma and the others had used this to bring back the morale of humanity--although she also wanted to glorify you and all of your glorious image as a memorial, she did it, marking you as everlasting Heroes. Because of it, most humans left in the world, including those once part of the Dawn Alliance, rallied and fought together with us [Liberators]” Kris Tian smiled wryly.

“Even still, Demons were running rampant. There were still many powerful demons left. Thus, even without the terrifying Demon Generals… humanity still are unable to gain an upper hand on the war.”

“Is that so…?”

“…well, it’s not something you need to worry about. Your era has come to an end, this time is ours…” Kris Tian glared at Allen, her expression was proud and full of heroic dignity!

Allen smiled wryly. Indeed, she was the child of Liu Muxiao, this pride and fighting spirit was something beyond the average people can possess.

This is my daughter as well... though, of course, she wouldn't be someone simple and ordinary!

Allen felt proud inside. Then, suddenly he recalled something, “…but there was something I couldn’t understand…how come you are here…? That world should be…”

“I don’t know even if you ask me that. All I know is that one day, the Dungeon that Grandma and the others were monopolizing and treated as a training ground suddenly transforms into something else…this Dungeon…” Kris Tian answered honestly. “We have been using this Dungeon as a training ground and obviously I had never thought or even imagined that you would appear in this world. I have been here since I was a child but this is the very first time I had seen you...”

Allen frowned after hearing it.

“...You don't know how surprise and shock I was when I suddenly saw someone extremely identical to my father I had seen on pictures and history books. I thought I was mistaken and came over, wanting to see who dares to disguise as my father and beat him up. Though never thought that you really are him…” Kris Tian said with a sigh.

“And, when you realized that it's really me, you then have an urge to kill me…?” Allen smiled bitterly.

“…Ah, is that bad…?” Kris Tian gritted her teeth. “I hate you, so I want to kill you…!”

In fact, the moment she saw him, Kris Tian was extremely shocked. All while, thinking that Allen was here all along, hiding and acting like the Dungeon Keeper. He abandoned that world that he ought to save. And if he really was here all this time, her mother and her back on Earth was abandoned by him and left them to die, all while hiding here just to survive--thinking as such caused her heart to have this inexplicable fury that could topple the heavens.

Something so hateful…!

Thus, she felt a sudden fury, enough to want to kill him to wash this shame…!

The Hero that everyone thought was actually a coward, hiding here like a disgusting rat!

However, when she saw Liu Muxiao, her mother that should have been dead long ago, so young and unlike the one from what she had remembered, she started having doubts…

What’s happening…? Why are her parents, both in this place…? She was really at a loss to the point that she started having a doubt, is she on a dream...?

Is she actually asleep right now?

She had pinched her waist to the point that it had already bruised badly to wake her up but couldn't...just what is going on here?! Illusion? Is that it? She felt as if she was growing crazy… but when she heard ‘Past World’ this simple yet so crazy wording, she finally understands everything…a very unlikely yet hard to believe fact came unto her…!

To be honest, although she may get frustrated by his grin and unserious attitude from time to time, she never disliked Allen, her one and only father.

Also, she felt an emotion she never experienced before as she interacts with him.

Relieved? Relaxed? It was hard to say.

These feelings made her confused. However, the fact that she enjoyed being with him more than she had ever imagined, to the point that she actually forgotten of beating him up, cursing him to the point he would not know where is East or West, and instead, wanting to talk with him more was a shock even for her…!

She had imagined having a reunion with her father in the past, but all of it was full of cursing and complaints. But when it really occurred...she found out, she doesn't know what to do... or think.

So strange...

… …

Like a scene from the fairytales, the hall was filled with music.

Kris Tian who felt confused somewhat was gradually lost in the melody of the moment as she danced with Allen. It's as if her mind stopped thinking and all her worries and concern vanished in thin air, only letting her body do the work.

In just a matter of time, the leading role was taken by the two as every people in the room focused their attention to them. Even the other pairs in the dance floor gradually took some distance, leaving only them in the middle of the dance floor, happily dancing.

Badump! Badump!

Heart beating as if dancing in the music as well. Their bodies moved naturally to the melody, their feet moved in sync with the beat of the music up and down in the dance floor in beautiful steps as if it was choreographed.

They were dancing in the middle of the dance floor with grace.

Their movements were as beautiful and elegant as water striders playing in the surface of the pond.

“Never thought in my life, I will dance… with my father as the first dance ever to boot…” Kris Tian sighs while smiling wryly.

Allen laughed in response; Kris Tian looked distracted for a moment, then pouted a little. Even a tiny interaction like this made him feel happy. Ah, it's been so long, listening to music is fun, I haven't exercised for quite a while, Allen thought.

WebTV, podcasts, MP3, the music that was always around him, because it was so prevalent and free, he forgot how special music was.

Music was very special.

It didn't exist in nature, it was a man-made discovery.

This experience was similar to food, you only knew how good it was after you lost it. Everybody had forgotten about music in this period of time, especially in ‘that’ world. Though the him today, had already learned how to treasure these little things and carried with him no matter where he goes, even in this world, the Celestial Realm.

When he wanted to listen to music, he could with just a click of his finger…unlike the past world.

And once again, Allen could not help but feel thankful for the music that allowed him to have a moment and memory of a dance he warmly and peacefully had with his beloved daughter in front of him.

The daughter he once thought he would never see in his entire life no matter how much power he possesses. But probably, God is real, because he actually gives him a moment like this.

Even if it was only for a single hour or day, it was already enough to cherish for a lifetime!

...His heart never felt so free and light.

"Since you have the found the heart to tease me, can you straighten your back, we are the center of attention in this hall alright? We need to dance as gracefully as feathers... Because father is the world’s hero that is darker than black."

But Kris Tian did not know how to interpret Allen’s smile and adopted a strict attitude to warn him. Allen chuckled and focused on straightening his back, being aware of Kris Tian in his arms. He lifted his left hand to avoid unnecessary actions, leading the dance with his fingertips.

Allen and his long lost daughter danced elegantly.

The music sounded clearer than before, his body moved naturally to the melody, his feet and Kris Tian’s moved in sync with the beat of the music up and down the dance floor in beautiful steps.

The dancers around them moved like flower petals, lost in the music of the performers. There were countless pairs of eyes on them, eager, enthusiastic, excited and many more fervent gazes.

Although Kris Tian doesn't know how to dance at all and this is one of the few times she did it, she moved her feet without forcing it, as Allen took the lead.

When Allen moved on the right, she moved as well. For some reason, she found her heart was at ease at the moment, and the scene of the hall which was just a background filled her eyes. The other pairs around them moved like flower petals, lost in the music of the performers.

At this moment,

“…are you really going to hide your identity from Muxiao…?”

As she was lost in thought, wanting to savor the moment, Allen’s voice rang out through her ears.

"... ..."
